Volume 6: Summer Chapter 45: Food Protection
Chen Nan was amused when he heard this. "Is this a treat for you or for Mr. Lin?"
"Let's eat together," Jiang You said as he opened Ding Dong and saw that there was a discount on big-head prawns, so he ordered one. The price of pork had gone up, so he ordered one while he could still afford it. When they were almost done ordering, he asked Lin Yu, "What vegetables do you want to eat?"
"Spinach." Lin Yu said.
"I bought it. Okay." Jiang You stretched lazily. "It's a wonderful weekend. Yunyun is at home?"
"She's doing her homework at home. I'll send her a message," Chen Nan taking out his cell phone. "I'll ask her to leave home at 11:30 and come here."
Jiang You stood up and said, "I'll go and wake Jiang Mo up."
Two hours later.
Jiang You scooped up a bowl of fish soup and put some fish meat from the belly and a piece of fish roe into it.
Chen Nan took off her apron and sat down next to Yunyun. "I think Mr. Xu originally wanted to find you for the forum."
"I don't look like a cultured person at all," Jiang You put the bowl in front of Jiang Min, "You can't be picky about food, understand?"
"Me neither." said Chen Nan.
"Just watch," Jiang You picked up a piece of Alpinia hortensis and took a bite, his mouth full of fresh fragrance, "This thing looks easy, but it is very tedious to operate. I don't have the patience. Old Xu also knows that I will give him a chance."
"He doesn't know that Mr. Lin is helping you now."
"It will be fine when Jiang Mo goes to school," Jiang You saw the fish meat in Jiang Mo's bowl melted into the soup, "I have tried some ideas this year, we will talk about it then, we have to make sure that Mr. Lin has enough food," he turned his head and looked at Lin Yu, "right, Mr. Lin?"
Lin Yu raised his head, still chewing.
"Are the dishes cooked by Sister Nan delicious?" Jiang You asked him.
Lin Yu nodded and continued to eat.
"Anyway, let's thank Mr. Xu." Jiang You picked up a piece of sweet potato soaked in fat, which was soft, sticky and sweet. He asked, "Mr. Xu's daughter, how are you doing recently?"
"It's good. It seems that a professor is pursuing her."
"Professor? You're quite old, right?"
"Fortunately, he is eight years older than her. He has an ex-wife and a son. The son is with his ex-wife," Chen Nan said about what she heard. "Jia Qi was quite hesitant. She said that she felt comfortable getting along with him, but she had a lot of concerns. This kind of thing can only be handled by her, and I can't give any blind advice."
"Yes."
"Will Xiaomo go to school this year?" Chen Nan asked Jiang You.
Jiang You thought about it and said, "Maybe next year, I'll take some more time to recuperate and get stronger."
After Jiang Mo finished his soup, Jiang You served him half a bowl of rice from the kitchen and put some green spinach on the white rice. Seeing that Jiang Mo seemed unhappy, Jiang You peeled a few shrimps and put them on top.
"Don't you like the taste of spinach?" Chen Nan asked Jiang Mo.
"Being picky about food is not good." Yunyun said seriously.
Jiang Mo pulled the bowl in front of him and protected it with both hands to prevent Jiang You from piling more things on it.
Chen Nan laughed as he watched Jiang Mo eating seriously.
"Oh, right," Chen Nan suddenly thought, "for elementary school enrollment, registration information will start in early April. I remember the deadline is around the 20th. Remember, if you miss it, it will be troublesome to ask someone to add you in, and you will owe them a favor."
"I'll make a note of it." Jiang You wrote a memo on his phone and set an alarm.
While the five people in the insect house were happily having lunch, Guan Nuo and Guan Qingtong arrived at the research institute. Guan Qingtong took Guan Nuo to the seventh floor by elevator and knocked on the door of Ji Xiaozhen's office.
"Qingtong, you're here," Ji Xiaozhen's eyes fell on Guan Nuo, "This must be Xiao Nuo, come in and sit down."
After sitting down, Guan Qingtong asked, "Where's Jin Cheng?"
"Xiao Chang brought him here," Ji Xiaozhen poured two cups of hot water and placed them on the table in front of Guan Qingtong and Guan Nuo, "He is doing some simple tests on him and will be here soon."
After Ji Xiaozhen sat down, she looked at Guan Qingtong and asked, "Are you planning to leave the mountain?"
“I’m old.”
"I'm more than ten years older than you," Ji Xiaozhen leaned forward a little, "In a few days, the institute will move back to Laojin Mountain. Would you like to consider taking a position here?"
"No, I don't have the ambition to do that any more," Guan Qingtong refused. "I actually never agreed to Xiao Nuo joining the Special Operations Department."
"Mom!" Guan Nuo was a little dissatisfied.
"Look at him," Guan Qingtong smiled, "I didn't agree, but you still went in, didn't you?"
"Why don't you agree?" Ji Xiaozhen asked.
"He can have his own life, a life different from mine and Lao Sang's," Guan Qingtong took a sip of water. "Back then, we didn't have the right to make decisions for ourselves. I just hoped that my son could have such a right, but who knew that he would take the initiative to choose the Special Operations Group."
"He is a good boy," said Ji Xiaozhen.
"yes."
As they were talking, there was a knock on the door. Ji Xiaozhen got up and opened the door, and Chang Lizhang walked in with Jin Cheng.
Guan Nuo stood up and explained to Jin Cheng: "My phone is turned off. Last night I..."
"It's okay, I found it." Jin Cheng put his backpack on the ground, pulled a chair and sat down. He looked at Guan Qingtong and said, "Auntie, is it you who wanted to see me?"
"It's me." Guan Qingtong said.
Guan Nuo sat back, and Chang Lizhang also pulled a chair from the side and sat down.
Ji Xiaozhen also poured water for Chang Lizhang and Jin Cheng.
Guan Qingtong looked at Jin Cheng. He was about the same age as Guan Nuo, with thick eyebrows and big eyes. He was wearing a white T-shirt with cartoon characters printed on it and loose jeans. He looked like a cheerful young man.
"Have you seen my paintings?" Jin Cheng asked.
"I have seen it. I have seen every one of them."
"What else do you want to know?"
"When did you start having precognitive dreams?" Guan Qingtong asked.
"Let me think about it," Jin Cheng changed his sitting position and scratched his hair. " I did it occasionally when I was very young. At that time, I couldn't really tell the difference between dreams and reality. Later, my grandma might have found out. She told me not to tell anyone outside. After I grew up, I also knew not to talk nonsense."
Guan Qingtong nodded and said, "I want to hear you describe your dream in person. It should be as detailed as possible."
"Let me think about it," Jin Cheng picked up the cup and took a big sip of water. "I was sleeping in the dormitory. I stayed up all night the night before. I remember that I slept very uncomfortably, as if something was poking me on the bed. I was conscious and calm, but I couldn't wake up."
"Then you started dreaming?" Ji Xiaozhen asked.
"Yes, I felt that my consciousness was like a thread, going back and forth like this," Jin Cheng gestured with his hands, "and then, I suddenly passed through a black tube, and everything turned black all of a sudden, and I couldn't see anything. Then, after a long, long time, I came out again, and then I saw a lot of tubes, black tubes..."
