Volume 5: The Burning Golden Flame Chapter 366 What is a fifteen-year-old boy thinking?
"Bang!"
Snape's hand suddenly slammed on the desk, and right in the palm of his hand was the wand that had been well-maintained to a very shiny finish!
However, after saying something that was almost certain to anger Snape, Barty Jr. moved faster.
Just as Snape grabbed the wand and before he could raise his hand, he also reached out a hand and grabbed Snape's wrist.
Snape is a true homebody.
Unless Voldemort gave him specific orders, he rarely left Hogwarts, and even rarely left his office when he had no classes.
But in addition to his job at school, Barty Jr. has also been working for Voldemort outside the school. Compared to Snape, who has hardly any exercise, he looks much stronger and more powerful.
Therefore, Snape's face turned pale, and he grabbed the wand tightly and tried to lift it up, but he couldn't get it out of Barty's hand.
"Don't be so angry, Severus. I'm not mocking you on purpose. These are all true, right? Before we talk about business, we have to talk about some related issues to guide us."
Just when little Barty was smiling and seemed to have completely controlled Snape.
Suddenly, this middle-aged man who had remained isolated raised his left fist!
Barty Jr. obviously didn't react to this. He didn't expect Snape to simply give up casting spells and fight back with the most basic melee combat.
So he took Snape's punch hard without holding back at all, and when his head was twisted to one side by the force, the smile on his face just turned into shock and anger.
The punch hit Barty Jr.'s temple directly, causing him to feel a black screen in front of his eyes instantly. If Snape's punch had been stronger, he would have fainted on the spot.
But even so, he couldn't control Snape's hand holding the wand. Surprisingly, after being able to use magic, Snape gave up swinging the wand and continued to punch little Barty who was already lying on the ground!
He pursed his pale lips, and there was not much anger on his pale face, but the emotions revealed in his eyes were enough to make everyone who looked at him feel the coldness.
“That’s enough!”
Snape didn't say anything, but continued to raise his fist towards little Barty's face, which was beginning to turn bruised and swollen. Just like what he expressed at the beginning, it seemed that he really didn't want to even say a word to communicate.
"I've said enough!"
He was greeted with another heavy punch.
“That’s enough!”
Little Barty finally couldn't bear it anymore. He burst out with strength, pushed Snape away, and his face was full of ferocity!
"The master has done enough for your request! Do you know how many of us have died in vain over the years in order not to kill that woman? What's wrong? Can't I even mention her?"
As if he had exerted too much effort, Snape's breathing became much heavier than before.
But he still didn't look up at little Barty, as if that would dirty his eyes.
He simply straightened his robe and then sat back in his seat.
"roll."
His voice was cold, but Little Batty didn't make any move to leave.
The young professor, who looked very embarrassed, gasped and straightened his robe, then sat back down opposite Snape. The ferocity and coldness on his face had disappeared, but he no longer showed that hypocritical smile. He looked expressionless, as if the beating just now had never happened.
"Even if Jon Green is a genius, he is only fifteen years old."
Ignoring Snape's dismissal, Little Barty continued the topic that had just been interrupted.
"After learning about his deeds last year, I immediately retrieved all the information about him and personally led people to the orphanage where he once lived. I used Legilimency to extract the memories of the children who had lived with him since childhood. I confirmed that he had not lied about his age, and that everything he had previously come into contact with magic was traceable."
"Following the information of the orphanage, I also found his biological father. His mother died seven years ago, and the only remaining biological father was not far from death when I found him because of taking what the mudbloods called 'heroin'. I carefully examined all the memories of his biological father and confirmed that Jon Green was his biological son, not a randomly fabricated identity."
After hearing the serious matter, Snape was not as extreme as he was at the beginning. He raised his eyes slightly, and his voice was still as cold as before.
"You investigated so much just to confirm his true identity?"
"This is important, Severus."
Little Barty leaned back in his chair nonchalantly, gently .
"If you were told everything this little mudblood had done, and then told that he was only twelve when he started doing it, and is only fifteen now, would you believe it?"
Snape remained silent, but not speaking also expressed an attitude.
"You must have expressed doubt at first, right? Of course geniuses will appear. There have been countless talented wizards in the magic world. But this little mudblood's performance is a bit too genius, right?"
Little Batty calmly expressed the thoughts that any normal person would have.
"After learning that he killed Bella and Rodolphus, and that he was the one who rescued the first and second year mudbloods last year, I thought that Dumbledore secretly assigned a very capable wizard to pretend to be a student."
"Under that young and tender appearance, there is most likely a wrinkled and gray-haired old man. Only a wizard with enough magical power and magical experience can defeat Bella and Rodolphus alone. Dumbledore ordered him to drink the Polyjuice Potion and disguised himself as a young boy, but he accomplished so many shocking things, just to discredit his master and let everyone see, 'Look, there is no need for Dumbledore himself to show up. A little mudblood who has just entered school and touched a wand for less time than we have been chanting spells has made this greatest gentleman look humiliated.'"
"But later, after a thorough investigation of Jon Green's background and finding several loopholes that could not be explained, I ruled out the possibility that this little mudblood who had troubled us in recent years was a powerful wizard in disguise."
As he spoke, Snape focused on his analysis.
The relationship between the two is very unpleasant, but at least they are now in the same camp. Understanding and dealing with Jon is a problem they all have to think about together.
Little Batty's gaze also became particularly solemn.
"First, if he was really an adult wizard in disguise, then he would not have been able to hide in Hogwarts Castle for so long."
"You and I both know that the age magic here was set up by the master himself. Dumbledore wants to circumvent it unless he comes here himself. Otherwise, without understanding the core runes, even with his Transfiguration he cannot hide the master's arrangement. Therefore, he has tried to have adult wizards disguised as students to sneak in, but they all failed. Unless his strength has completely surpassed the master, he will not be able to counter the age magic. If that is the case, then he would not have to send people to lurk here, and he would not have to wander around like a stray dog."
"Second, the Goblet of Fire election."
"There is no problem with the cup, and it has been properly kept before it was taken out. No one can touch it unless the Triwizard Tournament is restarted. After the Goblet of Fire was taken out, it has been taken over by our people. I can be sure that no one has tampered with it. In other words, in this case, it will only select students from participating schools as warriors according to the rules. If Jon Green was impersonated by another person, he would never be selected with this name, and the magic on the Goblet of Fire would deny him eligibility to participate."
"third……"
Little Barty narrowed his eyes.
"I specifically asked the master about this issue, and he told me that Jon Green was not pretended by any other wizard. He was himself, and he was sure of that."
Snape just looked at him.
"So? You confirmed that he is himself, a fifteen-year-old who has only been exposed to magic for less than four years. What does this reveal to us?"
Little Barty crossed his legs and asked again.
"Again, what were you doing when you were fifteen, Severus?"
The look in Snape's eyes began to become dangerous again, and his hand was already approaching the wand on the desk. Little Barty seemed to have noticed his behavior and quickly added the next sentence.
"You are so fragile inside. I told you, this is just a normal question. I didn't mean to mock or insult that woman."
He continued to ask with a serious look.
"We can also ask it another way: what should all the children in the world normally think when they are fifteen years old? No matter whether they are geniuses or humble and mediocre."
Snape was silent for a moment, then he spoke coldly.
"Shouldn't you ask this question to a fifteen-year-old student?"
Little Barty shook the wand in his hand and a smile appeared on his face again.
"Just in the first week of school, when the first competition was underway, do you know how many couples I met in the garden behind the castle who were eager to meet again after a long separation? What age do you think they were?"
We are all smart people. Since Barty has said this much, it is impossible for Snape not to understand what he wants to express.
"Do you think these people are the same as Jon Green?"
"Why not? I don't deny that little Mudblood is talented. There may be natural geniuses in magic, but it is impossible for a person to be born with experience and emotions, right?"
Little Barty looked into Snape's eyes, and there was no trace of joking in his gaze.
"A fifteen-year-old boy is at the age when he is full of interest in the opposite sex. This is not determined by talent or anything like that. Just like you, Severus... don't look at me like that. Okay, I'll change my partner. For example, I have already changed three girlfriends in school when I was in my grade. And the master, I remember he once talked to us servants. When he first became the head student, there was no shortage of female students around him who were interested in him, and he also rewarded some of them."
"This is human nature, right? Any fifteen-year-old boy cannot avoid the opposite sex's active displays of affection, unless he has been exposed to these since childhood, or he is not interested in women. But obviously from the information I have learned about Jon Green, he does not meet the above two conditions."
After he said this, there was silence for a few seconds, and then Snape asked the most fundamental question directly.
"What do you want to do?"
Little Barty said softly with a smile on his face.
"According to the tradition of the Triwizard Tournament in previous years, we will hold a grand dance party on Christmas Eve, and during this dance party, every student warrior is required to bring his own dance partner to lead the dance."
"In that charming atmosphere, with soft music and dancing, after the lead dance, a 15-year-old boy's female companion asked him for a kiss. Do you think he would refuse?"
Snape's face was stiff.
"I don't think Dumbledore would allow his students to come into contact with female students who have a relationship with us."
"Of course I will make arrangements for this." Little Barty crossed his fingers and placed them on the tip of his nose, which made his eyes look extremely dark and strange. "I have talked to you for so long just to tell you one thing. Can you mix a magic potion that has no color and taste, has a certain adhesion, and once it is eaten, it will definitely kill the person?"
Snape did not answer immediately. He stared at little Barty's horrible face, which was still beaten by him, as if he was speechless about the cruelty of this man.
It was a long time before he spoke again.
"Does the master know your plan?"
"Before the master left the castle, I reported it to him. He neither agreed nor refused. He just told me that the matter in the castle was for you and me to decide together."
This answer was somewhat confusing. At least Snape did not understand from it what Voldemort's attitude was towards Barty Jr.'s next action.
But after hearing what little Batty said, his eyes became empty and cold again.
"Even if the existing potions don't have such effects, I can still mix them for you."
After hearing Snape's answer, little Barty still had that gentle smile on his face.
But the curve of the corners of his mouth made people feel a little creepy in the candlelight.
