Volume 4: Beginning of Spring Chapter 81: Home
After Jiang You finished speaking, the snowflakes in the sky stopped.
Huang Juan's body no longer continued to break down and age.
She asked, “Where to?”
"Go to your brother."
"My brother, and all of us, when we die, our souls belong to Him, too."
"That's not necessarily true."
Some light white spots shone from Huang Juan's body, floated onto the white postcard and melted into it.
At the same time, some dim spots of light floated out of the bag.
Jiang You reached into his bag and pulled out a small wooden sign. The dim, grey dots of light were coming from the sign.
Huang Juan looked at the wooden sign.
When Jiang You interrogated her for the first time, he gave her the wooden sign. She felt her brother's breath on the sign, very faint, but real.
However, when I was sent back to my room, the wooden sign was taken away...
"I tried my best to keep some, but it's not much."
Huang Juan's voice trembled, as if with some expectation, she asked: "Are you, God?"
"No, I'm a human." Jiang You denied it. He said, "I'm using some rules to send you on your way, and the middleman makes a profit from the difference."
Huang Juan's eyes suddenly dimmed.
"Maybe in the next life, we can still be brother and sister." Jiang You comforted her.
“I don’t want another life.”
"What do you want?"
“I want to go outside the rules.”
"Can you see it?" Jiang You was a little surprised.
“I can see some things. He comes through me, and I can feel many things through Him.”
“Then I’ll lose money.”
"I know Mr. Hu's secret." Huang Juan said.
Jiang You glanced at Tang Butian and said, "Tell me about it."
"He was born after Master Hu's mother died. Originally, he was a pair of twins. Master Hu lived, but the other one died." Huang Juan paused. "Master Hu said that his brother never lived a single day, never enjoyed a single day, and just because he became stronger, he was not tolerated by heaven. It is extremely difficult for the brothers to meet and say a few words to each other."
Jiang You looked at Huang Juan and said, "It will be dawn soon. Don't involve passers-by."
Huang Juan turned her head with some disappointment.
The fog slowly dissipated, and the connection between the two worlds temporarily stabilized. She saw a bungalow at the bottom of the hill, with white walls and green tiles...
She felt a pain in her heart and covered her mouth with her hands, dark red blood flowing out from between her fingers.
“He found out.”
"Give us a ride."
Huang Juan was silent for a moment, and then the snowflakes moved, swirling around them, becoming denser and denser, and finally wrapping them up and rolling towards the other world.
At the moment when it was about to disappear from her sight, a white postcard with a soft light flew out of the snowball.
It turned into thousands of white lines extending outwards.
At the same time, she felt that her connection with the world and with Him was severed.
A familiar and blurry figure walked towards her.
"elder brother……"
She closed her eyes.
The body was blown away by the wind, and melted into the soil along with the rain.
The mountain breeze blew the leaves.
She is dead.
They are free.
…
Sun Xiu looked at the back mountain shrouded in shadow. He walked down the slope and onto the wooden bridge.
The bridge was shaking.
When you step on the bridge, you can seem to hear the sound of wood breaking.
He walked slowly but steadily.
…
The snowball rolled to the bottom of the hill and stopped. A wooden sword stretched out from it with a dark light floating on the blade. Then, the snowball exploded. Tang Butian stood up holding the wooden sword. She turned around and saw Jiang You lying on the ground. He turned over with difficulty, adjusted his glasses, and took several breaths before sitting up.
"I'm at loss again. If Jiang Mo finds out, he'll ask me to play games with him for three days and three nights. That's scary..." He looked up and saw Tang Butian looking at him intently.
He patted the snow off his body and stood up, "I rolled around so hard that my bones are about to fall apart," he walked to Tang Butian, "Are you excited? You're going to have a fight soon."
"What's going on?" Tang Butian asked.
"Hu Yuefeng knows very well what happened when Huang Hu died, but he probably thinks that Zhuang Zekun is behind it, so he used Huang Juan as bait, threw out all the core disciples of the inner courtyard, and used them as sacrifices to briefly bring the entire fragment world here..." Jiang You looked at Tang Butian, "How do you feel now?"
Tang Butian frowned, then she closed her eyes and felt it carefully for a while, then she said, "There is no spiritual power here."
"There is no spiritual power that you can sense and use," Jiang You corrected Tang Butian's statement, "The rules are different from those outside. Hu Yuefeng and his men want to take advantage of this to fight back."
“They control the rules and take the initiative.”
"Right," Jiang You looked around, "I also roughly understand why Zhuang Zekun was determined to get you down the mountain."
"Why?" Tang Butian asked.
"It established the rules. Here, you have to cut off the rules here, then it will really die. Thousands and tens of thousands of years ago, it would have had the initial godhood, immortal and indestructible." Jiang You rubbed his neck, "I think I have a stiff neck because of rolling around."
"Where's the minced ginger?" Tang Butian asked.
…
Sun Yu stood halfway up the hill, and a shadow seemed to be floating in the dim sky.
"Meow!" Zhao Cai called out.
Then Jiang Mo struggled out of his arms and staggered uphill.
"Xiao Mo, don't walk around." Sun Yu took a few quick steps forward, trying to grab Jiang Mo, but missed...
He looked around and Jiang Mo disappeared.
"Xiaomo! Xiaomo!" He shouted loudly several times.
No one responded to him.
A transparent spider silk was wrapped around his wrist.
…
On a small path in the field not far away, Zhuang Zekun and Guan Nuo crawled up from the ground.
"Where are we?" Guan Nuo asked.
"The inner courtyard is a fragmented world. Xiaojuan and the others were trained here." Zhuang Zekun looked around.
"Same as last time?"
"Almost. This place is more stable..." Zhuang Zekun saw Guan Nuo took out three copper coins and threw them into the air. Zhuang Zekun stopped him and said, "Wait, here..."
The copper coin rolled a few times in the air and then stopped.
Guan Nuo felt that all the strength in his body was suddenly drained away.
His eyes went dark, and then his body went limp.
The copper coins also fell to the ground.
Zhuang Zekun hugged him.
"The rules here are different from outside."
Zhuang Zekun looked in the direction where the voice came from. A thin man in a dark brown jacket was standing not far in front of him. Zhuang Zekun recognized him. It was Sun Xiu.
Zhuang Zekun held Guan Nuo cautiously and took a step back.
"This is not the place to talk. Follow me." Sun Xiu turned around and walked out.
Zhuang Zekun watched Sun Xiu’s figure gradually get smaller.
Finally , he sighed and followed.
