Jon picked up the elder wand from the ground.
He could feel the powerful force contained in the wand, and he completely submitted to it and used it as he pleased.
Dumbledore smiled as Jon picked up the Elder Wand.

Dumbledore seemed to have finished explaining everything to John. He turned around and looked at McGonagall and Flitwick.
