Jon took Neville and the other three back to the tower, carrying a large pile of books on ancient magic runes.
He did not immediately tell Sir Stoke the meaning of the magic runes on the stone slab. After all, he learned the meaning of the content from Nick, and Nick's existence could not be revealed to others. He could only pretend to look through the magic runes books he brought to the tower.
Sir Stock did not let him work directly on the top of the tower. The view there was certainly better, but it was almost Christmas and the air was too cold. A warm room with a fireplace would be more comfortable.
Taking Jon to his private study, Sir Stoke took out a rubbing of the magic runes from the stone slab on the top of the tower to facilitate his comparison.
Jon pretended to casually flip through the magic books, but his eyes were fixed on the books placed in the study.
Just by looking at the titles, you can find that most of these books are large volumes related to astronomy. Not only are there books written by wizards, but there are also many books that are obviously published by Muggle publishers.
This knight did have an extraordinary interest in astronomy. He had expressed this when he first met Jon, and it seemed that he was not lying.
Just as Jon was about to look away and pretend that he had made a sudden discovery by accident, he saw some books at the very corner of the bookshelf that were completely different from other astronomy-related books.
These books were grouped together, and judging from the covers they looked older, and were obviously not the works of modern wizards.
What attracted Jon was the title of one of the books.

As for curses like the Blood Curse Orcs, Jon had no interest in them.

As Jon spoke, Ser Stoker's face grew darker.
He obviously couldn't accept such a thing.

"Are you sure that it wasn't you or someone else in the tower who placed this slab?"

Jon stroked his beard and said thoughtfully.
"If you're sure it wasn't you, then the only possibility is that someone else slipped in without your knowledge."
"Professor Johnson." Sir Stock suddenly looked at Jon seriously, "Can you... decipher the magic runes on this stone tablet?"

Jon told the truth.

The magic rune flashed for a moment, and then the magic power originally attached to it was transferred to the second gem inlaid on the ring.
