Chapter 10 Fireworks
After rehearsing with Cheng Xiang and walking out of the school gate, Chen Shuya still followed him happily.
Cheng Xiang said lightly: "Aren't you going home?"
Chen Shuya paused and shook her head.
Cheng Xiang didn't say anything else and let her follow him. He occasionally turned his head to look at her and thought the little girl was quite funny.
Suddenly, Cheng Xiang stopped.
Chen Shuya didn't have time to stop and bumped into Cheng Xiang's back. She looked up at Cheng Xiang in confusion.
Cheng Xiang turned sideways and said softly, "Do you want some cake?"
Under the street light, Chen Shuya saw that Cheng Xiang's eyes were red. She licked her lips and said, "I want to eat."
Five minutes later, Cheng Xiang took Chen Shuya to a dessert shop and ordered two small cakes.
Chen Shuya couldn't wait to scoop up a spoonful of cake. It was very sweet. She smiled and said, "Is it your birthday today? Treat me to cake."
It was originally a joke, but Cheng Xiang, who was eating cake, just said "hmm".
Chen Shuya's hand froze as she scooped the cake. She slowly put the spoon down and asked tentatively, "Really?"
"real."
Cheng Xiang didn't even raise his eyelids, his face was calm.
Chen Shuya licked her lips and suddenly found the cake in front of her a little hard to swallow.
Like Cheng Xiang, she does not have a happy family, so she knows Cheng Xiang's feelings best.
There is a sea in Lincheng, and coincidentally, it is right next to the dessert shop.
After eating the cake, Chen Shuya and Cheng Xiang were strolling on the street. At a casual glance, Chen Shuya saw a fireworks shop on the street.
She immediately called out to Cheng Xiang: "Cheng Xiang!"
Cheng Xiang looked back, not knowing what was going on. She stammered, "I want to go to the beach and take a look. Can you go with me?"
Seeing Chen Shuya blinking her big eyes at him, Cheng Xiang swallowed the words of rejection that were on the tip of his tongue and said, "Okay."
"Then wait for me at the beach. I'm going to the bathroom ."
"good."
It was a bit chilly at the beach at night, and the sea breeze blew away Cheng Xiang's bad mood.
Having not seen Chen Shuya for a long time, he turned around to look for her, but saw Chen Shuya jogging towards him with fireworks in her arms.
Cheng Xiang was stunned, staring blankly at Chen Shuya running to him and putting down the fireworks.
Chen Shuya put down the fireworks with a smile and said, "Quick, quick, set off the fireworks."
Cheng Xiang's throat choked and he spoke stiffly: "You, did you go buy fireworks just now?"
"Yes." Chen Shuya smiled with her eyebrows curved and eyes shining: "Didn't you say you wanted to watch the fireworks?"
Cheng Xiang stared at her in a daze, unable to speak.
Chen Shuya took out a lighter from her pocket, held the fireworks far away from Cheng Xiang, tried to light them tentatively, but withdrew her hand fearfully before they were lit, ready to run back at any moment.
Cheng Xiang was amused and laughed. He stood in the distance looking at Chen Shuya, his eyes full of smiles.
After a long time, Chen Shuya called him from a distance: "Cheng Xiang, I'm scared. It's windy and the flame from the lighter keeps blowing on my hand. It hurts."
Seeing Chen Shuya speaking in a wronged tone, Cheng Xiang lowered his head and smiled lightly.
Then he pulled a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket, picked up a cigarette, lit it, took a puff and spit out the smoke.
Cheng Xiang walked to Chen Shuya with a cigarette butt in his hand, handed it to her, and said gently: "Use this."
Chen Shuya took the cigarette butt and tried to light the fuse. The fuse suddenly lit up, and she was so scared that she pulled Cheng Xiang and ran away.
The fireworks are beautiful and gorgeous.
Chen Shuya looked up at the fireworks happily, the fireworks reflected in her eyes. Cheng Xiang tilted his head and looked at her with a smile.
Amid the sound of fireworks, Chen Shuya turned her head and met his gaze. Cheng Xiang saw her bright smile and said something, but he didn't hear clearly.
He leaned over and whispered in her ear, "What did you say?"
She laughed and shouted, "Happy Birthday!!!"
…
After the fireworks ended, Chen Shuya threw the garbage into the trash can and ran back to the beach to play in the water, while Cheng Xiang watched quietly from the side.
Chen Shuya suddenly asked: "Are you happy?"
Cheng Xiang glanced at her and chuckled, "Yeah, I'm happy. This is the first time someone celebrates my birthday for me."
Chen Shuya paused, then smiled and said, "No one celebrates my birthday either. The last time I celebrated my birthday was when my grandma was still alive."
After a pause, she said, "Every time it's my birthday, she would say she hopes Yaya has a happy birthday."
"Tooth?"
"My nickname." Chen Shuya raised her head and smiled at him faintly.
“No one has been nice to me since my grandma passed away.”
Cheng Xiang was silent for a few seconds, then he said: "Someone will treat you well."
Inexplicably, his tone was firm.
Chen Shuya's eyes hurt from the sea breeze, and she said lightly, "I hope someone can be nice to me openly."
Hearing this, Cheng Xiang lowered his eyes and said nothing more.
The price of watching the fireworks with Cheng Xiang at the beach was that Chen Shuya caught a cold from the sea breeze.
The next day, Cheng Xiang saw Chen Shuya drinking her cold medicine with a painful expression again, and he handed her a candy as usual.
Chen Shuya was puzzled: "Why do you always carry candy with you? I've never seen you eat it."
Cheng Xiang smiled and didn't answer.
Chen Shuya looked towards the back door and saw Ning Yan pulling Yang Yi's ears and roaring, as if Yang Yi had made her unhappy again.
Chen Shuya couldn't help but smile. They were truly a pair of bickering lovers.
Thinking of something, Chen Shuya turned sideways and asked, "When does the party start?"
Cheng Xiang thought for a moment and said, "Maybe five days later."
Someone shouted from the back door of the classroom: "Come on, Cheng Xiang, let's go play ball."
Cheng Xiang responded: "Coming."
He stood up and took two steps, then turned back and threw two candies to Chen Shuya, reminding her, "Don't forget to take your medicine at noon."
Watching him walk out of the classroom, Chen Shuya felt warm in her heart, and inexplicably felt like she was being remembered.
Chen Shuya glanced at the draft book on the table. She picked it up and took a look. There was nothing written in the book , just a simple sentence.
I say autumn is better than spring.
It was written in a very fluent style, as if he had just written it casually.
Suddenly, Chen Shuya had a bad taste in her mouth. She picked up a pen and lowered her head to draw a piglet on his draft book.
