Volume 4: Beginning of Spring Chapter 91: Chat

The rain stopped.
Jiang You opened his eyes. It was pitch black outside the window. He felt for his glasses from beside the pillow, put them on, and half sat up.
He smelled the stench of his body, the smell of sweat, the smell of mud, the smell of rotting blood, and many other smells mixed together.
It smelled so bad that he rubbed his nose and stood up.
After returning from the fragmented world, he used the excuse that Jiang Mo couldn't hold on any longer and needed to sleep, and slipped down the mountain early and returned to the insect house. He originally wanted to take a shower, go to the next door to have breakfast, and then come back to catch up on sleep. But as soon as he opened the door to the yard, he was overwhelmed by sleepiness. He struggled to climb up the stairs, threw himself on the bed, and sank into the darkness without even having the strength to take off his clothes.
When I woke up, it was darker.
I reached for my phone and saw that it was out of battery.
After plugging in the charging cable, I took a shower, stuffed my clothes, sheets, quilt covers and pillowcases into the washing machine, threw three laundry beads in, poured in half a bottle of disinfectant, and selected the strong stain removal mode.
After hearing the sound of the washing machine running, he walked out of the bathroom, took a look at the door of Jiang Mo's room, went downstairs, took a White Rabbit milk candy from the candy bowl on the counter, tore off the wrapper, and ate it.
The rich milky aroma fills your mouth.
He wanted to use his phone to order takeout, but found his phone upstairs. His ankle was sprained and it was even more swollen after sleeping for a night, so he said: Xiaoya.
Classmate Xiaoya: Hmm?
Jiang You: Please order some takeout for me.
Xiaoya: What do you like to eat? The takeaway information has been pushed to your phone. Open the Xiaoya app and place the order...
Jiang You: Shut up.
He walked into the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, rummaged around and found a piece of crystal braised pork. He took it out, cut it into thin slices and placed it on a porcelain plate. He then filled a small bowl with vinegar and shredded young ginger and brought it to the long table.
Just took it out of the fridge, a little cold.
It's enough to fill my stomach.
As he was eating, a wisp of black mist floated out of the bag thrown on the ground, gradually gathered into a human shape, and sat down on the chair opposite Jiang You.
"Would you like something to eat?" Jiang You pushed the porcelain plate towards Sun Xiu.
"Okay." Sun Xiu said.
He saw a spider silk wrapped around his wrist. Then, he gradually became a solid body. He touched the long table, which was hard and felt no different from when he was alive.
Jiang You took a set of bowls and chopsticks and made two cups of black tea. Then he said to Sun Xiu, "Sit for a while. I 'll go get something."
As he said that, Jiang You walked upstairs.
Sun Xiu looked at his back. He walked up the stairs with a limp. Sun Xiu reached out to take the cup. The cup was very hot. He held the cup and took a sip of tea. The water was very hot.
"This is the only tea I have at home, so just drink it, " Jiang You walked down with his phone in hand, "I'll order takeout, what do you want to eat?"
After putting his cell phone on the table, Jiang You opened the shop door. He looked outside. The rain had stopped. On the moonless night, the light from the street lamps shone into the yard and fell on the flowers and leaves.
"The rain has finally stopped," Jiang You walked back, sat down, and started looking through the takeout. He glanced at the time, it was one in the morning, "The takeout at this time is all barbecue and fried chicken. I'm on a diet, so I have to eat light..."
"I never thought the Jinghu Club would end this way."
"This is common," Jiang You disagreed. "Visible crises are all dragged on to patch up the past. Invisible ones are threats. When you first start out, it seems like there are enemies and traps everywhere, and you're running around every day. Gradually, you learn some methods, come up with some plans, and slowly settle down. You feel like you have control over the situation, so you lose your vigilance and are ultimately defeated and destroyed by inexplicable things."
"Have you experienced this?" Sun Xiu asked tentatively.
"No, I just like to read novels. There are many online novels with this kind of plot." Jiang You ate the last piece of braised pork, drank a sip of tea, and looked through the takeaway again. He still couldn't find what he wanted to eat. He looked up at Sun Xiu and said, "Do you want me to burn a few good books for you?"
The wind blew in.
Sun Xiu looked out the door and said, "Brother Hu and I could have been good people."
Jiang You felt that he really couldn't order takeout, so he said, "Let's go to the night market and make fried rice and two dishes, right?"
Sun Xiu hesitated for a moment, then he felt relieved and said, "Okay, the last time I went to the night market to eat was more than ten years ago."
Jiang You found a coat and put it on.
They walked into the night market.
Sun Xiu walked into the makeshift shed. Plastic chairs were scattered on the wet ground, and each table was covered with a layer of grease.
"It's been a long time since you came." The proprietress, who was wearing an apron and had wrinkles at the corners of her eyes when she smiled, greeted Jiang You.
"I'm trying to lose weight recently."
The proprietress looked him up and down and said, "You are a little fatter than the last time I saw you."
"Right? This is pork intestines, this is leek sprouts and eggs, and a soup, something lighter, crucian carp soup, and two bowls of rice, all right," Jiang You ordered the dishes and walked to Sun Xiu, who pulled up a chair and sat down, "This restaurant's stir-fry is really good, I used to eat here often when I first came to this street."
Sun Xiu also pulled a chair and sat down, "Really?"
"It's cheap. I only have these two years, so I can afford it a little."
"As long as you are willing, wealth and power will be at your fingertips."
"On those days, the food was good, but I had to use my brain while eating. The person sitting next to me and the person sitting opposite me just made eye contact. Is there some conspiracy? Are they planning to send me to be cannon fodder? How can I taste the food like that?"
"You don't have to think about it."
"Then I'll die!"
The proprietress brought the pork intestines and rice to the table.
Jiang You took a few bites and said, "I thought, of course I can't live too badly. I just need to be financially independent. Then I can eat, drink tea, play chess, and sleep. I can still have more time to sleep. Then I can train my son."
Sun Xiu looked at Jiang You for a long time. Then he took out a pair of disposable chopsticks from the chopstick bucket, tore off the packaging, picked up a piece of onion, put it in his mouth and chewed it.
Then, the proprietress brought up the leek sprouts, eggs and crucian carp soup.
She said, "Have you gathered all yours?"
"All ready." Jiang You said.
Jiang You and Sun Xiu concentrated on eating and did not talk any more.
Sun Xiu ate a bowl of rice with the dish and drank a bowl of soup. Then he put down his chopsticks and said, "Thank you for your hospitality."
"You're welcome."
The spider silk broke.
The body slowly faded away.
Jiang Mo stood on the bluestone road in the yard.
He stretched out his hand.
A little white light floated in from the sky outside the yard, fell into his palm, and merged into his body.
The wounds on his hands and face were healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Jiang You paid the money.
He walked back.
When he was about to reach the bug house, he saw a flash of pink light. Jiang Mo was riding his pink unicorn, patrolling his territory.
Not far away.
Sun Mo's body turned into black ash and fell down.
Jiang You felt his phone vibrate. He took out his phone and saw that it was Lin Yu calling.
Jiang You picked up the phone.
"It's so late, sorry to bother you," Lin Yu apologized first, then he quickly said: "I, I just had a dream, and when I woke up, a layer of black scales appeared on my arms, I..."
