Volume 9: The reins handed over Chapter 535 Gift
After the green fire in the fireplace went out, Jon and Grindelwald's originally calm faces simultaneously revealed a smile.
"What do you think his chances of success are?" Grindelwald asked playfully.
Jon turned his attention back to his hands. He snapped his fingers, and then a flash of blue fire appeared at his fingertips!
No spell, no casting action, just a snap of fingers!
The blue flames reflected Jon's young face, and he spoke softly.
"As long as he is willing to look for it, there is a great chance of success. If this matter was prepared by Voldemort himself, then of course it would be airtight. But in the current situation, compared with the state he was in before, this devil who has died twice in a row will definitely not have the energy to complete this matter alone. And who among the Death Eaters can he trust?"
"Without Bella, the Lestranges, and Wormtail, there is only one person he can trust. After we tell Malfoy about this man's goal, he will succeed."
Obviously, Grindelwald's attention was no longer on Jon's answer.
His eyes were also fixed on the blue flame at Jon's fingertips, shining brightly!
"An amazing achievement," he said, rarely with emotion.
Jon shook his head.
"I am just standing on the shoulders of my predecessors. If it weren't for Mr. Adrian Fox, the teachers, Professor Dumbledore, and you, the headmaster, I probably would never have been able to achieve this effect in my lifetime."
"Don't underestimate yourself. Everyone's progress is based on the shoulders of their predecessors. Maybe we have all provided you with a lot of help, but you are the only one who can accomplish this feat."
Grindelwald tapped the table and paused for a moment before speaking again.
"How confident are you now?"
Jon flicked his hand lightly, and extinguished the flame that was said to be powerful enough to burn whoever released it.
"He is not like before now. He must be fully prepared for me. In this case, if I try my best, I will probably have a 20% chance of winning."
Grindelwald already had a look of relief on his face.
"Twenty percent is enough. If Malfoy fulfills his promise to us, he will only have one chance, and we have unlimited twenty percent."
"But we can't just bet on this." Jon remained calm, not at all overwhelmed by the new power he had acquired. "We must also be prepared for the worst."
He looked at Grindelwald.
"Mr. Principal, this job is now handed over to you. You still need to continue to preside over the transformation plan you have envisioned for this world."
Grindelwald heard the hidden meaning in John's words.
"What do you want to do?"
Jon said, smiling as he stood up from his chair.
"I'll give myself a better chance of winning, but I don't know how much time Voldemort can give us. I'm going to go out for a walk after today."
After leaving Grindelwald's office, Jon did not return to the residence arranged for him in Durmstrang, but went directly to the backup base on the Wizarding Line.
Those students who just graduated from Hogwarts this year are stationed here with other members of the Order of the Phoenix. They will perform some simple tasks, but will also go to the battlefield when necessary.
When Jon arrived, Neville, Ron and Justin had just finished their work for the day and were chatting side by side, preparing to go back to their residence to rest.
When they saw Jon standing on the side of the road waving at them with the German roast pork knuckle he had packed from the Durmstrang cafeteria , the three of them showed excitement.
"Jon!"
"Hey! What good stuff did you bring? I can smell it from far away!"
Jon was surrounded by them and returned to their residence together.
It doesn't look shabby here. Each of them has a separate room . At least in terms of material conditions, Wu Pingxian is not in difficulty.
"How are you guys doing these days?"
"It's much more relaxed than before. The time when you just left was the most difficult time for the Wizarding World. We have all been to the battlefield. Neville even killed a Death Eater with his own hands. Ron cut off a man's arm with magic. I was very bad. If Professor Lupin hadn't come to support me in time, I would have almost had my head blown off by an Exploding Curse."
"The moment you step onto the battlefield, you become the brightest star."
Listening to Jon using what Dumbledore once said to Justin to describe his current self, the scene couldn't help but become very depressing.
Ron looked up at Jon.
"Will Professor Dumbledore wake up?"
In response, Jon nodded affirmatively.
"He is not dead, but someone invited him to visit another world. This is not a bad thing. He will definitely come back. Maybe by then, he will hold a sorting ceremony for the new students in Hogwarts Castle."
At the end, he deliberately spoke in a joking tone to make the atmosphere a little more relaxed.
Neville looked at Jon with a determined look.
"There is nothing we can do to defeat Voldemort, but you don't have to worry about other things. Professor Lupin and the others will lead us to solve everything."
"Don't say that, Neville. I am counting on you to defeat Voldemort."
Neville and the other three thought Jon was joking, but when they saw Jon's serious expression, their eyes widened.
" Are you kidding me?"
"Can each of you give me a present?"
Jon said seriously.
"Those with your magical properties can give me gifts."
Neville, Ron, and Justin looked at each other. They could tell that Jon was not joking.
So, they hesitated for just a moment, then went back to their rooms, and then each of them came out holding something.
The three objects were placed in front of Jon, namely a glass ball, a broken wand and a blinking book.
Neville handed over the glass ball.
"This is a memory ball my grandma gave me. I have been using it to store memories that are worth remembering. I think it may not be able to help you, but you should like it."
Ron handed over the broken wand.
"Professor Dumbledore handed it to me personally when I first entered the carriage. I have never forgotten that its previous owner was Mundungus Fletcher, a hero whom I once looked down upon but who later committed suicide with this wand after being captured. It was damaged into this state in the war a month ago. Mr. Gregorovitch told me that it could not be repaired, but I still kept it. I hope you don't dislike its current appearance."
Justin pushed past the blinking book.
"On my first Christmas in the carriage, the professors gave me a gift called "The Eye Book of Seeing with Eyes". At that time, I had always wanted to try to open this strange book in the library, but I never had the courage. On Christmas Day, it was Professor McGonagall who personally handed the book to me and encouraged me to open it. The book is no different, it just records the images seen by the eye on the cover, but for me, it was actually the first thing that officially made me accept magic."
