Volume 4: White Devil Chapter 256 Beast Fighting

InterContinental South Bay, Miami.
A dozen staff members are making final adjustments to the lighting and some on-site arrangements of the Business Conference Center.
Evan Wood, deputy campaign manager and spokesman for 32-year-old Democratic candidate Rosario Kennedy, stood on the podium. A huge bust of Rosario was hung on the wall behind him. He tapped the microphone lightly with his fingers, and a loud knocking sound came from the speakers.
He stretched his arms forward, holding the microphone horizontally, trying to keep the microphone as far away from himself as possible, then turned on the headset in his ear, maintained this weird posture and spoke softly:
"Jennifer, I can smell the stupidity emanating from your brain from two miles away."
Although the microphone had poor sound reception due to the distance, it still transmitted his words clearly and completely. The other workers who were busy at the scene were a little stunned when they heard it. They subconsciously stopped what they were doing and looked towards the podium.
Evan took the microphone back and put it to his mouth, then turned his head to look in the direction of the passage:
"How many times have I told you to pay attention to details? Do you want all the guests to know how beautiful your moans are, Jennifer? Turn down the volume of the headset! Then, replace this damn microphone with a more professional one for politicians! Avoid having Rona listen to the prompts in the headset while the guests at the scene listen to it with her!"
A middle-aged woman in the passage, wearing glasses and wearing old-fashioned clothes and wearing a work ID, was startled by Evan's action, but she didn't get angry. She just couldn't help but ask back:
"Why can't we choose the Four Seasons Hotel, the Miami Convention Center, or the Xuna International Hotel? There are too many details in this hotel, the lighting, the sound, and the microphones that make you angry."
"Since the owner of this hotel, Steve Muth, is a supporter of the Democratic Party and donated $100,000 to Rona this time, I can tolerate all the bad problems of the hotel and choose to criticize you more harshly, unless you also donate $100,000." Evan loosened the tie around his neck with his hands. "The poor owner only has one request. He hopes that Rona's cocktail party will be held here. He hopes that those big shots will drink and mingle in his hotel and get to know those people through Rona's introduction."
Tomorrow, Rosario Kennedy's fundraising dinner will be held here. Some bigwigs in the Democratic Party and long-term donors will attend. Although Evan doesn't want to say it too bluntly, he has been in this business for so long, and this is the fact. Through the introduction of Rosario Kennedy, the protagonist of this dinner, everyone completed rounds of negotiations, and then in view of Rosario Kennedy's hard work in pimping, they left some large checks as pimping fees.
This is the standard process of a fundraising dinner for an American politician candidate. The donor finds new political thugs who can help him gain more benefits, and the politician finds a donor who can give him a big check to help him climb to a higher position. The organizer gets the support of both parties.
"Evan, something went wrong. We received news that someone is using the trial bill Rona pushed two years ago to attack her." A team member quickly walked up and whispered in Evan's ear, "Someone is shooting at the gathering place to attract everyone's attention, and then spread the news that Rona's... "
Evan turned his head to look at the other person, and before he could finish, he immediately asked, "Shooting? Were any civilians killed?"
"No, we were shooting at the sky." The colleague shook his head and spoke.
Evan showed a regretful expression on his face. "What a pity! If someone died, we could find an excuse to attack Rona. Why didn't anyone die? Was that guy a bad shot? Never mind. It doesn't matter. Let's find some serious excuses to lock him up until the election."
“But the other party’s lawyer has already rushed over and arranged for him to pay bail and leave the police station.” The colleague said the latest situation he had.
Evan Wood's eyebrows were almost twisted together, staring at the other party in disbelief: "Has the police department gone crazy? The combination of the words 'guns' and 'assembly place' means that even if no one is killed, they can't let a bad gunman go so easily. At least they should first investigate before deciding whether to allow bail."
"The police station checked and found that the gun was not lethal. It was just a prop commonly used in movies. It could make sounds comparable to real guns and could ricochet shells, but it couldn't fire bullets. So the other party's lawyer insisted that it was all just a prank. The most important thing is that many reporters recorded this prank." The colleague sighed and explained to Evan.
"Why the hell didn't you tell me right away!" Evan couldn't help but widen his eyes when he heard the other party say that the gunman was just using a prop gun to play a prank at the rally.
"You didn't wait for me to finish." The colleague then told him all the news he had received, from the death of the elderly couple's son and daughter-in-law, to their complaint to the city council which had not received a response, to the man who broke into a campaign rally on Coral Street in the South District and opened fire and was taken away today, and finally to the election candidate Jeff Rush who took the couple's grandson away after giving a brief speech to the people present.
After Evan Wood heard this, he felt his scalp tightening. Then he looked at his colleague and asked, "What do you think about this?"
“It’s obvious that this was a method designed to target Rona, but it’s not very clever. It seems like a messy farce, otherwise this incident wouldn’t have happened outside District 18.” A colleague gave his opinion.
Evan exhaled slowly:
"A farce, a messed up farce? Do you know why I can become the deputy manager, but you can only run errands? You lack observation of details. This is not a farce, but an absolute tragedy for Rona. The person who designed this incident was able to keep everyone at the scene out of it. No one was injured in the onlookers, and the criminals who shot were just pranks. The media reporters who came to interview got gimmick news. That candidate got the most . He got the child and the two elderly people. He became the gatekeeper of this miserable family. Anyone who wants to contact them must give him benefits."
"The prop gun was fired into the sky. No one was injured at the scene, but Rona, who had never appeared at the scene, was about to be hit by bullets of public opinion and rumors."
"The most important thing is that the gunshot was the signal for the start of the battle. Jeff didn't need to go into battle bare-chested. He had a better choice. After the Republican Cuban women knew about this, they were probably eager to use it to attack Rona, swallow Rona's Cuban vote, and then show goodwill to the Jews."
"Where are Rona and Tom?" Evan finally asked about Rosario Kennedy and the campaign manager, Tom Chaffee.
A colleague said, "Rona took people to the city government to check all the official statements related to the bill two years ago to ensure that even if the other party filed a lawsuit, there should be no chance. Tom is preparing to contact Martin Hart, the head of Jeff Lavin's team, to see if there is a chance to sit down and talk."
“Who is Jeff Lavine’s financial backer?”
"On the surface, it's a charity foundation called Crossroads. Publicly disclosed data shows that Jeff Lavine received a donation of 200,000 yuan from the foundation before, and another donation of 120,000 yuan two days ago. It can be confirmed that the foundation was established for Jeff Lavine's campaign, but due to the characteristics of a charity foundation, the other party has the right not to disclose the source of the foundation's funds, so we don't know who the real sponsor is."
"Political dirty money is easy to investigate. Just because it can't be found through public channels doesn't mean it can't be found through unconventional channels. If it's political dirty money, the foundation probably doesn't have much money to mobilize. We can give the media advertising fees to shut them up temporarily, drain their funds, and then wait for the sponsor to surface." Evan clearly stated his plan:
"Have the secretaries prepare a balanced press release immediately, making Rona look shocked, distressed, sad, and regretful, but not admitting anything. Then have our 'friends' around Republican candidate Ileana Letty leak the news to the newspapers, saying that this incident was probably planned by Ileana Letty to smear Rona, because she has no chance of winning against Rona, who has more supporters among the Cuban community, and the Florida Senate is investigating why Elijah's husband Dexter resigned as a state senator and became the state attorney general in order to cover up the scandal of her private school falsifying student resumes, directly closing the case and stopping the investigation. She used Rona as a scapegoat and fabricated this fabricated scandal."
"Aren't you planning to use that 'friend' when the face-to-face confrontation occurs after the party election? And aren't you planning to make some arrangements against Jeff Lavin?" The colleague asked curiously after hearing Evan's arrangements. Moreover, Evan's series of arrangements did not target Jeff Lavin, who actually planned this incident.
Evan shook his head slightly: "No, it doesn't matter who the real murderer is. What's important is to keep a close eye on the strongest opponent in the arena."
"Political elections are like the Colosseum. Once there is any sign of trouble, the beast will absolutely do its utmost to attack the opponent who poses the greatest threat to it, because if they get rid of it, all that will be left will be delicious food." Tommy said while sitting on the sofa in Jeff's house and chewing on an apple.
Jessica, Martin, Jeff, Alan, Zack, and Marcus stood in a row by the window of the living room, looking outside at the workers who were unloading sofas and desks from a truck. Paige was taking out money to pay a big black man with an angry face who kept looking towards the window.
"Boss, is this the reason why you were chased and beaten by that black furniture store owner? Because he thought you were the biggest threat to him in the furniture store at that time?" Martin turned his head and asked Tommy who was eating an apple.
Tommy sighed, "What else can I say? Should I tell the truth? Because I liked a desk in that store and wanted to buy it. There was an exquisite photo frame on the desk. I liked the frame, but I didn't like the cheap photo inside. So I picked up the colored markers in the pen holder next to it and drew something on the photo. I didn't mean any harm, but when the boss saw my work, he went crazy and wanted to teach me a lesson."
"Why?" Martin frowned and asked in confusion, "Generally speaking, as long as the guests pay generously, the niggers don't care about details like the guests' rude attitude."
"Because those black kids in the photo were born to him and his wife. He was really fertile. All six of them were his. Without knowing it, I painted three of his kids white and the other three yellow." Tommy bit his apple. "Fortunately, Page and his badge were quite intimidating to black people. Otherwise, I guess that guy was going to paint me black with asphalt."
Martin was stunned for a moment, then he said, "You... went to a black furniture store to buy furniture, and painted the skin of black children white?"
"Don't think of accusing me of racism. I painted it yellow. I like people of color." Tommy swallowed the apple in his mouth and said, "Changing the subject, how was the meeting between you, Jeff, Alan, and Zack at the union?"
Martin retracted his gaze and shook his head. "It's a bit difficult. The union chairman has some Cuban ancestry. After learning about Jeff's campaign slogan, he didn't kill Jeff on the spot. I think he is a very cultured person. It's impossible to discuss any issues at all."
"Don't be so absolute. If we can talk to Castro, why can't we talk to a half-Cuban bastard union chairman? The union's demands, the personal demands of the union's top brass, if you think about it carefully, they must exist. It's impossible that all these plumbers are really saints. Even if they just want to know where to find cheap prostitutes, as long as they have the desire, we can find an opportunity to get involved with them." Tommy looked at the four people who had visited the union before and urged them to think about it carefully.
How could the plumbers not have demands? Tommy believed that they must have, but these guys were not observant enough.
Jeff, Martin, and Zack all shook their heads slowly, indicating that they had not found anything. Only Alan thought hard for a while before he said to Tommy uncertainly:
"Not really. I've heard some rumors that even though that guy has a wife and kids, he's actually a gay. I went to the union to get free legal advice, and when I went to the bathroom to poop, I heard two guys peeing outside talking about it in the toilet cubicle."
Tommy immediately perked up and sat up straight on the sofa. "See! I told you that as long as you are human, you will have desires. Well done, Alan. Go to the toilet more often in the future. I will suggest that Martin pay you double your hourly wage for going to the toilet."
"Impossible! That guy is stronger than me, and he is actually a gay? He has a wife and two kids, and he actually likes men?" Jeff looked at his friend in disbelief.
Allen shrugged. "I'm not sure. I just heard it in the bathroom. I don't even know who said it."
"That's not important. We just happen to have a real gay beauty in our team, Marcus! Look, which gay can resist your charm." Tommy immediately smiled at Marcus: "I think..."
"My position in this team is a stylist, not a prostitute!" Marcus glared at Tommy in dissatisfaction.
Tommy immediately offered a price: "If Jeff can pay you double, would you be willing to do this part-time in addition to your main job as a stylist?"
"I...it depends on whether the man suits my taste." Marcus hesitated.
Tommy continued to encourage, "You can put a poster of Tom Cruise in your pocket, and when you go to bed , stick the poster on that guy's face! Or posters of other male stars you like, such as Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan or even Michael Tyson... and I think..."
"Uh... I don't think Marcus is suitable." Alan interrupted Tommy's temptation.
Tommy looked at Allen, who was trying to stop him from instigating Marcus to seduce the other person, in confusion: "Why? If anyone says Marcus is a normal man, I will throw Marcus and him into a room alone for a week."
Allen spoke seriously: "I remember now, yes, the two people urinating outside, it is certain that he is a zero."
Tommy's eyes widened. "A man stronger than Jeff?"
Seeing Alan nod, Tommy looked at Martin:
"Okay, Martin, are there any of those interns on your team who are gay and serve as stickmen?"
"No." Martin shook his head quickly.
Seeing Martin's evasive tone and attitude, Tommy complained very dissatisfiedly: "Martin, I have said many times that when building a team, we must focus on diversity and not discriminate against homosexuals and blacks. America is an inclusive country. I also support racial equality. Every time I go shopping in the supermarket, I will remember to donate an extra dollar to the Children of Colored Foundation while paying the bill."
"I know, but excuse me, I've been with you for so long, boss, but I've never seen you go to the supermarket to buy things in person." Martin opened his mouth and said speechlessly.
Tommy ate most of the apple in a few bites. "That's not important. What's important is that one of you is willing to stand up to that Cuban. Literally."
Seeing that no one said anything, Tommy stood up, threw the apple core into the trash can, and looked at the men: "Think about the generous compensation Jeff paid you, don't you feel ashamed? You are not willing to sacrifice anything for him! How dare you stand here? Marcus, if you eat some honor and dignity, can you play the second one?"
This time, Marcus turned around and ignored Tommy's crazy words. One must be a heartless beast to say such words.
But Tommy obviously didn't care: "Well, if not, I suggest that Martin, Alan, Zack and Lance, the car cleaner outside, draw lots to decide who will step forward. Martin, as a manager, set an example and you go first..."
When Martin heard his boss ask him to be the first to step forward and take the lead, he quickly turned his brain and suddenly had an idea. He said excitedly: "Alan! Alan! Alan is the best candidate! Jeff told me that Alan once went to the zoo to enjoy zebras, giraffes and other animals."
Tommy looked at Alan in shock. "Go to the zoo and enjoy yourself? You are the most important member of this team. We need employees with diverse sexual orientations like you. When faced with various difficulties, throwing you out is like being invulnerable."
"Me? You want me to fuck a man as strong as a bear? When did I become a gay?" Alan looked at Martin and then at Tommy with a confused look on his face and asked.
Martin checked his watch: "One minute ago."
"How come I didn't know I was gay?" Alan frowned.
Martin continued: "You don't need to know, you just need to do what you need to do?"
"What's up?"
"Dry."
At this time, Paige walked in from outside and handed Tommy's phone to him: "Boss, Mr. Stephen Bean called."
"What's the matter? Don't bother me if there's nothing else. Just focus on taking care of the old couple and the child." Tom said after taking the phone.
Stephen's voice rang on the phone: "Lobbyists are here. Rosario Kennedy's campaign manager, Tom Chafee, is waiting for my notification in the hotel lobby."
"Didn't I teach you how to deal with guys like that?" said Tom dissatisfiedly.
Stephen continued, "The Republican Ileana Letty's campaign team also sent a third person to rush over, and he is also waiting in the hotel lobby. So, I will give them a gun each and let them duel in the lobby. Whoever survives will talk to me?"
"No need. Just let me ask my older, mature female mistress to find a lawyer for the old man. Once we see the lawyer, the fight in the Colosseum will officially begin."
