Chapter 12 Nightmare
In the room that Boss Jin arranged for us, I fell asleep quickly because I was so tired.
At first I was in a deep sleep, totally unconscious, not even dreaming.
But later, I began to hear rustling sounds in my ears.
I slowly opened my eyes and woke up.
Looking towards the sound, I saw a child sitting in the corner.
He didn't know what he was pulling at, but the piece in the corner had already been pulled off by him.
"What are you doing here?" I looked at him a little confused.
I moved closer to him, yawning.
The child seemed not to hear me, his hands still clinging to the corner of the wall.
I suddenly felt curious.
I have been in Boss Jin's house for so long, but I have never seen any children in the house.
Besides, Boss Jin’s family has so many servants and a housekeeper. Under normal circumstances, if it were a child, there should be servants to take care of him personally.
Why is this kid in my room?
Why is he sitting here clinging to the wall?
I slowly approached him, and the closer I got to him, the more things I couldn't understand.
I found that he was wearing a Zhongshan suit from the Republic of China period. He was not very old, and looked about three or four years old.
It's just right for him to sit on the ground. If he were asked to stand up and walk, he would probably fall down in a few minutes.
"Why are you ignoring me?"
Although most children are shy, they will naturally feel curious when they hear sounds. This is their first sense of touch with the world.
So I was very curious, why was this child in front of me ignoring me?
When I was standing behind him, I squatted down to get closer to him.
Just as I squatted down, he suddenly turned around.
I saw a pale child with empty eyes without eyeballs.
His face scared me so much that I sat down on the ground and kept backing away.
“Brother…Brother…”
The child suddenly stopped clinging to the corner. When he turned around and saw me, he crawled towards me.
From his attitude, it seemed like he wanted me to hug him, but he looked so scary that I was so scared that my whole body was soaked in cold sweat.
Until I retreated to the other corner, with no way to retreat.
"Brother, hug me."
I didn't dare to stand up.
The child was getting closer and closer to me, and it felt like he was only two or three steps away from reaching me.
There was a rotten smell coming from him, and I almost vomited, trying to suppress the discomfort in my stomach.
Suddenly, my vision became blurry, as if I was possessed by a demon and I couldn’t see anything clearly.
I don’t know how long it was, but my face suddenly felt hot and painful.
I slowly opened my eyes and found that I was still lying in bed.
So was that just a dream within a dream ?
Or am I dreaming now too?
"What's wrong with you? You're screaming even in your sleep. Are you having a nightmare?" My cousin was riding on me at the moment. He looked at me with nervous eyes.
I reached out and wiped it, only to find that there was a strong smell of alcohol on my face.
It's white wine.
"You just had a nightmare, and we couldn't wake you up no matter how hard we tried, so your uncle sprayed you with some white wine. He also slapped you twice, and you finally woke up."
Dong Jing saw my puzzled look and then explained to me.
I didn't say anything, and the dream just now kept echoing in my mind.
"What kind of nightmare did you have?" The watch got off me and looked at me nervously.
I told him about my dream and pointed to the corner of the wall next to my bed: "That's the place. The kid has been climbing the wall there. He won't answer when I ask him questions. He just crawls towards me."
"He smelled terrible, like he was rotten. I didn't know where he came from, but I suddenly saw him when I woke up from my dream."
When I told my cousin all this, I was just expressing myself randomly because I was so panicked and didn't know how to say it so that he would understand what I meant.
But my cousin is my cousin after all. Even though we didn't grow up together and rarely meet, he probably understands what I mean.
"Maybe there's something wrong with that corner. I have to go find Boss Jin. You lie here for a while." After saying that, the cousin turned around and said to Dong Jing, "Help me keep an eye on him here. Don't let him fall asleep again. I'm afraid if he falls into a nightmare again, it will be difficult to wake up."
I don’t know why, but ever since I had the dream within the dream just now, I felt that there was something wrong with this house.
I didn't dare lie down now, because I was so sleepy. I was afraid I would fall asleep again, which would be a big trouble.
After a while, Boss Jin and his cousin came back.
"It's that corner of the wall. I think there's something inside. Otherwise, nothing would happen to this room. See if you can chisel it open."
My cousin pointed to the corner. This time his tone was serious, and it didn't sound like he was talking to his boss at all.
Boss Jin frowned and didn't speak for a long time.
I don't know how long it was before he told us, "Something was put into the corner, but I don't know what it was. My wife was the supervisor at the time, and she told me about it. But she asked me not to ask, so I didn't care."
Mrs. Kim?
When I mentioned Mrs. Jin, I thought of Mrs. Jin’s lounge next door.
There is an altar in the room, but I don't know what it is used to commemorate.
Thinking of that altar gave me goose bumps all over my body.
I always feel that her rest room is weird.
"Actually..." I thought about it.
At first I didn’t know whether I should say it or not. After all, I entered someone else’s room and pried into their privacy, and I felt that it was inappropriate.
But if nothing happens in between, then forget it.
I happened to dream about such an evil thing, so I thought it would be safer to say something.
"When I passed by Mrs. King's rest room this morning, I saw something being worshipped in her inner room. I want to know what it is and whether it has anything to do with the child I dreamed of?"
My words stunned everyone present.
Especially Boss Jin.
Dong Jing, my cousin and I all looked at Boss Jin.
As the head of the family, he must know something.
Just as we were staring at Boss Jin and he was hesitating, considering whether to say it or not, screams were heard again in the living room.
what happened?
I quickly threw off the quilt, got up, put on my slippers and ran out.
as expected!
A maid collapsed in the middle of the living room, and she was dead!
What exactly is going on!
Is someone doing something behind this?!
I stood in the living room, lost in thought.
