Volume 3: Dance of the Aurora Chapter 24 Scent

"…T-800…Is my family safe now?"
Fang Cheng had just made several phone calls to his parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, and without exception, no one answered the calls.
Ai Bishui couldn't see his expression clearly now. The boy opposite was sitting cross-legged, his hands covering his face and curled up into a bow. She could only hear that the other person's tone was weak, as if every word was forced out.
She had gone through so many things in the less than twenty-four hours from last night to this point, and her parents and relatives were still unknown whether they were alive or dead. It was difficult for her to imagine Fang Cheng's mental state now.
She put Fang Cheng's experience into her own experience, and a chill instantly ran down her spine. She didn't dare to think about it any further.
"I don't have any information about your relatives, so I can't make a judgment. The current detection accuracy is not enough to track every one of your blood relatives in real time."
A very unemotional answer.
Ai Bishui sat next to Fang Cheng, put her arm around his shoulders and let him rest his head on her body, slightly below his collarbone, while she gently stroked his hair up and down with her hand.
It would be a big problem if this child had a mental breakdown here. Let's think of a way to calm him down first.
When she was in primary school, she would go home and cry to her mother every time she was pranked at school, and her mother would comfort her in this way. At such times, she would secretly inhale the smell .
So from her personal experience, this action is very effective in calming down. Sometimes she falls asleep while being patted like this, and her sleep quality is very high.
Thinking of this, she suddenly became a little worried about whether she had a strange smell. She had already wiped off the sweat she had sweated, so it shouldn't smell bad now. Was the smell on her body the same as the smell in the quilt when she woke up every morning?
The smell is quite pleasant, I feel intoxicated just by smelling it.
Tsk, if that's the case, it would be a good deal for him.
Pheromones are a magical chemical substance. Different people may smell different pheromones from the same person, and the feelings they describe are also different. What's even more magical is that even if the other person is the same, the smell you smell from him will be different when you have different views and feelings about him. I don't know if this can be used as a basis for judging whether you like someone or not.
The details here may seem complicated, but there is a reason for this complexity. After all, pheromones in nature have a communication function and are used as a language by many insects, the most famous of which are bees and ants.
However, the pheromones emitted by our own species do not seem to have been studied so deeply.
What she didn't know was that Fang Cheng had clearly smelled her scent when he first met her, and that smell was exactly the same as the smell in the quilt in the morning.
Ai Bishui was distracted for about four or five seconds, and suddenly remembered that he had something important to do..
"…What is that monster doing now? How long has it been there?"
As she spoke, she opened the three-dimensional map and carefully examined the terrain around the coordinates.
The three-dimensional photos taken on the map software are of course not displayed in real time, so they will not show the appearance of the original body. Now she can only see the nuclear power plant with neatly arranged cooling towers and the blue sea. There seems to be no residential area next to this large building.
"According to the data detected by the orbiting probe, there is more than 90% probability that the protozoa is undergoing its first self-replication, although its complexity has not yet reached the critical value for reproduction."
"Not reaching the critical value...what does that mean?"
"Simply put, its current brain circuits are not complex enough to replicate itself."
In civilized society, this kind of behavior of private reproduction before the children have fully grown up is strictly prohibited and is not tolerated by ethics.
"Emmm, is its brain also growing all the time? Can the Hopfield model also explain this?"
"Its brain is constantly growing, but the current scientific paradigm does not understand how this growth occurs, so according to the regulations I cannot answer the second question."
If humans truly understood the brain structure of metal creatures, the consequences of biological reconstruction would be much more serious than the defective product currently being privately made by undergraduates, and would even threaten the foundation of civilization.
"Ah, what regulations are you talking about?"

The human brain is not static from the moment we are born, but is constantly forming new synaptic connections, changing its own connection structure every moment.
In the 1980s, John Hopfield constructed a mathematical network model. In addition to the encoded numerical values, this network model also defined a global energy, which directly affects the dynamic behavior of the network.
This defined energy also makes it fundamentally different from the von Neumann machine. The underlying logic of learning and memory of the two is completely different.
To this day, computers all over the world use the von Neumann structure, in which storage and computation are separate, so computers designed according to this architecture are also called stored-program computers.
When processing a problem, this type of computer must constantly call information between the memory and the central processing unit, so the speed of calculation is limited by the so-called "von Neumann bottleneck".
The Hopfield network is completely different. Its memory and operation unit are both networks. The information to be remembered is stored at the local energy minimum of the network. Like a gravity system, this network will actively fall into its own energy minimum point when running, just like a ball on a concave and convex surface will fall into the local lowest hole.
Therefore, this kind of network can naturally simulate the associative function of the human brain, because if we input information related to the previously memorized content, the network structure will always output the value stored by the local lowest energy point, just like when we see a clip of an apple, we will automatically think of a real apple.
However, this network has a fatal flaw, which is that it can only solve a limited number of problems and cannot be used as a Turing machine. In fact, this is not a problem with the design itself, but our knowledge is still not enough to design a mathematical model that can truly simulate the dynamic structure of the human brain.
Don't forget that the human brain has 100 billion neurons, trillions of neuronal connections, and hundreds of millions of neural circuits. No one can understand himself.
In fact , humans don’t even know whether the brain’s upper limit has reached the level of being able to understand the entire neural circuit image. Can our minds really understand an object as complex as ourselves?
