Volume 3: Immortal Boat Luofu Chapter 40: Cold-Faced Little Green Dragon
Chapter 40: Cold-Faced Little Green Dragon
The company's spacecraft returned from space, bringing with it a group of people who had been displaced for many years. Clark sent the press release he wrote to Louise, and sent the autographed photo of Black Tower to his adoptive parents in Kansas via email.
An alloy suitcase stood quietly at his feet, containing tools for connecting to the simulated universe. A suitcase filled with ordinary clothes was next to it, and a corner of an expensive suit leaked out from the gap in the suitcase.
Clark was talking on the phone to the clerk at the suit shop, humbly asking them to pay in installments.
"Mr. Bruce Wayne, does the Wayne Group intend to cooperate with our company again?"
At the party, a businessman asked the famous playboy questions, trying to get the Wayne Group's business secrets.
"Company? What company? I paid a huge price to hire a CEO. Why do you need to ask me about such things?" The rich man who was hugging the beautiful girl didn't care at all and didn't even think about setting a good example for his adolescent adopted son.
And the adolescent adopted son was using an earpiece to eavesdrop on S.H.I.E.L.D.
Steve Rogers was rescued by S.H.I.E.L.D. He was frozen in a huge block of ice, holding a bronze box with a carved animal head in his hand.
"That's right, Director Nick Fury, that's the star core." Bronya Rand's voice came from a recorder, slightly distorted:
"Beloberg has been fighting the Star Core for more than half a century. No one knows its harm better than us. Even Ms. Black Tower in the space station has not figured out the secret of the Star Core. Please do not act rashly..."
The young governor's voice was cut off by a hand wearing a black leather glove. The recorder was put back into the pocket of his windbreaker. The hand took the lighter from the pocket and ignited the blue-green fireworks with a snap.
Nick Fury took a deep drag on his cigarette, feeling the low-quality nicotine filling his lungs and being exhaled. The calming effect of tobacco eased his anxiety slightly. He watched the agents of SHIELD come in and out, trying to decorate the room the same as it was seventy years ago.
"Hello, Captain?"
After the agent told him that the man was about to wake up, Nick, wearing a jacket from the last century, said the greeting he had rehearsed many times to the awakened Sleeping Beauty. He tried his best to act like an ordinary World War II soldier, even his boots were covered with deliberate mud spots.
However, the awakened Captain America was not as panicked as he had imagined. He was even a little too calm. His blue eyes stared at him, and his handsome face was the greatest tolerance of time: "I think it's been more than seventy years now, right?"
"Jesus..." Nick widened his only eye. Did someone leak the news? Impossible, this was clearly the first time Captain America opened his eyes in more than 70 years.
He thought of the only reasonable explanation: "Were you conscious the whole time you were in the ice?"
"I just had an interesting dream." Steve shrugged, looking gentle and natural: "The dream about the lady of the black tower, she is really a genius, isn't she?"
The Black Tower, it was indeed her, which means: "We received a special coordinate, it seems that it was sent by her. It's an honor. I didn't expect that SHIELD would catch her eye."
There was obvious respect in Nick's tone. No matter what era, the name Black Tower would shine like the morning star in the sky. She alone could represent the highest intelligence of all mankind and was as enchanting as a god.
The face of the old friend is just a sight of yesterday to Steve, but to people not in the space station, it is like a myth or legend. It was the information left behind in the Black Tower that laid the foundation of S.H.I.E.L.D., making the entire American technology stand proudly in the world.
"Captain, we need your help." Nick told Steve his real purpose. He believed that Steve would not refuse.
"Why? Another war that needs me?"
"No, it's Stark, Anthony Stark, Howard Stark's son. He needs your help." The director of SHIELD took out a photo of Tony Stark from his clothes. This guy looks a lot like his father.
"What happened?" Steve frowned. If Superman hadn't lied to him, the world today has been peaceful for a long time, and Howard's son should have talents that are no less than his. Why would he need his help?
"Little Stark is now an arms dealer. He was kidnapped by terrorists when he went to Afghanistan to trade a flower collection. Captain, we need your help."
Nick said half-seriously that being kidnapped was of course true, but it didn't necessarily require Captain America to step in. It was just that it was a rare opportunity for these things to come together, so why not use this incident to train the Captain and help him feel a sense of belonging in the new world.
No one asked Tony's opinion, and Steve quickly agreed. Nick gave him the suit and shield, and they boarded a plane directly to Afghanistan.
Bang, Bang, Bang...
In the desert of Afghanistan, a man with a mustache tried to rub out the cutting-edge weapons he had made with his hands. An unlucky doctor was caught to help him. The original protagonist, the flower-growing box, was thrown aside at random. The terrorists monitored them through surveillance and did not notice the hidden Tin Man at all.
"Ethan, hold on." Tony Stark encouraged his companion. There was a huge hole in his chest, and the small reactor installed inside was barely maintaining his vital signs.
"I think we should just forget it. Can we really succeed?"
Ethan still felt it was unreliable. Putting a layer of iron on the outside of the body to fight against those vicious guys? Seriously? They could blow this cave up with just one RPG! Did he accidentally hit his head during the heart surgery?
"Believe me, Ethan, I'm Tony Stark, the most dazzling genius of this century." Stark boasted, and what he said was not wrong, but under the shining of the Black Tower of last century, this century's star seemed a little dim.
(A foster father who did not want to reveal his name snorted disdainfully.)
Player: "How about letting Boshizun take a look at Stark? According to the comics, he should be able to fight the Black Tower."
System: "Has the Master of Knowledge finished loading? That's all you need to do. Hurry up and arrange for someone to come out and get some wool. The energy of the Immortal Boat is just a little bit short."
"Boom——" Dust fell.
"Enemy attack!"
"Damn, where on earth did this guy come from..."
Suddenly, there was a sound of fierce fighting outside the cave. Stark stopped the hammer in his hand, and Ethan began to translate against the wall, while considerately filtering out some vulgar words.
"Ethan, come and help me!" Stark put himself in a metal shell. He didn't know what was happening outside, but no matter whether reinforcements came from the sky or there was an internal conflict within the gang, the most important thing was to hold his fists in his own hands.
"Damn, it's stuck..." Because it was too urgent and time was tight, there was a small problem in their production. Stark saw the doomed expression on Ethan's face, which was a little bad, but before he could say anything, the door was opened.
To be precise, it was kicked open.
Perhaps it was the talent of the Vajra Dragonborn, or perhaps he had not yet adapted to the relatively backward technological environment here. Dan Heng originally just wanted to test the sturdiness of this door, but he did not expect it to shatter with one hit, just like the terrorists outside.
"Excuse me, who is Mr. Stark?" The black-haired young man raised his head and looked uncertainly at the two people in front of him. One of them was stuck in a metal shell and seemed unable to move.
A handsome young man with an Asian face. Ethan found a red mark at the end of his left eye, which made his originally cold face look bright. His clothes were mixed with the characteristics of his own nation, but he really couldn't figure out where the culture came from.
"Who are you?" Stark asked motionlessly. He stared at the spear in the young man's hand and couldn't tell what it was made of. The black and white ball hanging in the middle was not made of any known material.
"I'm Dan Heng, someone sent by the company. Mr. Stark, your subordinate, Miss Pepper, bought the company's 'Terrorist Kidnapping Insurance' for you. In order not to pay... to live up to this insurance premium, I will be responsible for rescuing you."
Danheng, who had nowhere to stay and had to work in a company, answered like this. Fortunately, he was handsome and good at fighting, so he avoided the fate of being sold as a gigolo.
"What kind of insurance measures are so hardcore..."
Ethan took the company ID photo from Danheng's hand and showed it to Stark. They both thought it didn't look fake. What's more, the humanoid Tyrannosaurus Rex in front of them took on an entire terrorist lair by himself, so he wouldn't lie to two powerless rookies.
"Can I see your gun?" While Ethan continued to adjust his armor, Stark, out of curiosity, stretched his head to take a look at the Jiyun in Danheng's hand. It had a green appearance, but had nothing to do with bronze. Could it be vibranium?
Is the company rich enough to equip everyone with vibranium? Have they found a vibranium mine?
"Sorry, this is a personal item." Dan Heng calmly stuffed Jiyun into his arms. The armrest on his arm seemed to be slightly warm due to the friction. "Is it ready?"
"Wait a little longer, just a little longer." Ethan wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"Better hurry up, someone will be here to support us soon."
An ominous premonition hung over Dan Heng's heart. He glanced around the cave and saw a familiar box among the documents scattered on the ground.
"Wait, there is a star core here?" He realized in despair that some things are unavoidable, and his expression was as ugly as if he would meet a dark female ghost in the next second.
At the same time, in the consciousness space.
Player: “This day has finally come.”
System: "It should have come a long time ago."
Player: "It's the first time for us to fill such a big gap. Fortunately, we did it. The puzzle of the flower-growing civilization has been completed. The people who were swallowed by nothingness because they realized the existence of the loophole have returned to their normal life trajectory because of the change of the world line."
System: "Who made it so that there is no flower grower among the main characters of this world? Even the existence of flower growers is completely avoided in the world story. What is the difference between this and Nuwa mending the sky?"
"Well, start it then." The player gave the system a firm look.
"The Immortal Boat Luofu Fusion Patch Flower Planting Version is officially online. The free world line is now established and cannot be changed. Are you sure to continue all the causes and effects?"
"I confirm that this is the only solution."
Suddenly, the heaven and earth shook, golden light shone and rushed straight into the sky, mountains and rivers for thousands of miles returned to the horizon, the stars in the sky were all stunning, and all nations paid attention.
