Volume 4: The Sea and the Ship Heading North Chapter 243 Boys and Girls Experience
The Jazz seemed to have been completely blown to pieces. The mermaids could only pick up some broken bones on the seabed. They didn't know whether these belonged to the Jazz or to Labill, the house-elf who followed the Jazz.
In order to express their gratitude and remembrance to the knight, several mermaid tribes gathered together and carved a statue of the knight in his likeness on the sea.
The mermaids and the Jazz are old neighbors, and they all know Jazz's preferences. The Jazz, carved out of stone, holds a star map in one hand and a telescope in the other, looking up at the sky solemnly.
They found a way to stabilize the statue above the sea so that it would not sink to the bottom of the water and no longer be able to see the starry sky, nor would it drift away from the sea with the waves and be discovered by Muggles.
Time passed day by day, and I don't know when it started, but the mermaids who surfaced at night to enjoy the sea breeze said that they often saw a hazy person sitting near the statue of the knight.
That person looked exactly like the Jazz when he was alive, but when the merman tried to call him, he didn't respond at all. He just quietly and silently looked at the bright starry sky .
It was like that was all there was in his world.
…
After leaving the sea area where the tower was located, the lives of the students on the ship gradually returned to normal.
In the first few days, the students who stayed on the ship listened with great interest to Ron and Li's stories about their experiences in the tower.
"If it weren't for Jon, we might have really died there. Those black cats forced us into the pasture..."
As Ron was describing the story vividly, a fourth-grade girl reminded him.
"According to the characteristics you described, the black cat-like magical animal is called Madago, a magical creature that basically only lives in France and is very dangerous."
"Well, whether it's called Madago or Black Panther or something else, their numbers seem to be able to increase infinitely," Ron continued.
"Neville, Lee and I were forced into a pasture. It was a grassland used for grazing sheep. Although the place was large enough, it was too empty. We were chased by the black panthers and ran around the sheep for several circles. It was Neville who came up with an idea. He said that if we kept running, we would be exhausted to death sooner or later even if we were not bitten to death. We could only think of a way to deal with the sheep."
"But Neville and I haven't learned the Transfiguration spell related to living body transformation. Fortunately, Lee knows it! And he himself said that during the final exam of the third grade, Professor McGonagall praised his excellent skills in living body transformation."
George and Fred on the side pointed it out mercilessly.
"He's bragging! Professor McGonagall never praised his Transfiguration skills."
Ron also said angrily.
"Yes, what happened later also let us know that he was exaggerating! But Neville and I didn't know this at the time. After hearing his assurance, we handed the technical work to him. We rushed into the flock of sheep, and then he took this opportunity to turn us into sheep himself, pretending to flee like the frightened sheep, and the black panthers were really fooled."
"They tried to find us by scent, but the strong smell of sheep around us helped us cover up the smell. Our plan was going well until we got here, but there was a problem with Li's Transfiguration."
"The sheep he turned us into were without tails and hooves! The black panthers soon discovered this and found us. We had no choice but to keep running. Fortunately, we found an opportunity to escape from that room and heard Jon calling us. Otherwise, we would have turned into feces and been pulled out by now!"
Li did not defend his boasting, instead he said it proudly.
"In that situation, I would definitely put your peace of mind first. There was no better way. Besides, wasn't the result great? My Vivisection bought us enough time for Jon to rescue us!"
He said it so naturally, not feeling ashamed at all for having to be rescued by a student who was a grade younger than him.
No one in the entire Hogwarts would regard Jon as an ordinary third-year student. In the minds of everyone on the ship, in the absence of Dumbledore, he is the leader who leads everyone forward and the person that everyone can absolutely trust and rely on.
After the boys finished telling their experiences, everyone became curious about what happened to the two girls.
Through Ron's narration, they all knew that in the final and most urgent stage, the five of them were separated. Where did Hermione and Luna go at that time?
"Do any of you know what the move is where they fly up from under the sea and end up blowing up the entire tower?"
Hermione asked the others before telling them about their experiences.
The people around shook their heads.
Even though most of them were from Muggle families, few of them still remembered things like rockets and spacecraft, not to mention that Britain itself had not invested any energy or publicity in this area.
"It's a rocket that can send people into the sky. It's similar to the flying broom in the magic world, but it can allow people to fly higher and faster, and even leave the planet we live on."
Hermione explained to them.
"That knight hid something like this under his tower. Luna and I fled to the first floor but couldn't open the door. So when we had no other way to go, we broke into the interior of the rocket."
The students looked at each other.
"The inside of that explosive you entered!"
Luna nodded affirmatively.
"Yes, there were a lot of bright lights and instruments there. After we entered, we were looking for an exit to get back to the surface of the sea. But before we found it, the instruments suddenly flashed red, and there were screams like those of evil spirits everywhere!"
Luna's voice is already very erratic, and when she tells this kind of story it gives people a sense of horror.
Hermione helplessly corrected her for the umpteenth time.
"That wasn't the cry of a ghost, Luna. That was the sound of an alarm, the sound that Muggles sound in an emergency. It was when we heard that sound that we realized something was wrong. We had no other choice in that situation. We could only take the risk and use the Splitting Curse to break a piece of glass in the rocket, and then enter the sea from inside."
"We were very deep under the sea, and Luna almost died because she had no oxygen. Fortunately, I had some swimming experience, so I was able to return to the surface with her and was rescued by Jon."
