Volume 7: A World with Bad Consequences Chapter 479: The Secret Room of the Time Hall
This was a small secret room. When Jon walked in, four or five candles suddenly lit up on the surrounding walls, illuminating the space.
Not only is the space small, but everything in the room is also very simple. There is a bed, a desk, a row of bookshelves, and a mirror frame that was supposed to be a mirror but is now missing the mirror .
Jon quickly shifted his attention to the small wooden box on the desk, which was the only thing in the room that could store items.
But when Jon picked it up and opened it easily, he didn't find anything inside.
This wooden box was as empty as the secret room, as if there was nothing in it. Jon sped up the time and searched the entire room, but still found nothing.
This made him frown.
The time he and Slughorn had agreed upon was almost approaching, and the purebloods here were all very alert, so even a banquet would not delay them for long.
Jon did not stay in the secret room any longer. He walked out quickly and took the egg off the door. Then the whole door began to close.
He stuffed the egg back into the transparent glass column, added water into it, and finally used a spell to change the color of the water.
However, the effect of transforming an egg into a bird requires a special transformation catalyst, which John certainly cannot produce under his current conditions. However, he can directly use transfiguration to maintain such a transformation effect for a period of time. Of course, this effect is not as smooth as the previous transformation, and the duration is not long, but at least it can barely cope with it for a while.
Just when Jon had finished all this, the door of the Time Hall was suddenly opened from the outside.
Dandy looked at Jon seriously, like an Auror staring at a criminal.
"What are you doing!"
Jon looked normal.
"Why are you so excited? I just want to take a look here and see if I can fix these time turners."
As he spoke, he pointed to the time converters that were placed in a mess on the glass counter and that Jon had not yet put back in place.
Dandy didn't just listen to what Jon said, he quickly looked around the entire time hall, then walked in and checked around the place, constantly looking at Jon while looking.
Jon acted innocent.
"Hey, what are you doing? Do you suspect I'll steal something from here? Look at all these old things. Which one of them can compare to the wand made by my uncle?"
After confirming that there were no special changes in the entire time hall, Dandy glared at Jon fiercely.
"Get out! Don't hang around here when you have nothing to do!"
John did not leave in disgrace because of his words. Instead, with great dissatisfaction showing on his face, he drew out his wand without hesitation and pointed it at Dandy.
"You damned bastard, you think you can do whatever you want to me just because you are classified as a pureblood by the Bloodline Law? Try repeating what you just said to me again."
Dandy's face darkened as well. He almost forgot that "Spike" was a young master from an old-school pure-blood family. His scolding was nothing to the young men of the same new school, but to the Twenty-Eight Sacred Families who had always regarded them as pure-bloods of a higher level, this was a great humiliation.
"You have joined us, and I don't want to make a big deal out of it. This room is important, and you can't just come in without permission."
No matter how ugly his expression was, Dandy's tone finally softened a little. Jon snorted coldly and put down his wand.
"That's more like it. I know you have a mission here, and I don't care what you want to do, but don't forget the most basic respect and order."
After saying that, Jon turned and left the Time Hall, leaving Dandy, whose face was flushed and who was angry but couldn't express it, behind.
Staring at Jon's disappearing back, Dandy closed the door of the Time Hall as quickly as possible. Then he quickly walked to the door hidden in the wall and observed it carefully for a while. He then withdrew his gaze after making sure that there was nothing unusual.
He took another look at all the ornaments in the Time Hall. The bird-shaped ornament was still repeating the process of changing from an egg to a bird and then from a bird back to an egg. The sand in the hourglasses of all sizes was still flowing, and there was no change.
Finally, Dandy also left the Time Hall. Not long after, the phenomenon of the bird-shaped ornament changing from an egg to a bird suddenly stopped. After that, the egg could no longer maintain such a transformation, but just quietly floated in the liquid that was gradually turning back into transparency.
Late at night, Jon found Slughorn.
"I went into the room, but found nothing inside."
Slughorn also frowned when he heard Jon's words.
“What did you see in there?”
"A bed, a desk, a bookshelf, a chair, a mirror frame without a mirror, and an empty box."
"Are you sure there's no secret compartment in that box?"
"I tried to use the ring to absorb the magic inside, but there was nothing inside. It's not a magical item at all."
"What about the other stuff?"
Jon shook his head.
"I didn't have time to check other things because time was too tight. When I came out, I ran into that Dandy. I felt that he was already suspicious of me."
Slughorn paced up and down the office.
"Whether he has doubts or not is not a big deal. Regardless of whether we gain anything in the end, we will only stay here for two days at most. But the secret room must be checked again. Just because the box is fine doesn't mean that the other furniture is fine. I don't think Voldemort would go to so much trouble to hide such a place and have a team of Aurors watch over it when nothing is found."
Jon nodded as well.
"Christmas is only two days away, which means after tonight, we only have one day left."
The office fell into silence. Both Jon and Slughorn were thinking about how they could find the thing that Voldemort had hidden.
…
"Malfoy and his men have already encountered the people from the Wizarding World!"
Hearing the explosions and shouts coming from afar, Amycus was extremely excited.
The people he brought hid in an abandoned storage room in the manor, and during this time, he saw many teams from the Wuping Line passing by and providing support in the direction of Moody.
This was the situation he had envisioned when he first decided to separate from Lucius. Only in this way could they have a greater chance of escaping.
