Volume 8: In this Hogwarts without the Dark Lord Chapter 519 I Can’t Imagine

"Horace, it's been a long time."
In the fireplace, Dumbledore greeted Slughorn gently.
Seeing Dumbledore's face, Slughorn showed a somewhat sullen expression and sat down on the sofa.
"To be honest, I thought you would come in person even if you came to see me . I didn't expect you to let a child who is not even old enough to go to magic school come here, and he also brought your wand?"
Slughorn seemed unhappy with Jon's age and obscurity, as was his wont.
"At least let Harry Potter come, then maybe I'll be interested."
Jon didn't take it seriously. He was of course very familiar with Slughorn's temper. Dumbledore spoke softly.
"I showed up just to tell you that whatever Jon says next is true. You certainly won't believe him when you meet him for the first time, but I think I still have a few kats of trust in you."
Slughorn curled his lips and poured himself and Jon a cup of black tea.
"It is only a few knives indeed. You have some self-awareness."
Dumbledore didn't say anything more. He came forward to give Jon a guarantee and proof. After hearing Slughorn's words, he just smiled slightly and then disappeared into the fireplace.
Now, Jon and Slughorn were the only ones left in the room.
The fat walrus looks not much different from the other world's self. At most, his face is rosier and his belly is rounder than his other self.
He looked at Jon without saying anything, obviously wanting Jon to speak first.
Jon didn't say anything extra polite, he just took out the pendant with a ring on it from his neck. His eyes followed his movements, and of course Slughorn also saw the ring with five blue diamond-shaped gems inlaid on it!
The shock this moment had on his heart was greater than the Elder Wand in Jon's hand!
Because with Dumbledore's unpredictable temper, he might temporarily give the Elder Wand to someone else, but as for the ring and the gem on the ring, the only person in the world who knows about the existence of these things is probably Slughorn!
After the shock, Slughorn's eyes became bloodshot. He looked extremely angry for some reason. He then pressed Jon's shoulders and questioned him.
"You dug up Adrien's grave!"
Jon was stunned for a moment before he guessed where Slughorn was going with the matter, and he explained patiently.
"Can you sit down and listen to me first? Teacher, if I really did something like that, would I still be able to find you and sit in front of you?"
"Who is your teacher! I retired from Hogwarts a long time ago. Even if I hadn't retired, you wouldn't be able to be my student at your age."
Slughorn was obviously just angry at what his old friend had taken to the grave, but his rationality had not disappeared.
After hearing what Jon said, he slowly loosened his hand and sat back on the sofa, but his eyes were still staring at the ring on Jon's neck with hostility.
Jon didn't stop and told his origins, how he got the ring, and his relationship with him in another world.
Slughorn had been listening without interrupting, but one could see that his expression was constantly changing as if he was listening to some fantastic story. If it hadn't been for Dumbledore's endorsement in advance, he might have kicked Jon out by now.
Jon knew that he wouldn't accept it so easily, so before coming he actually borrowed something from Dumbledore.
Jon said with a smile as he placed the Pensieve on the table.
"You once told me that you also had a Pensieve, but you forgot where you hid it, and that memory was backed up in the Pensieve, and you could only think of it as lost and could not find it."
When Jon mentioned this, Slughorn actually believed him 90%, because he had hardly ever mentioned this to anyone else. He had been hiding in this place for so many years and had never had the chance to tell anyone about it.
Jon used his wand to extract several memories from his mind, then placed them in the Pensieve, and finally made a gesture of invitation to Slughorn.
Slughorn's expression was complicated. After all, even though he basically believed what John said, the things in the parallel world were still too bizarre.
Although this is magical enough and does exist in theory according to the time converter, there has never been such a precedent in the wizarding world.
Jon's memory was extracted by Slughorn in front of him, and Slughorn himself was a master of memory control. Even if Jon had done something wrong, he was confident that he could find the problem.
The two of them immersed themselves in the Pensieve together.
From the first time Jon saw Slughorn at the freshman dinner, to the ring sticking to him in the carriage, Slughorn began to consider whether to teach him the complete usage of the ring, and then the two confirmed their master-disciple relationship, and together told Jon how he was tricked by Dumbledore to the carriage, and finally he cooperated with Dumbledore's plan, stole the Philosopher's Stone from the carriage, and confronted Jon in the carriage...
Slughorn watched the clips of himself in another world in silence. Now that he did not experience that kind of exile, he even could not believe he had made such a decision.
Whether it was agreeing to Dumbledore to enter the carriage as a professor or eventually going to the Ministry of Magic as an undercover agent, if the current Slughorn was asked to make a choice, he would hesitate and be afraid.
But obviously these memories could not be fabricated. It's not that no one in this world could create realistic memories in front of him, but no one understood Slughorn better than him regarding his little life habits and the logic of his behavioral actions.
He had completely believed what Jon said. After coming out of the meditation basin, he couldn't help but feel a little dazed. After being silent and dazed for a long time, he turned to look at Jon with an extremely complicated expression.
"I have no reason to disbelieve what you said. Forgive my previous rudeness. We can get to know each other again now."
Jon shrugged and held out a hand of his own.
"Jon Green, you always say I'm your best student ever."
Slughorn took his hand.
"He has the right to say that about me. I can't describe it, but he has become someone else, someone I dare not even imagine."
