Volume 6: Summer Chapter 15 Textbook
Jiang You contacted Zou Zhichao, who lived with Meng Xianyang.
Jiang You: Xiao Zou, has Xiao Meng gone out?
Zou Zhichao quickly replied to Jiang You: He came back the day before yesterday. Do you have something to talk to him about?
Jiang You: I tried to contact him on WeChat, but he never responded and I couldn’t get through to him on his phone.
Zou Zhichao: Oh, okay, I’ll tell him when I see him when I get back.
Jiang You: By the way, are my books still on the bookshelf in your room?
Zou Zhichao: Which textbooks?
Jiang You: That’s right.
Zou Zhichao: Yes, what’s the matter?
Jiang You: Then I’ll come and get it when you get off work today.
Zou Zhichao: Okay. The book has been placed in its original place and I haven’t moved it.
After chatting with Zou Zhichao, Jiang You looked at the time. It was only half past three, still early, so he adjusted his posture, found a novel about farming, mining and raising elves and started reading. He kept reading until almost six o'clock, when he stood up reluctantly.
I walked slowly around my yard.
No elves.
Jiang You sighed, walked back to the store, turned off the fan, picked up his bag, and walked out with dragging steps.
The sunlight melted into the ground like honey.
"Jiang You!"
He heard someone calling him, he turned around and saw Chen Nan not far behind him. He stopped and waited for her to come over.
The honey-colored sunlight flows through the soft hair.
Jiang You looked at her with a smile, "Sister Nan."
Chen Nan walked up to him and saw the bag on him. "Are you going out?"
Jiang You replied, "I'm going to Lanxinyuan for something."
"Hey, do you know why they wanted to use the album to pay for the venue fee at the book signing last week?"
Jiang You followed her words and asked, "Did you know?"
"Xiao Liu discovered it. Her painting was exposed as plagiarized."
"Plagiarism?"
"Yes, and it's been full of twists and turns," Chen Nan gossiped with Jiang You with relish, "At first someone contacted her and said that if they paid her, she wouldn't expose the work. She seemed to agree, but for some reason she didn't pay in the end, so the work was exposed. Now her fans are saying that the other party is blackmailing her. Xiao Liu is really amazing. She found out when she was having her book signing, and that's probably when the other party was blackmailing her. No wonder they restricted sales and then paid her back."
“Then it is probably copied.”
"Yes, but I saw the picture she copied, and I don't think it's really similar. It's just a movement like this," Chen Nan twisted her body, then stood up straight with a smile, "I actually think Ruolan's painting is better looking. Xiao Liu said it was a copied composition, maybe only professionals can tell that," she said, and then she sighed, "Why would you copy it? It's not like you can't draw it."
"She doesn't have time."
"time?"
"Yes, and the other thing is, she's just a good painter, but not so good that she can't be replaced," Jiang You lifted his leg and walked forward slowly, "As for her fans, most of them are broad-minded and just join in the fun. If they don't post new pictures for a long time, the popularity will decrease. If they keep outputting, all the accumulated ideas, opinions, and jokes will be output, and there will be nothing left. Those who run self-media can't survive without plagiarizing. So I plan to start writing novels when I'm a hundred years old."
Chen Nan laughed out loud: "Writing with reading glasses?"
Jiang You said in a non-scientific way: "My high myopia will be offset by presbyopia when I get older, and my vision will be better, 5.3, like an eagle's."
"I believe you." Chen Nan laughed out loud.
"Really? There is a writer who started writing at the age of 85. His novel is serialized in a Chinese magazine. Seven years ago, someone asked if it had been serialized yet. Three years ago, someone else asked, "I took a look at the cover of the latest issue of that magazine in your store yesterday. It's still being serialized."
“So amazing?”
"So I decided to be better than him and start writing novels when I'm 100 years old, so I won't run out of things to write."
"What are you going to write?" Chen Nan asked.
Jiang You turned his head.
She was looking at him, with honey-colored sunshine in her eyes.
"Nanji recipe, how about it?"
"Puchi." Chen Nan was amused by him again.
"Then let's change it to a story about a fat person who successfully lost weight through hard work. Isn't that good?"
As they were talking, they walked to the entrance of Cultural Street.
After watching Chen Nan walk away, Jiang You took out his cell phone and called a taxi .
After arriving at Lanxinyuan, Jiang You sent a message to Zou Zhichao.
Zou Zhichao replied that he would be there soon.
Jiang You walked around the community and met a few acquaintances. After exchanging pleasantries, he sat down on a bench in front of the building, took out his phone, and read a few pages of a novel. The protagonist caught another sparkling elf. He sighed, put down his phone, and looked up to see Zou Zhichao.
Jiang You stood up.
Zou Zhichao also saw Jiang You. He took a few quick steps forward and said, "You're here, why don't you go up?"
"The weather is nice, it's a good time to sit and enjoy the breeze."
They walked into the building and climbed to the fourth floor. Zou Zhichao took out his key and opened the door. After entering, he said, "It's a bit messy. I'll give you the book."
Zou Zhichao turned on the light in the living room and walked straight into his room.
Jiang You stood in the living room, looking around.
There weren't many things in the living room, just a square table, three chairs, and the empty space on the table and against the wall were piled with miscellaneous items. Although it looked untidy, it was not dirty or messy.
The bedroom door was closed.
That is Meng Xianyang's room.
Footsteps sounded, and Zou Zhichao came out with three textbooks. He handed the books to Jiang You, "Are these the ones?"
"Yes," Jiang You took it, looked through it briefly, and then stuffed it into his backpack. He asked, "Have you eaten yet? Let's eat together when Xiao Meng comes back?"
"Okay, sit for a while." Zou Zhichao walked to the table and pulled out a chair.
After Jiang You sat down, Zou Zhichao also sat down. He asked, "What do you want to see him about ?"
" Nothing much, I just came here to pick up some books. I've had some free time recently, so I wanted to pick it up again."
"Oh, I see." Zou Zhichao nodded.
"Where did he go before ?" Jiang You asked.
"His grandfather passed away, and he went back to attend the funeral."
Jiang You glanced at the door of the side bedroom and asked, "Are you going to work as soon as you get back?"
"When I got up this morning..." Zou Zhichao suddenly stopped talking, "He, he looked a little strange. I thought he was sad, and then I went to work. He should..."
"What's wrong?"
"He looked at me intently. I asked him what was wrong, but he didn't say anything. I was in a hurry to go to work, so I didn't ask him again," Zou Zhichao turned his head and looked at the door of the side bedroom. "We don't usually communicate much, and I don't know him well. If I can't get through to him on his phone, maybe he is sick..."
"Who knows?"
Jiang You stood up, walked to the bedroom door, and knocked on it.
No response.
