Volume 4: White Devil Chapter 259 Bill's Cocktail Party
Bill held a private cocktail party at a small art gallery in Miami. The owner of the gallery, Gerardel Arias, is a staunch supporter of Bill Clinton and also the brother of Hillary's sister-in-law, Maria Rodham.
Why did Bill rush over whenever there was a problem in the Democratic Party in Miami? Because his wife Hillary's two younger brothers maintained local connections for him here. Hillary has two younger brothers. The first brother, Hugh Rodham, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. He served as the president of the Stormtrooper fraternity in college and was considered a prominent figure on campus. After graduation, he originally wanted to become an ideal international volunteer teacher, and for this purpose he went to teach in South America where education is scarce. If he continues to develop in this way, he may become a social activist and educator who can win many awards.
But unfortunately, he has a sister named Hillary. When Bill first ran for Attorney General of Arkansas, Hugh was called back by Hillary from Columbia to join Bill's campaign team. Two years later, Bill ran for Governor of Arkansas again and succeeded. Shortly after his success, Bill, with his status as governor, helped Hugh obtain an advanced law degree from the University of Arkansas. After obtaining the degree, Hillary used her and Bill's connections in the legal community to arrange for Hugh to go to Florida, where he served as an investigator for the public prosecutor in Dade County. Now he is the public defender of the Miami Drug Court. His wife, Maria Rodham, is of Cuban descent and a lawyer who graduated from the University of Miami School of Law. She specializes in real estate-related laws. The two got married in 1886, and the couple cooperated well after marriage. Hugh, with his status as a commune defender, was grateful to many drug addicts and even ordinary people in Miami, because his job was to prevent large numbers of low-level drug addicts from being arrested, and his wife gained the trust of many Miami tycoons because of her mastery of real estate law.
The couple are already well-known in Miami. What's even more bizarre is that the husband is a Democrat and his Cuban-American wife is a Republican, but this does not affect their relationship at all.
The second younger brother, Anthony Rodham, has an even more legendary experience than his older brother. He participated in the election team of his future brother-in-law during college, and his academic qualifications are the same as his brother, with an advanced degree in law from the University of Arkansas. After graduation, he did not work in a law-related job, but first worked as a consultant in some companies, traveling all over the United States, from Texas, Arkansas, to Maine, and his hometown of Chicago. To put it simply, he made money for his sister and brother-in-law that they were not convenient to pay for themselves, until he got into trouble in a Chicago public housing project and was shot. Fortunately, he was lucky enough not to die. After that, Bill helped him get a job as a correctional officer in a Chicago prison, but this job made him, who was used to big scenes, very uncomfortable. He eventually contacted his brother Hugh and went to Miami to serve as an investigator and private detective for his brother.
It can be said that the metropolis of Miami is one of Bill Clinton’s important bases.
After Paige helped Tommy and Otilia open the car door, the two of them walked arm in arm towards the main entrance of the gallery under the bright lights. They passed through the living gallery, where Bill and Hillary were welcoming every couple of guests that night. When they saw Tommy and Otilia appear, both of them immediately showed surprise. Bill and Tommy hugged each other, while Hillary and Otilia kissed each other intimately. Then, they hypocritically exchanged kisses. Bill gentlemanly kissed Otilia's cheek lightly, while Tommy needed to lean over and let his face touch Hillary's lightly.
"Thank you for coming, Tommy." Bill always had that hearty smile on his face.
Tommy shrugged and responded with a smile: "Of course, you know, Otilia would never miss a topic like environmental protection. As her boyfriend, I have to support her."
"Otilia, you look so radiant and charming tonight." Hilary next to her also praised Otilia in a sincere tone.
Otilia laughed and joked: "Diane, I bet you will say this to every female guest who comes to the party tonight."
"Yes, that's what she did." Bill next to him said.
All four of them laughed, and then Bill patted Tommy on the back and said, "Go in and ask the bartender to prepare you a special drink. Enjoy the reception, and wait for Diane and I to greet all the guests, then sit down and chat."
"Thank you again for coming tonight, Tommy," Hillary also spoke.
Leaving the politician couple to continue serving as greeters, Tommy took Otilia's arm and continued to walk into the hall. Because it was an exhibition hall of a gallery, it looked more artistic than an ordinary cocktail party, but the procedure was no different. A small band in the corner played soothing dance music, and there were more than a dozen pairs of men and women dancing ballroom dance to the music. Some guests were sitting on the sofas nearby, or drinking and chatting in the cigar and cigarette area.
Ottilia knew more people than Tommy. At least as soon as they entered the hall, before Tommy could pour a glass of mead from the waiter's tray, two women came up to greet Ottilia. They were obviously old acquaintances of Ottilia. Ottilia introduced Tommy to them, and then the husbands of the two women appeared in time. The six people began to chat meaningless nonsense like old friends.
Fortunately, this situation did not last long, as Stephen also arrived. The only thing that surprised Tommy was that this guy brought Jeff's sister-in-law Gina to the cocktail party. Tommy thought that this guy could find a woman of more noble status to accompany him.
Otilia, who was already used to it, stayed behind to chat with a few people about the recent arrangements of the New Century Foundation. Tommy and Stephen sat in the cigar area and watched Gina, the country girl, curiously looking around the entire cocktail party venue and tasting various drinks and food according to the waiter's recommendations.
"Why did you bring Gina here? Now that boy is in your hands, your relationship with her is over, do you understand?" Tommy took a sip of the mead and said to Stephen.
Stephen was choosing cigars at the waiter's recommendation, saying, "It doesn't matter. Bill and Diane don't need to maintain a relationship with my female companion anyway. It doesn't matter who my wife is. What they need is the support of the Bean family."
"I'm not worried about your impolite behavior, buddy. I'm worried that Gina is a cheerful and innocent silly girl. Don't let this hypocritical upper-class drinking party ruin her." Tommy said, "Jeff's family are all innocent and good people. They are not suitable for this kind of place."
Before they could say a few words, Hillary's brother Hugh appeared. He was more familiar with Stephen and came over to say hello. Tommy exchanged a few words with him and stood up. He looked at Ottilia, who was still surrounded by people chatting and didn't even have the chance to ask her to dance with them. In the end, he could only walk to the bar.
He put the wine glass in his hand on the bar, then leaned back on it, looking at the guests tonight with boredom. Bill and his wife had already entered and were chatting with some people in a very friendly manner. Tommy knew that it would not be long before Bill would appear in front of him and talk to him about the issue of Rosario Kennedy.
Just as he was thinking about how to talk to the other party about this, his hand subconsciously reached for the wine glass on the bar, but it was empty. He turned his head and found that a brown-haired beauty in an elegant evening dress had appeared beside him. She was holding his wine glass with half a glass of wine left in it, observing him with a smile.
"If I remember correctly, that glass of wine was mine," Tommy said with a smile.
The woman nodded. "I know."
Then he raised the remaining glass of wine, put it to his mouth and drank it all. While drinking, his eyes were still looking at Tommy, full of teasing.
"Louise Deville, of..."
"I'm from Illinois, graduated from the State University of New York with a major in political science, and currently works as the external relations secretary for Rosario Kennedy's campaign team." Tommy followed the other party's self-introduction and finished it in one breath.
The teasing expression on the woman's face suddenly turned a little awkward.
"Before you knew who Jeff Lavine was, his campaign manager had already figured out the general information of the campaign team members of all the powerful candidates in District 18." Tommy turned around and snapped his fingers at the bartender behind the bar, signaling him to prepare another glass of wine for him, and then continued.
Louise Deville quickly returned to her previous bright expression. She said to Tommy with a playful look in her eyes, "I just got the information about you yesterday, Tommy Hawke, Vox TV, BT TV, EFF Foundation, Actor Company, Sealine..."
"If you want to remind me how many shares I hold in the company, I don't think it's necessary. I have a special company to manage my investment, and the accounting is also handed over to KPMG. I think they can explain it more clearly than you." Tommy took the wine glass handed over by the bartender: "It's better to get straight to the point. Let me introduce you. Did you see the lady who was surrounded by four women but still attracted many men to look at her frequently? She is my girlfriend. Usually, when she accompanies me to a place, no other woman will make me tempted."
"are you sure?"
"I'm absolutely sure." Tommy took a sip of wine. "Even if a more beautiful woman really appeared, I wouldn't be tempted, because she and I were in bed a few hours before coming here, just to make sure there would be no accidents."
"A cautious man."
"You can also just say that I've been squeezed dry. Not to mention you, the beautiful Miss Louise Deville, even if the American beauty pageant champion showed up at the cocktail party tonight, I'd still be a genuine gentleman."
"Tommy, wow, I think you've met Louise?" Bill came over with a drink and joined the conversation: "Louise and Rona are Maria's good friends. Do you know Maria? Hugh's wife."
As he was talking to Tommy casually, Hillary's brother Hugh Rodham, who had been waiting nearby, came over holding his wife Maria's hand. At this time, the Cuban-American female lawyer Maria extended her hand to Tommy and said, "Mr. Hawke, nice to meet you."
Tommy shook hands with the other man, looked at Bill and smiled: "What should I say?"
Bill is a very charming guy, tall, handsome and likes to be in the spotlight. Whether you need a man as a buddy, or a woman needs a man with a big penis and good sex drive to have an affair, he is the best choice.
When this guy was running for governor of Arkansas, his campaign philosophy was not friendly enough to female voters. This gave his opponents the opportunity to attack him and made female voters dislike him. But Bill couldn't deny it directly because he had to insist on it for the support of his financial sponsors. But in order to regain his impression points, this guy planned a news event. He went to a restaurant with his wife for dinner, and suddenly a chandelier fell. Bill's first reaction at the time was to throw his wife under him, and the chandelier hit his back and shattered.
This news made headlines in the state, and Hillary, as his wife, gave an interview afterwards, thanking her for having such a caring, reliable and brave husband. Bill then took the opportunity to tell all women in Arkansas that he would protect all women in Arkansas as he would protect his wife.
This incident caused Bill's support rate among female voters to almost skyrocket. All women felt that he was a truly good man. After all, when the accident happened, he threw his wife under him and blocked the dangerous blow.
But in fact, the chandelier was specially made of candy, and the camera lenses appeared in the restaurant with various reasonable excuses to ensure that his movements were captured at the first time. In order to make his and Hillary's reactions at the time look more real, the team even hired professional acting teachers to guide them.
What's even more bizarre is that this idea was thought of by a female advertising planner when she was having an affair with him. The fact that his cheating lover could be fucked by him while also helping him think of ways to win the election and attract female voters to support him shows how terrifying this guy's charm is to women.
Anyway, Tommy had instructed the bodyguards around Otilia that when Otilia met this guy, the security should be doubled than in Africa, to prevent this bastard who couldn't control his zipper from seducing his wife.
Bill waved his hand, and the others stepped back a few steps to leave space for the two of them. Then he smiled and said to Tommy, "If you want to set up some business in Miami, Rona is obviously a better choice than Jeff Lavin you chose. Do you see the couple chatting with Diane on the sofa in the distance? They are Rona and her ex-husband David. They are both good people who are willing to help others, especially David. He sacrificed his political life for his friends. Such good people deserve rewards, Tommy."
"What did this guy do, Bill? You'd better listen to your wife, stop hanging out with guys like that, and pay attention to your image." Tommy couldn't help but tease when he heard Bill seriously tell him that the couple were good people worthy of investment.
Bill lowered his voice slightly. "David was the mayor of Miami before. He was also the campaign manager for Bochi Bayh's presidential campaign. He has deep connections in the political circle and is willing to help others, but this also ruined him. When he contacted a state judge to try to reduce the sentence of a senator's son, he was wiretapped by the police and was eventually arrested for conspiracy to bribe. But he didn't betray anyone and took all the charges on himself. He wanted a divorce because his political career was over. In fact, David was Rona's real campaign manager. Tom Chaffee, the ostensible campaign manager, was David's secretary when he was mayor. He hoped that Rona would inherit his political legacy."
"I told you, Bill, Jeff was an accident. Didn't Stephen tell you about his artistic dream?" Tom took out a cigarette, lit it, and took a puff. "I didn't select any candidates at all. It was just a game."
Bill sighed. He also knew that this young man would not give him a perfunctory response because their relationship was much closer than it seemed to outsiders. Not to mention that Tommy provided funds for him to be active in politics, the two TV networks, Vox and BT, that Tommy currently owned were enough to provide him with extremely amazing communication power during his campaign. Let's put it this way, if the conflict between Rona and Tommy was really irreconcilable this time, Bill would definitely choose to support Tommy and stand up for Jeff Lavine, whom Tommy had chosen, and abandon the helpful good friend he just mentioned.
But before the worst situation occurs, he must try his best to solve the problem and avoid a real break.
"Stephen did say that. Well, now can you change the doll for your game? Replace Jeff with Rona. Whatever joy the plumber can bring you, I'll have Rona and David provide you with double the amount." He said with a wry smile.
Tommy clinked his glasses with Bill, drank the remaining wine, motioned to the bartender for a refill, and then said to Bill, "Give me a drink so I can think about it?"
Bill patted Tommy on the shoulder and then walked away, heading towards where Rosario and David were.
"I'm sorry, Tommy." As soon as Tommy picked up the glass and handed it back, Hilary came over, looked at Tommy sincerely and said:
"I'm sorry to ask you to accompany Otilia, but Bill always thinks he is very charming. I don't think a handwritten invitation from him will be more attractive to you than Otilia. We can't lose such a seat, especially since Hugh, Maria and Anthony are all in Miami. They need David and Rona's help."
Tommy took out his cigarette box and handed it to Hillary, who skillfully put it in her mouth and lit it. Few outsiders knew about her smoking habit. This small cocktail party tonight was basically for Bill and her die-hard friends in Miami, so there was no need to worry about it being spread, so she lit up a cigarette.
"What do you want to hear me say?" Tommy asked with a smile as he got the other person a glass of wine.
Hillary took the wine glass with the hand holding the cigarette and took a sip, looking at her husband who was now taking over to comfort Rona and David: "Otilia just chatted with me and said that she was about to end her work at KeyBank."
"So?"
Hillary turned her head and looked at Tommy: "I can introduce the law professor from my alma mater, Yale Law School, to help your saintly wife start her new job from a higher starting point."
"Compared to Bill, I still like you who are more pragmatic, Diane." Tommy smiled:
"Rosario is saved, but he can only inherit Jeff's political legacy. Jeff must be elected to fulfill his dream. But don't worry, he will resign from Congress soon because I have new plans for him. According to the constitution, after Jeff resigns, the Democratic Party Office of the 18th District can recruit Rosario to take Jeff's seat."
After hearing Tommy's easy agreement, Hillary did not show any joy. Instead, she blew out a puff of smoke and then drank a sip of wine irritably: "He also graduated from Yale. He could have said what I just said to you, but he lacks the courage to go further. Why do I have to make sacrifices for him every time?"
Tommy smiled as he looked at Otilia who was walking towards him: "Because of love, Diane, look at Otilia, I also selflessly devote myself to her, this is love."
"Before love really comes to you, is there anything else you want me to convey?" Hilary smiled at Otilia and asked with a smile.
Tommy glanced at the nervous brown-haired beauty Louise Deville next to him and said, "Ms. Rosario Kennedy doesn't have to work hard during this period, but someone has to do the heavy lifting for her. What do you think is the success rate of my asking someone to invite Ms. Deville to join Jeff's campaign team?"
"Go to hell, Tommy." Hillary cursed softly, then walked towards Otilia: "You are the same as that bastard Bill."
