Chapter 129 Tutor

Chapter 130 Tutoring
Fang Qing had never imagined that one day someone would approach her asking her to be a tutor. And it wasn't anyone else, but the parents of the little boy she had saved.

Seeing the little boy again, Fang Qing and the child stared at each other for a long time, finally finding a sense of familiarity in each other's slightly changed faces.

Fang Qing saw that the boy had grown considerably taller, looking about eight or nine years old. The once adorable little boy now had the appearance of a youthful youth. While not as handsome as Wen Ning, his features were well-defined, with thick eyebrows and large eyes. Although he didn't smile much, he was instantly endearing.

Since entering the house, the little boy had been silent, expressionless no matter how Fang's mother teased him. Only when Fang Qing looked at him and asked him a question would he nod or shake his head slightly, occasionally answering with a single word or two.

Finally, Fang's father took out some of Fang Qing's childhood toys and books and took the boy out to play. The parents then explained to Fang Qing the reason for his child's reticence.

The child's parents came from well-off families in the capital. Zhang Ting, the child's mother, was a dance teacher; Meng Ting, the child's father, was a military officer. Three years after their marriage, they welcomed their child. The whole family doted on their child, but some, however, were jealous.

Speaking of this, Zhang Ting tucked her hair in a quirk of embarrassment. "We're not afraid to tell you. Any inquiry in the capital would reveal this."

Meng Ting's father, a playboy in his youth, had an illegitimate child. Shortly after his mother's death, and his position at work had become secure, he sought to bring the illegitimate child and the woman back home. However, Meng Ting vehemently opposed this, believing that bringing back the woman was a humiliation to his mother.

Despite Meng Ting's strong objections, the child and the woman were indeed prevented from entering their home. However, his father, now old and swayed by his influence, bought property and arranged jobs for the mother and child.

They thought things would remain peaceful, but Meng Ting's mother had brought a large fortune with her when she married, and now most of it had passed into the hands of Meng Ting's father. The mother and son then tried every possible means to squeeze in and claim a share

of the estate. Meng Ting vehemently opposed this, and his forceful tactics left them with nothing to gain. Unable to gain any money, the mother and son began to torment them. First, at his wedding, they deliberately tried to impersonate his mother, only to be kicked out. Then, when his wife was pregnant, they feigned affection, pretending to be there to care for her, but secretly slipped premature birth medication into her soup.

Had his father not intervened, Meng Ting would have jailed the mother and son. After his father's persistent pleas, Meng Ting finally relented and asked them to stay away. Two years of peace passed, but shortly after Meng Ting's son was born, the mother and son bribed their nanny, broke into their villa, and attempted to take the child away.

The child was frightened and became quiet from then on, refusing to interact with anyone except his mother and father.

When he started kindergarten, the teacher began to notice a series of strange things about him: he would refuse to touch anything touched by other children and refused to interact with anyone. If anyone spoke loudly, he would tremble, turn pale, and foam at the mouth.

The couple later sought out numerous high-end private tutors, but the child remained fearful, and no matter what they tried, they couldn't get him to study quietly.

Schooling became impossible, so the mother and father took turns teaching him basics at home. While they had been able to do so when he was young, as he grew older, they found themselves unable to teach him much. The parents began to worry about their child's future prospects without a proper education. They

later learned that a friend of Meng Ting's hometown had a distinguished traditional Chinese medicine practitioner who could treat these ailments. The couple brought their child to Jingtan County for treatment, but they were surprised that on New Year's Day, the child, under the protection of numerous bodyguards, was nearly abducted.

At this point, the child's mother, Zhang Ting, looked at Fang Qing with gratitude and said, "If it weren't for your brave action, this child might have really been abducted."

What happened later is now clear to everyone. In order to thank Fang Qing, the parents asked someone to send 100,000 yuan. Thinking of this money, Fang Qing always felt guilty about it, so he asked his father to take out the 100,000 yuan and return it to the owner.

At first, they didn't know who gave the money and had no way to return it. Now that they have found the child's parents, the Fang family parents also feel that they should not have accepted the money.

But the child's parents not only pushed the money back, but also took out a card.

"Miss Fang Qing, we've inquired and know you're currently attending university in the capital, which happens to be where our family lives. And since you're the only one who's not opposed to tutoring our child, we're sincerely requesting you become their tutor. We'll provide accommodation and meals, as well as transportation to and from school and security. As long as you can get our child into high school, we'll also help you find a job after graduation."

Faced with such an enticing offer, Fang Qing hesitated, and her parents were also shocked.

The young man and woman across from them seemed well-mannered and elegantly spoken. If their daughter could associate with such people, it would be beneficial for her future career.

But this was ultimately their own decision, so while Fang Qing's parents were very pleased, they still wanted her to make her own decision.

Fang Qing looked at the young couple and considered for a moment. "To be honest, I have no teaching experience and I'm not sure if I can take on the role of tutor for your child. Could you please let me think about it first? I'd also like to meet your child first to hear his thoughts."

Seeing that Fang Qing didn't refuse outright, the young parents finally breathed a sigh of relief. They had found so many tutors, but others came happily and left with dejected faces. Perhaps Fang Qing wasn't their best choice, but she was their last chance. Seeing Fang Qing's strictness, and hoping their child would get along well with this little girl, they readily agreed to Fang Qing's request.

Starting the next day, Fang Qing and Wen Ning prepared to try interacting with the little boy for a day.
