Volume 4: White Devil Chapter 165 Boss, You Are a Friend of Black People
Rick Luther devoted himself to the preparation and production of the BT TV program. Although Tommy's program ideas made him feel a little horrified when he first heard them, he soon calmed down and thought it was nothing to be surprised about. This kind of program would be surprising if it appeared in other countries, but it was only natural for it to happen in the United States.
After all, this country even has an adult reality show where a male guest can sleep with three female guests in one night, and a large-scale children's science program about guns sponsored by the National Rifle Association and weapons manufacturers, any of which sounds more shameless than Tommy's idea.
What Rick didn't expect was that when he tried hard to accept Tommy's ideas and tried to implement them perfectly, Tommy appeared in front of him with a stern face.
"What have you done recently, Rick?" Tommy walked into the daytime studio rented by BT TV with a gloomy face, looked at Rick Luther who was inspecting the workers inside, and asked.
Rick spread his hands blankly and looked at Tommy in confusion: "What did I do? I just prepared and arranged the program, interviewed program staff and other work. What else can I do?"
"The three black women you interviewed not long ago all came to us, saying that you touched them and verbally harassed them. They want compensation, otherwise they will take us to court." Tommy narrowed his eyes slightly and stared at Rick. As long as the red curly-haired man in front of him did not give him a satisfactory answer, he was going to throw him to the court and let him fend for himself. The new BT TV station could not withstand this scandal of harassing black women.
When the other people in the studio heard Tommy's words, they also stopped working and subconsciously looked at Rick Luther, the core figure of the incident.
Rick's expression was confused at first, then he realized, and finally he was relieved. He smiled disdainfully: "How is it possible, Tommy? You know I have worked in Living Color for many years, I have seen all kinds of women. Even if I am horny, I can't make such a mistake at work."
"I think so too. Otherwise, what you saw would not be me, but the notice of dismissal prepared by the TV station for you." Tommy tapped his forehead lightly with his fingers: "Now, try to recall what you did to those women?"
"I asked them to interview for the Weather Girl role, and that was it. I didn't even know them before, I just met them once during the interview," Rick began.
The weather girl is the host of the weather program. Generally speaking, each TV station will try its best to select a host who is beautiful enough to host its own weather program. For most TV stations, although they cannot compete with large TV networks in wonderful self-made programs, they can at least win some audience favor with the appearance of the weather program.
"During a one-on-one interview, I would chat with her first, then ask her to stand up, turn around, and give me a friendly smile. If she didn't do it well, I would gently point at her facial muscles with my fingers to remind her how big the arc of her smile should be." Rick was afraid that he didn't explain it clearly, so he even gently tapped his face with his fingers and said to Tommy:
"Just tap it lightly like that."
"Give me the information they submitted." Tommy said expressionlessly.
Rick turned around and rummaged through a nearby cabinet, then handed Tommy a stack of folders: "The top three."
"Wow, they're all beautiful black girls. Look at their breasts and buttocks, so tempting. Is this the kind of photo I should submit to the employer during an interview? These are fucking promotional photos for an entertainment company to attract clients." Tommy picked up the photos of three beautiful black girls and took a look.
"I didn't say anything like that during the interview. With all due respect, boss, what you're saying now is more like verbal harassment." Rick said upon hearing Tommy's comment after seeing the photo.
Tommy glanced at Rick. "Have you ever been in this kind of trouble before?"
"A vivid little movie actress? Do you think she'll give me trouble if I touch her face?" Rick shrugged.
"So these black women thought they had found a new TV station and a white interviewer, and they wanted to try to extort money." Tommy didn't even finish reading the text information of the three women, and said to Rick: "Of course I trust you, keep working, I will help you solve these troubles, don't let these small problems affect your work enthusiasm."
"How much compensation do they want before they are willing to sign the settlement document and promise to keep it confidential forever?" Rick asked Tommy.
"Twenty thousand, thirty thousand, and one wants fifty thousand." Tommy took out a cigarette and lit it, saying absentmindedly, "One hundred thousand dollars in total. Just touching her face will cost you one hundred thousand dollars. This is a great deal. If we don't agree, they will definitely find a way to hire a lawyer to make a scene. This will be enough to cause a devastating blow to the reputation of our newly opened TV station. Besides, the amount is not that big, right? Everyone thinks that we will pay obediently."
"I'm sorry, Tommy. I promise to be more careful with my words and actions during interviews next time." After hearing Tommy's words, Rick thought that Tommy was going to pay him to shut up. He lowered his head with some guilt and said, "It's my fault."
Tommy patted Rick on the shoulder: "Focus on your work and leave the trouble to me."
After that, he looked at the others and said, "Focus on your work, everyone. It's okay."
Tommy walked out of the studio with the information of the three women in his hand. George, the bodyguard who was waiting for him at the tea table in the distance, immediately stood up and walked over. Tommy raised his head slightly and looked at the big guy: "Ask Mr. Page to wait for me at my house. I need him to work overtime."
"Okay, Mr. Hawke." George heard Tommy's words and immediately picked up the phone and dialed Paige's number.
…
Beverly Hills.
Tommy turned on the TV, watching the CBS news talk show, and said to Sophia next to him:
"Before Delia finds a suitable black lawyer, you can have the law firm run by the alumni of the Stanford White Shoes Society arrange for a lawyer to contact these three black girls and tell them that our BT TV station takes this kind of employee harassment of women very seriously, that the harasser has been suspended, and that the TV station has begun an internal investigation. In short, see if your sincerity can move these three women and make them give up the idea of causing trouble. If your sincerity alone is not attractive, let the lawyer negotiate with them on the price. In short, buy time and make them believe that we value their feelings and are working hard to come up with a compensation plan so that they don't make a big deal out of this matter."
"Delaying time?" After listening to Tommy's words, Sophia asked, "Don't you really want to reconcile with the other party?"
"This is fucking extortion. A white person touching a black person's face is considered harassment? Black people have become really fucking precious in recent years. A hundred years ago, if their hands and feet were chopped off, they would still thank the white masters for their kindness and for sparing their lives." Tommy cursed unhappily:
"The information of these three women shows that they all had experience working in other small TV stations. They are like experienced prostitutes. They think our TV station is a novice who is concerned about its reputation, so they try to extort money. The price is not high, but not low. It's like a small hole in my tooth caused by cavities. The cavity doesn't make me feel excruciatingly painful, but when I want to completely ignore its existence, it will remind me of its existence with a sour and painful feeling in my balls."
Mr. Page, wearing a smoky gray jacket, walked into the living room led by the servant: "Mr. Hawke, George said you want to see me."
"That's right, Mr. Page. Dorothy, prepare a drink for Mr. Page." Tommy said to Page first, then looked at Sophia: "Go ahead, do as I say, find a lawyer and delay the time with the other party."
Sophia stood up and left. Tommy asked Paige to sit down and looked at the old guy who seemed harmless with a smile.
This seemingly harmless old man shot and killed seven black people in 1978. Even though four of the black people dropped their weapons and raised their hands, he still shot them in the head in public in the black community.
Of course, he did not massacre black people at random. He killed members of the Black United Vanguard and suspected members.
The United Black Vanguard, the Black Liberation Army, and the Republic of New Africa are radical paramilitary organizations of African Americans formed by the remnants of the Black Panther Party. In order to so-called awaken black people, they have carried out many illegal activities, including armed robbery of escort vehicles to rescue black prisoners, shooting at police stations, slaughtering drug dealers to rob stolen money, and setting off explosions.
In 1979, the Long Beach Police Department received a bomb package. Sheriff Lott Page was lucky and was not blown up, but his partner was eventually killed.
After the Black United Vanguard triumphantly announced that it had taken responsibility for the action, Page and his men drove to the black community in North Long Beach. He knew there were some Black United Vanguard members there, so he told the police station that he was going to investigate. In fact, he didn't want to investigate at all and only wanted to kill the blacks who had blown up his partner.
Then there were two black minors under the age of 18 and a black woman in the community. They thought the white people were scared out of their wits and mocked the arriving police officers, saying that the white police officers deserved to be killed in the explosion. Page did not hesitate at all and shot the three black people to death on the grounds of threatening the police, obstructing the investigation, suspected of being in possession of weapons and suspected of being members of the United Black Vanguard.
The four real members of the Black United Vanguard in the community dropped their weapons and raised their hands in surrender when they were surrounded by the police. They thought they would just go to jail, but Page shot each of them in the head.
The reason given by the lawyer in court was that the victims raised their hands too low, Page was old and dim-sighted and could not see clearly, and he was in a dangerous black community, he was nervous and his finger muscles spasmed, causing the gun to go off accidentally, resulting in this tragedy.
In the end, the court was in a mess over the case, but later, after the Jim Crow Vanguard shot and killed two more police officers in the New York Police Department, the tide turned and all the dead were defined as members of the Jim Crow Vanguard. Eventually, Page was defined by the court as suffering from serious mental illness due to years of high-intensity work, and was sentenced to five years of probation, 600 hours of community activity, and retirement from the police force.
After this battle , Page became famous in the black community. Before the court ruling was given, Page drove a police car around the black community as if nothing had happened, hoping to take the opportunity to kill all the black people who were causing trouble in the area. But unfortunately, all black people already knew that although this old white guy had poor eyesight and was mentally stressed and unable to adapt to the high-intensity work of a police officer, he could rely on his blurred vision to accurately hit a black person's forehead. If you don't want to be accidentally killed by his finger muscle spasms, it's best to raise your hands high and kneel on the ground when you see him approaching you.
After all, this butcher even killed black minors. He has no humanity at all.
The first thing Tommy did after hiring Paige was to ask him to donate to the police force and get the title of Honorary Sheriff of Long Beach. Although honorary police are not real police officers, they enjoy some obligations and powers. For example, when encountering conflicts, honorary police have the power to stand up and stop them.
"These three black men extorted one hundred thousand dollars from us." Tommy handed the information of the three women to Paige.
Paige took it doubtfully, then looked at Tommy: "Do you want me to kill them?"
"No, no, no, there's no way we could do that, Mr. Page." Tommy laughed when he heard what Page said:
"We set up a TV station to give voice to black people, right? How could we kill black people? Your idea is too scary."
"So? What do you need me to do?" Paige also laughed, obviously a little skeptical about Tommy's original intention of setting up a TV station.
Tommy took out a cigarette and handed it to the other party. "Nothing. I asked the lawyer to buy time. I hope that during this period of contact and negotiation, you can see if there is any way to put the three women on the identity of the sponsors or supporters of illegal terrorist organizations such as the Black United Vanguard and the Black Liberation Army. Then we can sue them for blackmail. Add the two together and let them spend a long vacation in prison. They actually blackmailed Rick, saying that he harassed them. I must let them understand that if they want to make money in the second half of their lives, they can only rely on being harassed by men, and they have to put on a smile. They are in collusion with black terrorist organizations. No TV station will give them a job."
"We have detailed information on these three women. Perhaps we can use this information to design a crude anonymous donation? As for the donation target, I prefer the black terrorist organization, the Republic of New Africa. It is more radical than the other two organizations, and it is easier to be recognized. As long as black people donate money to support them, they will be regarded as their own citizens. However, once remarks accusing them are made, they will find a way to teach these compatriots who betrayed their skin a severe lesson." Paige took the cigarette , thought for a moment, and gave an idea.
Tommy nodded with satisfaction. "That's a good idea. Just like the three black people trying to destroy our TV station, when they try to prove their innocence and publicly admit in court that the New Africa Republic is a black terrorist organization, they will greet the three black female compatriots on our behalf."
"I understand. I'll get this done as soon as possible." Paige picked up the information of the three women and walked out.
Dorothy came over with a glass of juice and handed it to Paige. She said to Tommy, "Mr. Hawke, your black bodyguard is outside. He wants to talk to you about what he has gained today and convey many people's gratitude to you."
"No need to let him in, let him go... Forget it, he is different from others, let him wait for me in the backyard. He can't enter my living room, but he can go to the backyard." Tommy originally wanted to ask Martin to go back to the dormitory and wait for him , but after hesitating, he changed the venue to outdoors.
In the backyard, seeing the boss coming over with a smile, Martin, who looked a little tired, said excitedly: "Boss, this is definitely the most meaningful day in my life. Everyone is grateful to you, it's true."
"They should be grateful to you. After all, it was you who gave those low-income black people a haircut for free, not me," Tommy said.
"But if you don't pay me, I won't go. I'm not as great as you." Martin said sincerely: "You are a friend of black people. You should see the smiles on those black people's faces."
Tommy looked at Paige getting into the car and leaving in the distance, and said with emotion: "If I want to be worthy of this great title, I still have a lot of work to do."
