Chapter 100: I Thought You'd Ask the Child
Ying Shixue's cold, clear eyes glanced emotionlessly at her trembling fingertips, her thin lips cold: "Are you afraid of me?"
Shang Youqing said nothing, nor did she look at him. She glanced to the other side of the cave, as if trying to find another escape route immediately.
However, before she could find a way out, a subtle chill approached again. As soon as Shang Youqing turned her gaze back, she felt the invisible pressure of Xiu Ting standing before her, making her breathless.
Shang Youqing still lowered her eyes and did not look at him. Her ankle ached slightly. She tried her best to suppress the fear that weakened her body and raised her hand to push him away.
A cold, slender hand gripped her thin, trembling wrist. His gaze swept across her fair, cold face with a faint, indifferent expression. "I thought you'd ask about the child."
His slightly curled palm finally managed to secretly transform into a flaming blade. Shang Youqing seized the hand that held him and slammed it against the stone wall behind him. Without hesitation, he pierced his palm, impaling it.
The veins on the back of Shang Youqing's hand, gripping the flaming blade, throbbing until they bulged. His face was cold as he uttered the words, "Try to disgust me again."
Ying Shixue's expression remained unchanged. He seemed to be observing a petulant phoenix. His gaze rested on her face, studying her for a moment before slowly shifting to the hand she had impaled.
After a long moment, he raised his other hand. His well-proportioned, powerful palm easily grasped her trembling hand. An icy chill enveloped her hand. He slowly withdrew the flaming blade, its chill gradually extinguishing it.
Shang Youqing was in so much pain that she wanted to pull her hand back, but his cold hand wrapped it even tighter.
Ying Shixue looked indifferent, "What's disgusting? Do you think children shouldn't exist?"
Shang Youqing was completely unable to struggle free. Her pair of phoenix eyes were soaked with bloodshot as she glared at him and shouted, "Don't mention children to me!"
After a moment of silence, Ying Shixue said "Okay," and her eyes swept calmly over the coat draped over her, "You are willing to save that guy named Shen."
"In my opinion, what happened between you and me is over long ago." His movements were not gentle, but rather forceful. He tore off her coat, and the dragon's tail wrapped around her waist, dragging her into the icy stream without any tenderness. "I didn't mean to drag you into the water, but since you want to stand up for Shen Jichuan, be prepared to bear the consequences."
With a splash, Shang Youqing was caught off guard and thrown into the water by the dragon's tail.
She choked several times on the freezing glacial water, and her muscles and bones seemed to be pierced by dense ice spikes. She endured the severe pain and grabbed a rugged ice rock on the bank, trying to climb up.
However, she was suddenly bounced back by an invisible barrier, and her whole body fell into the water again.
It was obvious that they wanted her to surrender before letting her ashore.
The water in the icy stream was not deep, and the deepest part only reached Shang Youqing's waist, but the cold current in the water was something Shang Youqing could not withstand at all.
She tried to condense the Phoenix Barrier several times, but was submerged by the barrier again.
Shang Youqing forced herself to stay conscious and find the lowest water level in the water. She fell against the edge of the stone, half of her body was immersed in the cold water, suppressing her trembling breath, and her lips became colder and paler.
Shang Youqing's shoulders and neck hunched slightly in a fragile curve, instinctively shivering from the cold. She curled up her legs, her trembling hands slowly clasping her body, trying to draw out any warmth.
Even so, Shang Youqing never offered a single plea for mercy from the barrier.
Her face rested on her waterlogged knees, and gradually, a thin layer of frost formed on her eyelashes. She stopped trembling, only faint wisps of cold air escaped from her mouth and nose.
Shang Youqing had no idea how long she had been trapped in the icy cave, her consciousness hazy and distorted by the chill. She didn't even realize when the barrier had opened.
Finally, Ying Shixue returned to the Glacier Dragon Cave, her eyes indifferent as she gazed at the thin, slender figure huddled in the water, never once begging for mercy or yielding.
A moment later, the sturdy, slender, ice-blue dragon's tail slowly dipped beneath the icy stream, effortlessly scooping up Shang Youqing's body and bringing her to his embrace.
Ying Shixue calmly stripped her of her clothing and carried her back to the icy bed deep within the dragon's cave.
However, he didn't place Shang Youqing directly on the bed.
Instead, he embraced her with his tail, the dragon's breath from its scales slowly fading from her nearly frozen body.
As she slowly regained her body temperature within the dragon's tail, Ying Shixue silently examined her face. Suddenly, as if remembering something, he casually grasped her slender, snow-white ankles, which were curled against the dragon's tail.
He grasped Shang Youqing's ankles with his hands, lowering his eyes. His cold gaze traced the pale blue veins beneath her translucent skin, slowly examining the bones and veins, each bit by bit,
as if confirming something.
However, Ying Shixue hadn't held her ankles for long when Shang Youqing, wrapped in the dragon's tail, suddenly moved her fingertips slightly.
Shang Youqing slowly opened his eyes, his blurred vision revealing the massive dragon's tail wrapped around him, and... in his peripheral vision, Ying Shixue, gripping her ankle, seemingly toying with it.
Shang Youqing struggled feebly, but not only could he not free his ankle, Ying Shixue's grip only tightened, dragging him towards him.
Shang Youqing pushed weakly with his fingers, his lips parted slightly, but his voice was raspy. "Let go..."
Shang Youqing barely managed two words before the blue dragon's tail slowly and forcefully encircled her, almost touching her body. The slender, cold tip of its tail curled around her leg... Shang Youqing's
breathing became slightly ragged, and her pale hand regained some strength as she pressed down hard on the errant tail tip. She muttered coldly, "You're courting death!"
But the next second, Ying Shixue had used the tip of her tail to bind her slender wrist and forcibly brought her to his hand.
Ying Shixue's expression was still ascetic and indifferent, as if it wasn't him who had just done that.
He used the method that Shang Youqing was familiar with, using the dragon scale ice breath to transform into a thin, cold scale-shaped ice blade.
Then, he gently grasped Shang Youqing's slender and soft fingers, and expressionlessly cut her fingertips with the ice blade.
The moment Shang Youqing's fingertips were cut by the ice blade, the cold stinging pain made her instinctively retract her fingers.
However, Ying Shixue held her finger joints harder as she tried to break free, and pressed the wound on her fingertip with his thumb hard, causing blood to drip into the bottle at hand, and he said coldly: "Don't move, it's not healed yet."
