Volume 6: Summer at Spider's End Alley Chapter 431 Controlling the Situation

Vernon looked at the boy in front of him who looked no more than seven or eight years old, and couldn't help but pull up his fat face.
"If you're a prankster, I promise I'll catch you and take you to your parents."
Jon pulled out his wand helplessly. Sometimes his appearance was the best disguise, but it also caused a lot of inconveniences at times.
In Vernon's eyes, he just saw the boy in front of him take out a small wooden stick from his sleeve, and then he slid to the side as if he was out of control, making way in front of the door.
Jon walked into the Dursleys' living room and saw a half-eaten sausage. The boy stared at Jon with shock and wondered what kind of witchcraft he used to move his father, who weighed nearly 300 pounds, aside.
Vernon was stunned for two seconds, then his face turned red and he started shouting.
"What did you just do! Who let you into my house? Get out!"
Jon ignored him. The current situation of the Dursleys was different from that in the original book. Because something happened and they didn't adopt Harry, Vernon and the Dudleys didn't know anything about magic or the existence of wizards. Even the memories of their previous meeting with the Potter family had been basically tampered with and erased for protection.
And the only person in this family who knows about magic is Penny.
So, after entering the living room, Jon shouted directly.
"Excuse me, is Penny here?"
Of course, Penny, who was busy in the kitchen, also heard the noise outside. She was still wearing an apron and she hurried out of the kitchen while wiping her wet hands on it.
"What's wrong? What happened?"
She saw Dudley, who was standing at the dining table holding a half-finished sausage and had just come to his senses.
"Mom! Mom! He just did that, and then like that, and Dad flew to the side! Yes, he used the little wooden stick in his hand! That wooden stick!"
Vernon didn't say anything. His face was livid. He had already heard from Jon's shouting that he knew Penny.
When Penny heard Dudley's description and saw the small wooden stick in John's hand, her face lost all color!
There was an expression of fear in her eyes, and she subconsciously blocked Dudley behind her!
"My sister and I have no contact anymore! We have no contact with those people! Please! We are just ordinary people! My husband and son don't even know that world exists!"
Vernon saw that Penny was panicking at the moment. Although he didn't know what his wife was afraid of, he pulled out a baseball bat from the cupboard and threatened John viciously.
"Get out! Do you hear me? I don't care who you are! You are not welcome here!"
"No! No! Don't, Vernon!" Petunia seemed to be crying out of fear, "Don't do this, they are not afraid of what you have in your hands, they are not even afraid of guns!"
Jon looked at the chaotic scene and could not help but shrugged speechlessly.
He obviously realized that Petunia mistook him for someone from the British Ministry of Magic.
As Lily's biological sister, Petunia Evans was naturally once a member of Voldemort's team. When the British Ministry of Magic was completely controlled by Voldemort, the Order of the Phoenix made proper arrangements for the families of its members. Those who were willing to leave the UK were transferred to safe places in Northern Europe, while those who were unwilling to leave would have their connections with their families completely cut off. Some even had their memories modified and cleared, and they changed their identities in the UK, separated from the magical world, and continued to live.
Petunia obviously belonged to the second category. At that time, she had already married into the Dursleys and had Dudley. Plus, she herself was not a wizard, and her only channel of communication with the wizarding world was not very good. Her relationship with her own sister was not very good either. So the Dursleys did not accept the Order of the Phoenix's arrangement to transfer them to Northern Europe, but stayed in England.
In the whole family, only Penny still has memories of her witch sister and the magical world.
Whether it was the period two years ago when Voldemort had complete control over Britain, or the current war between Dumbledore and Voldemort, neither had affected the Dursleys, which made Petunia almost forget the danger from another world.
Until today, John suddenly found this place. The information about wizards in his mind was still stuck on the Death Eaters crushing the Order of the Phoenix and the whole of Britain was ruled by Voldemort. The first thing Petunia could think of was that the relationship between her and Lily was exposed, and John was naturally Voldemort's man!
"Calm down, Mrs. Dursley. If I were who you think I was, there would be no need to engage in such nonsense as soon as I walked in. They are all superior people who would feel insulted by the sound of your voice."
Jon pulled out a chair from the side and sat down. He came here on behalf of Lily and to help her confirm some of her guesses about what Snape would do next, so he might have to stay in this living room for a while.
Penny also realized that Jon obviously had no ill intentions, and her face, which had flushed due to nervousness, gradually calmed down.
According to her understanding of those people, if John really came to arrest their family, he would start right away as soon as he entered the door without any further ado. As long as he caught them, there were plenty of ways in the magic world to get information out of their mouths and minds.
Of course, they didn't actually have any information. The only purpose of the Dursleys was to be used as hostages to threaten Lily. In addition, Lily had always been given special treatment by Voldemort because of Snape, so no one had ever thought that she had a younger sister in the past ten years.
Since John is not Voldemort's man, the fact that he could find this place can only be related to another party.
Penny stared at Jon's face, as if trying to see something from it.
"Did my sister ask you to come here? Has she found another man?"
When Jon heard her second question, he was stunned at first, and then he realized what Penny was thinking about at this moment.
"I'm Professor Porter's student. It's not what you think." Jon said speechlessly, "Aren't you guys having dinner? Don't worry about me. We can talk about some things while you eat."
Penny did not relax because of what Jon said. She stared at Jon's face and said with a gloomy expression.
"Then why did you come to us? You were about to be killed by that man, and Lily had no choice but to let you come to my house and let us protect you?"
Jon was beginning to lose his patience. He could understand that Penny wanted to protect her family from getting involved in anything dangerous, but she should at least understand everything clearly before making a conclusion. Besides, there was no way that Lily would do something that would destroy the Order of the Phoenix and bring danger to her sister.
He raised the wand in his hand, and the tip of the wand glowed red, while golden flames lit up in his eyes.
"Let's sit down and talk, okay, Mrs. Dursley and Mr. Dursley who wants to swing a baseball bat at my head. I'm not here to cause you trouble, but to help you solve the trouble, so please don't test my patience."
As he spoke, the bat in Vernon's hand instantly flew out of his hand and flew into the air, no longer under his control. Petunia was forced to sit at the dining table as if she was pressed down on the chair by some force.
Jon actually understood why Lily was unwilling to come over by herself. If she came to this house, the situation would only become worse. Penny would probably try desperately to kick her out of the house the first time she saw her, and there would be no way they could communicate peacefully.
Vernon was extremely shocked and angry at Jon's actions. He could hear that his wife was resisting Jon. Even after the baseball slipped out of his hands, he did not give up resisting. Instead, he rushed to the phone and shouted threateningly.
"I don't care who you are or who sent you here! Get out! Get out of my house now! Or I'm going to call the police, boy!"
"Lock the tongue and seal the throat."
Jon pointed the wand directly at Vernon , and the next moment, Vernon's tongue was stuck to his palate. Apart from covering his mouth with a flushed face and making a whimpering sound, he could no longer shout.
Petunia was stunned by the scene before her. She had already determined that since Jon was on Dumbledore's side and he looked so young, he would definitely not cast spells on Muggles casually. But this was completely beyond her expectations.
Just as she was about to scream, Jon had already pointed the tip of the staff back at her.
"Of course I can give you one, ma'am, if you're not calm enough."
Petunia shut up and quickly hugged Dudley's head, who was slow to react and wanted to scream but had no time to open his mouth, thus preventing him from becoming a tragic figure like his father.
"The world is finally quiet."
Jon let out a long sigh . He didn't care whether Penny was in the mood to listen to him or not, and he started talking directly.
"Now you finally listen to me seriously, right? The wizarding world is not as you thought. The Dark Lord still has the upper hand. In the past year, he suffered a major defeat in the process of swallowing up the French wizarding world. Not only did he fail to occupy France, but now it has become our base. In the most recent wizard competition, he also lost the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You know this school, so you should understand what this means. In other words, we have gotten rid of the previous exile situation and are now fighting against the Dark Lord, or we can say that we have a considerable advantage."
After briefly describing the current situation, whether Penny believed it or not was another matter, and Jon continued.
"Just recently, we not only recaptured Hogwarts, but also captured one of the Dark Lord's top lackeys, someone you know, Severus Snape. You should remember this name."
It was obvious that Penny's pupils shrank after hearing the name.
"We caught him, but he was very cunning. He escaped from France with the help of an old man who wishes to remain anonymous. Now he is in England but cannot return to his original master. He also knows that Professor Potter and I came to England to hunt him down, so the professor thinks there is a great possibility that he will do something to you next. Among all the wizards in England, he knows Professor Potter's situation best, and he also knows you. It is not difficult for him to find you if he wants to. So, just in case, the professor asked me to come to your house first, explain the situation to you, and try to wait and see. In the end, even if Snape does not come, for safety reasons, you will have to move out of here temporarily for a while."
Having said that, Jon paused, and under the frightened gazes of Penny and Dudley, he waved the wand in his hand, and the next second, the kettle on the table flew up by itself, poured a cup of tea into the cup, and then flew into Jon's hands.
After speaking for such a long time, Jon, who felt a little thirsty, drank the cup of tea that he, as a guest, had treated himself to in one gulp.
"Do you understand what I mean? If so, nod your head."
Penny nodded repeatedly like a chick pecking at rice, but she didn't dare to make a sound without John's permission.
Seeing her performance, Jon turned to look at Vernon behind him, who couldn't separate his tongue from his palate no matter how hard he tried.
"What about you, Mr. Dursley? If you can promise not to yell anymore, I will help you remove the magic from you. Of course, if your subsequent performance proves that you are actually unable to do so, then I can also help you shut up forever."
As Jon spoke, an evil smile appeared on his face, which was obviously a threat.
But Vernon couldn't take this as a threat, nor did he dare to take it as a threat. He could only nod continuously like Petunia.
Jon also kept his promise and lifted the spell on him. Vernon looked at Jon's violent breathing in fear, then ran to his wife and son, holding them in his arms.
His actions made Jon feel like a villain.
But he didn't care. The Dursleys were obviously not very accepting of special events. Especially when Petunia had some conflicts with wizards and magic, it was impossible for them to communicate with John, a wizard, in a rational state of mind.
Therefore, John had actually thought of this possibility before he came. If they could not communicate peacefully, even if it was intimidation, it was better than them being foolishly used as tools by Snape, and maybe even being thrown to Voldemort later.
As for their impression of him, Jon didn't care at all.
"You are now free to talk, so what do you think now, Mrs. Dursley?"
