Volume 7: A World with Bad Consequences Chapter 471: Worms

Just three days after Slughorn's banquet, Jon found Hunter as promised.
"I believed that you would make the right choice, and you didn't let us down, Spike."
Hunter did not show any surprise at Jon's arrival, as if he was sure that Jon would definitely agree to join them.
Then he took out a contract that had been prepared long ago and placed it in front of Jon.
"You should be aware that the current situation is far from the time to welcome the return of our true master, so there are some things we must ensure the loyalty of the participants. Therefore, you need to sign this."
Jon looked at the contents of the contract carefully. Compared with the magical contracts that he and Slughorn had guessed were about the level of the Dark Mark or the Blood Oath, the restrictions and power of this contract were not that strong.
Even if he signed a contract that would be broken in the future, he could use the universal spell on the second gem to destroy the content of the contract in his hand, without even having to use the phoenix to be reborn.
So Jon asked in an excited voice as he signed his name on the contract.
"Then can I see the real master? Where is he now?"
This is also what Jon wants to know most.
Ever since Voldemort No. 2 , no one has heard any news about him, except that Snape used himself as bait to lure out a bottle of golden sand, but even that time he did not show up in person.
John was very curious about where this most troublesome Voldemort No. 2 was hiding.
However, Hunter gave Jon a negative answer.
"The master is recovering his strength and waiting to return. During this time, he does not need our interference. All we need to do is complete the task he has assigned to us."
John was sure that Hunter was definitely not a core member of this group of Death Eaters. Being able to gather so many Death Eaters together was basically equivalent to draining out the pure blood. Voldemort No. 2 must have personally come forward to communicate with the first group of people who found him.
It was obvious that Hunter had never seen Voldemort No. 2 who had disappeared.
Jon could only ask another question.
"So what is the mission the master has given us?"
Hunter said seriously.
"Watch the Department of Mysteries."
"Watching the Department of Mysteries for what?"
"It's just a simple task of guarding the Department of Mysteries and not letting anyone else in. What else is there?" Hunter looked at Jon strangely, as if he thought this was already such a dangerous and troublesome task, why would Jon still think there was something else to do.
Jon took a deep breath.
He suppressed the turmoil in his heart and reminded himself to maintain his acting skills.
All he could say was that he felt that he had looked down upon people like Hunter enough, but he did not expect that they were even more useless and incompetent than he had imagined!
Taking up so many resources and receiving education at such a high position since childhood, how can a person be so useless?
No wonder Voldemort never expected to rely on these rubbish to accomplish his goals. When he was in the castle, he even wanted to revive himself and become a decent leader!
How did the British Ministry of Magic become like this? How can we build a pure-blood wizarding world with these insects?
Well, it’s not John’s fault that he should worry about the pure-blooded trash . On the contrary, he should be happier about being the most hostile opponent.
Jon simply shifted the question to those who stayed in the Department of Mysteries all day.
"What about Dandy and the others? I think they're almost living there, and they're patrolling there every day."
He had just joined this circle, so of course he had the qualifications to understand everything clearly, and he was not afraid of being suspected by Hunter.
Sure enough, Hunter didn't say much about Jon's question, but answered directly.
"Dandy and the others are different from us. They are the first ones to find the master, and the master certainly has a more important task for them. There is no need for you and me to ask more. Just don't forget to come to the next party."
Having said this, Jon really didn't want to continue talking at all.
It's true that there are elites among purebloods, but more than 80% of them are parasites and waste.
It was his fault. He shouldn't have expected to get any valuable information from these parasites who just party all day.
But the good thing is that after signing the contract, he and those pure-bloods who actually work in the Department of Mysteries are finally from the same faction, which will help him to better build relationships with these people.
Then Jon decisively refused Hunter's request to keep him and introduce him to his sister, and returned directly to the Department of Mysteries.
As soon as he came back, he saw the purebloods who stayed in the company discussing today's Daily Prophet.
Jon wanted to take this opportunity to get closer to these people, so he went together to read today's report. Then he found that the progress of the Wizarding World in the UK had reached Diagon Alley.
The Daily Prophet completely lost its independence during Voldemort's reign, and whatever it wanted to publish had to be controlled by the Ministry of Magic, even now that Britain was in a state of war.
And today, the Daily Prophet surprisingly reported a piece of news on the front page that was extremely unfavorable to the Ministry of Magic.
Just this morning, Diagon Alley was attacked by wizards from the Wizarding World. The Leaky Cauldron, as the gateway to this commercial street, was almost captured. Fortunately, it is very close to the British Ministry of Magic, and the supporting Aurors arrived in time to defend this magical commercial street, which is second only to the Ministry of Magic in importance.
But even so, Diagon Alley was severely damaged, and it would be impossible to accommodate travelers again in the short term.
Besides, at this point in time, not many wizards would choose to go out and spend money. Those who are capable would quickly bribe the pure-bloods in charge of exit management to escape, while those who are not capable would hide in the wilderness, waiting for the war to end.
Around John, the purebloods who saw the news all looked disdainful, as if they had already expected the British Ministry of Magic to collapse so quickly.
Jon could see that they truly believed that it was all Voldemort No. 1's fault that Britain had fallen into the current situation. If their real master came back, he would definitely be able to turn the tide of the war and counterattack France.
Looking at the report, Jon was also thoughtful.
Is the progress of the Wu-Ping Line in the UK going too smoothly?
Why is it that even when the situation has deteriorated to this point, Voldemort No. 1 still looks so indifferent?
