Volume 4: The Sea and the Ship Heading North Chapter 215 Blood Curse Orc

Jon took Neville and the other three back to the tower, carrying a large pile of books on ancient magic runes.
He did not immediately tell Sir Stoke the meaning of the magic runes on the stone slab. After all, he learned the meaning of the content from Nick, and Nick's existence could not be revealed to others. He could only pretend to look through the magic runes books he brought to the tower.
Sir Stock did not let him work directly on the top of the tower. The view there was certainly better, but it was almost Christmas and the air was too cold. A warm room with a fireplace would be more comfortable.
Taking Jon to his private study, Sir Stoke took out a rubbing of the magic runes from the stone slab on the top of the tower to facilitate his comparison.
Jon pretended to casually flip through the magic books, but his eyes were fixed on the books placed in the study.
Just by looking at the titles, you can find that most of these books are large volumes related to astronomy. Not only are there books written by wizards, but there are also many books that are obviously published by Muggle publishers.
This knight did have an extraordinary interest in astronomy. He had expressed this when he first met Jon, and it seemed that he was not lying.
Just as Jon was about to look away and pretend that he had made a sudden discovery by accident, he saw some books at the very corner of the bookshelf that were completely different from other astronomy-related books.
These books were grouped together, and judging from the covers they looked older, and were obviously not the works of modern wizards.
What attracted Jon was the title of one of the books.
Research and Exploration on the Blood Curse of the Orcs
Jon's unusual behavior at this time was finally noticed by Sir Stoke. He followed his gaze and saw the ancient books on the bookshelf.
"My grandfather's grandfather was once the vice president of the French Magic Injury Hospital. His main research direction in his life was related to blood-cursed orcs. This is an extremely niche and terrible curse. There has been no way to remove or cure it from ancient times to the present. My ancestor only left these materials. If you are interested , you can read them at any time during your stay in the tower."
Sir Stoker said magnanimously.
John withdrew his gaze from the books. He simply had some impression of the curse like the Blood-Cursed Orcs. In the original book, the giant snake Nagini, which was made into a Horcrux by Voldemort later, was the final form of the Blood-Cursed Orcs.
As for curses like the Blood Curse Orcs, Jon had no interest in them.
"Thank you for your generosity, sir. Let's get back to the topic we started with. I have found some clues about the contents of the magic words left on the stone tablet."
Jon looked at Sir Stoker, and indeed an expression of surprise appeared on his face.
"Are there any results so soon? I thought we would have to wait for a while."
"This is actually a matter of luck. Apparently our luck is pretty good. I found the same content as the magic words on the stone tablet in the book I flipped through at the beginning."
Jon repeated the information he had received from Nick to Sir Stoker.
"This slate should be a lock."
"Lock?"
The smile on Jazz's face gradually faded and his brows furrowed tightly.
"You mean, the purpose of the stone slab itself is actually to protect and hide something?"
Jon nodded.
"Yes, the magic words engraved on the stone slab are actually a kind of sealing magic. It protects the stone slab from being easily opened, thus preventing anyone from discovering what is hidden underneath it."
As Jon spoke, Ser Stoker's face grew darker.
He obviously couldn't accept such a thing.
The tower that he had built most of himself and had lived in for decades was actually hidden right under his nose by someone without anyone noticing, and he had no idea at all.
Jon noticed the change in the lord's expression and asked seriously.
"Are you sure that it wasn't you or someone else in the tower who placed this slab?"
Sir Stock said with great decisiveness.
"I don't recognize any magic runes at all. In this tower, besides me, the only one who has been taking care of my daily life is Rabil. It is even more impossible for it to have any chance."
Jon stroked his beard and said thoughtfully.
"If you're sure it wasn't you, then the only possibility is that someone else slipped in without your knowledge."
"Professor Johnson." Sir Stock suddenly looked at Jon seriously, "Can you... decipher the magic runes on this stone tablet?"
There was a plea in his words, as if he simply couldn't accept that there was something hidden in his own home that he had no idea about.
Jon told the truth.
"I've told you before, sir, I'm not a magic rune master. If I ask the ancient magic rune professor who works with me at school to come here, maybe he can find a way to decipher it, but my knowledge of magic runs is only out of interest. I really can't decipher this stone tablet from the magic rune level."
When Sir Stoke heard Jon's words, he initially showed a frustrated expression on his face, but in the last sentence, he obviously heard some different meaning.
"There's no way to tell from the level of magic runes... What you mean is..."
Jon said very calmly.
"Magic runes are not my strong point, but I do have some other tricks that can solve these magical runes. However, this method will destroy the magic runes on the stone slab and eliminate the magic attached to it... "
"I don't mind, Professor Johnson! It would be great if you could even erase the magic on this stone slab." Sir Stock said, "I just want to know who hid such a thing in my house and what his purpose is."
Jon certainly wasn't surprised by his decision.
Then the two of them left the study and returned to the top of the tower where the cold wind was blowing.
On the way, Jon quietly put the ring that was originally hanging around his neck back on his finger, and returned to the stone slab. He gently touched the first magic rune on the first line with the finger wearing the ring.
The magic rune flashed for a moment, and then the magic power originally attached to it was transferred to the second gem inlaid on the ring.
There is no limit to John's ability to absorb magic power attached to magic items. Unlike using the universal spell-breaking method to absorb magic power from the enemy's spell, he can only find people with magic power equal to or weaker than his own. The magic power attached to magic items lacks the control of will, so it is much easier for the ring to absorb it.
