Volume 4: The Sea and the Ship Heading North Chapter 219 Nothing Under the Sea
But as Dumbledore analyzed, the Forgetfulness Spell, a method of forcibly changing people's minds, is not a long-term solution.
The first batch of reformed puffball wizards released from the correctional facility were indeed just a group of sacrifices, and this group of sacrifices would surely attract the prey that the person who made this move needed.
Contrary to what the outside world imagines, there is actually no endless wailing inside the correctional facility, nor any brutal torture.
Compared to a prison, this place is more like an alternative school, and Voldemort is the principal of the school.
He sat in a bright and clean office, looking out the window at the waves hitting the rocks on the beach.
"Is this the only information reported by the Dementors staying in Azkaban?"
The man's voice was so soft that it was impossible to tell what emotion he was feeling at the moment.
Below him, Rodolphus Lestrange, the nominal head of the correctional institution, lowered his head and did not dare to look directly at the gentleman who seemed to be very easy to get along with.
"This is the confession their leader repeated to us in person. Neither Legilimency nor Veritaserum has any effect on them. Master, we have no way to confirm the authenticity of this information, but I think... they would not dare to lie to you."
Voldemort looked nonchalant as he picked up the confession recorded from the Dementor on his desk again, and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly.
"Two wizards and a ghost broke into Azkaban Island and captured the Aurors stationed on the island. They then used an extremely powerful Patronus Charm to disperse the Dementors in the castle, and finally disappeared without a trace with the captives..."
Rodolphus did not hear the hint of sarcasm in the man's tone. If he dared to look up, he would have found that the sarcastic sneer on his master's face was obvious.
"After getting the Dementor's confession, I sent a small team to check the situation in the prison, Master. Judging from the signs left there, the Dementor should not have lied. Our people did find traces of two extremely powerful Patronus Charms being summoned in the prison."
"The two people who broke into the prison drank the Polyjuice Potion. They disguised themselves as Scabior and McNeill, but the appearance of the ghost could not be changed. Through the description of the Dementors, we found the information of the ghost. He is..."
Voldemort threw the confession back on the desk.
"He is a resident ghost who escaped from Hogwarts Castle."
Rodolphus looked at his master in astonishment. He had just found out about Nick's information and there was no mention of him in the confession.
Voldemort analyzed with interest.
"Let me think about it. That stupid woman Gray will definitely not help Dumbledore do such a thing. Baron will take most of the ghosts away to figure out a solution on his own. The fat monk is a good man but his character is not trustworthy. If I were Dumbledore, the only choice would be Nick who was almost beheaded."
Rodolphus swallowed nervously and nodded.
"Master, your wisdom is unmatched in the world. It is Nicholas de Mimsy Porpington. The ghost who appeared in the prison and assisted the other two people in kidnapping the Auror was him."
"Kidnap the Aurors?"
Voldemort raised his voice.
"If that's all Dumbledore let them through, it means nothing. Look up and look at me, Rodolphus."
Rodolphus raised his head tremblingly and met his master's eyes.
In that man's dark pupils, there was only indifference as dead as water.
"At this time, I have to stay here, so you should send someone to Azkaban right now. There is a secret cellar on the first floor of the prison. Find it and find a trap door under the barrel in the cellar . Open the door and go into the room behind it to find a diary for me. If they can still find it, bring it back to me immediately."
"If there's nothing inside, send someone north along Azkaban Island, across the North Sea, and find a tower called Starr in the middle of the Norwegian Sea to see if there's anyone else there except an old loser who only knows how to study astronomy."
His tone was not fierce, and could even be described as calm, but Rodolphus heard a chill in it that was enough to make most of the wizarding world tremble.
"If...if there's someone else in that tower, what should our people do?"
Voldemort stared at him.
"Except for one person who Apparates back immediately to report to me, everyone else stays behind to keep an eye on those people. I will go there myself!"
Rodolphus bowed his head heavily again.
"yes!"
…
Hermione, who was looking for clues to the floor below in the first-floor hallway, was suddenly startled by a voice coming from beside her.
"Miss Granger."
Rabill appeared beside Hermione silently at some point, and he looked at Hermione calmly with his scary big eyes.
"Lunch is ready, we should go to the living room to eat."
Hermione was so frightened that her whole body trembled, and then she recovered.
Luna, who was standing by, also came over. She looked at Rabill and tilted her head in thought.
"Mr. Rabile?"
Rabil turned to look at the girl with light blonde hair.
"Just call me Rabill. No elf has the right to be called sir."
Hermione and Luna looked at each other and she saw what she was thinking.
"We are curious about one thing." Luna asked softly, "Is the floor we are on now the bottom of the entire tower? Are there any floors hidden in the sea?"
There is nothing to hide, and from what we can see so far, Sir Stock's attitude towards them can be described as friendly.
Even if this tower is really partly beneath the sea, it is not something shameful.
In response to her question, there was no change in expression on Rabill's ugly face. He just shook his head and said.
"In order to prevent the tower from being corroded by seawater, a solid stone foundation was erected beneath the sea surface. There are no rooms and no way to reach it."
His answer was reasonable, and he responded to this common question calmly. Neither Hermione nor Luna could see anything wrong with it.
Originally, they were just having a sudden thought and were a little curious. Now that they had already gotten the answer from Rabill, they didn't dwell on this issue any further.
