Chapter 2: Art in Dreams

Under some unknown sense of crisis, he kept practicing swordsmanship, but his talent was only at the average level, so his training speed was very slow.
During this period, he saw countless people like him who, because of hatred and other reasons, began to use Kazan syndrome or the power of ghosts and gods to enhance their own strength.
He didn't do those things, because he knew clearly that these powers came at a price. Either he would go crazy, or he would be with ghosts and gods all day. He firmly believed that only his own power belonged to him, so he didn't choose the shortcut like those who made rapid progress, but continued to practice swordsmanship.
However, because his family's financial situation was not enough to support him to practice swordsmanship full-time, he began to take on the task of guarding caravans.
Finally, during a guard mission, he was outnumbered and died.
At the moment of death, Li Ke felt dizzy. He suddenly opened his eyes and saw the ceiling of his room and a pair of caring eyes.
At the same time, he felt a warm current entering his body, making him feel like he was soaking in a hot spring all over his body, and his body also gave him an unprecedented feeling of relaxation.
But immediately afterwards, he felt a pain all over his body.
Training, sword training, memories of Qi practice, countless days and nights of life, and finally, the fear of death.
This feeling made him very dazed, and he couldn't remember whether he was Li Ke who traveled to Ionia, or the down-and-out swordsman living in the continent of Arad.

But just as he was struggling in pain, a pair of hands gently stroked his forehead, and a force like a breeze entered his soul, calming the waves that were constantly rising in his soul.
"How are you, kid?"
An old voice was heard, and Li Ke's pain slowly dissipated under the breeze. Li Ke finally opened his eyes and looked at the familiar figure.
After taking a few deep breaths, he finally came to his senses. The memories and habits of Swordsman Arad began to fade rapidly, but when his fingers twitched, he still subconsciously used the power possessed by the swordsman.
The power of Qi.
Li Ke's pupils suddenly contracted when he sensed this. He immediately stopped using Qi as if instinctively, sat up from the bed, and bowed his head to thank the elder in front of him.
"I'm fine, Elder Suma, thank you for your care."
The old man looked at Li Ke, who still had sweat on his forehead. Li Ke had fainted in the corridor of the dojo before. Although there was nothing wrong with his body, he was unable to wake up, which made him very worried.
And now, Li Ke finally woke up, and he could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
"The doctor said that you overworked and your body was damaged, so you fell into a coma... In addition, do you feel any other discomfort?"
Elder Suma took a bowl of potion from Yongen who was standing by and handed it to Li Ke. When Li Ke took the bowl of medicine , he also saw Yasuo, who was supposed to help the elders do these things, leaning against the door, teasing the butterfly on his shoulder.
"Thank you, Elder. I don't feel any other discomfort."
He drank all the medicine in the bowl. The slightly bitter and cool taste told him that it was a calming herb. After drinking it, his drowsy feeling disappeared a lot. As the magical energy in the medicine played a greater role, his drowsy feeling also began to gradually disappear.
"That's good. Don't be busy with the affairs of the dojo during this period, and don't practice swordsmanship anymore. Just focus on recuperation."
The elder sighed. Li Ke was a hard-working child, very smart, and a quick learner. But his natural weakness and lack of magical talent meant that he could not become a qualified swordsman.
Other children, even if they cannot learn the wind-controlling sword technique, can use magic to communicate with nature, or use magic to strengthen their bodies and use some small spells. But this child can't do that and can only rely on his own physical strength to use swordsmanship.
But he had no magic power, nor any talent for magic, as if he was not an Ionian.
"Yes, Elder."
Li Ke nodded obediently, and the elder gave some other instructions, then took Yongen away . He still had to go to the village to deal with some things, so he couldn't stay with Li Ke all the time.
Instead, Yasuo, who was supposed to be a guard, stayed by Li Ke's side, still leaning against the door, looking at the scenery in the yard boredly.
Just when Li Ke thought he was about to leave, Yasuo suddenly spoke.
"You don't have to try so hard."
Leaning against the door, Yasuo considered his words and continued speaking.
"With your talent, no matter how hard you try, you are not good enough to become a swordsman. There is no need to continue working hard. It will be in vain."
Although they were carefully considered, Yasuo's words were still very hurtful.

If we judge his words based on his previous arrogant character and his merciless ridicule of losers, then there is no doubt that Yasuo is mocking losers.
But Li Ke knew that was not the case. Yasuo just wanted to persuade himself not to go down the wrong path.
"But Elder Suma has always had expectations of me, and I also like swordsmanship very much."
Li Ke picked up his sword from the bed and pulled it out.
But this time when he drew out the sword again, Li Ke felt a strange feeling, as if the sword he had used for two or three years had changed, and...
A lot lighter?
A sword will not become lighter by itself.
In other words, his power increased.
Thinking of the warm current before, and the "qi" he used subconsciously, Li Ke had some guesses.
Everything I had 'dreamed' before might be true.
Before traveling through time, Li Ke had read countless novels, including novels about simulators, so it was not difficult for him to guess where his sudden increase in strength and the inexplicable appearance of "qi" came from.
"But if you become a craftsman, or a debater, or even a businessman, I think you can live a better life. Although the expectations of the elders are important, you simply cannot achieve them with your qualifications. Trying harder will only lead to more trouble and scars."
Looking at this fellow disciple who had ruined his body by practicing sword skills, Yasuo felt extremely sorry. Li Ke was a rare person who could face his fellow disciple with a normal attitude.
He didn't care about it in the past, but after seeing Li Ke fall, he realized that he actually cared about this person who never flattered him or criticized him behind his back.
So he really didn't want to see him die because he was walking down a path that didn't belong to him.
"Oh, I'll think about it."
Li Ke just wanted to get rid of him quickly, so he just smiled.
"ha."
Yasuo did not comment, stood up from the door, and walked out of the courtyard. But in his heart, he regarded Li Ke as a fool who did not know his own limitations and insisted on doing what he wanted.
"Think it over carefully. People who don't know their own limits never have a good ending."
After leaving behind a final word of advice, Yasuo disappeared into Li Ke's courtyard.
Li Ke watched him leave without feeling too unhappy. Yasuo's personality was like this, extremely arrogant and conceited, but he had been smooth sailing since childhood, so he did have the capital to do so.
And there is nothing wrong with what he said.
If it were in the past, apart from this kind of thing he might really question his own limited talent and give up swordsmanship, but now...
The sword flashed and a clear sound appeared in the room, but it disappeared as Li Ke sheathed the sword.
When the sword was completely sheathed and the sword sound like a dragon's roar completely disappeared, the candle flame five meters away from Li Ke trembled, and then in a breeze, the wick broke and fell silently into the wax, splashing a beautiful and flickering candle flower.
"really……"
The skills in the 'dream' can be used.
