Volume 3: A Tombstone Stained with Sin and Blood Chapter 145 Image
A student went missing, the first time this had happened in the carriage since the exile .
Moreover, Percy would be promoted to seventh grade after the summer vacation, which meant he would be a half-adult wizard. Moreover, his academic performance was excellent, and he could be said to be the best among his classmates.
Even if someone sneaked into the carriage and hijacked him, it would be impossible not to make any noise.
The small welcome dinner that had been scheduled was cancelled. After searching the entire carriage without success, McGonagall immediately passed the message to Dumbledore, who was handling other matters at the Order of the Phoenix. Soon Dumbledore came to the carriage with the pale-faced Weasleys.
Apparently, Ron's parents, Arthur Weasley and Molly Weasley, were with Dumbledore when they received the news, so they came to the carriage as soon as they learned that their son was missing.
In the headmaster's office, all the professors came here except Hagrid who was driving and Filch who was watching the students in the cafeteria.
Arthur and Molly were restless, and even Molly's eyes were a little red, but at least she maintained basic calmness and listened to the professors sort out today's situation.
"Percy was not found in the carriage. He is most likely no longer here."
McGonagall's voice became a little hurried, and it was obvious that she was very concerned about Percy's safety. It was not that she favored Percy, but she would be so nervous if any student in the carriage encountered such a situation.
Lily's voice was much calmer.
"This morning, I took the last freshman of this year back to the carriage, and Hagrid stopped the carriage at that time. The fireplace in the carriage is only connected to the Floo network of Grimmauld Place, and there is no way to use Apparition in the carriage. If there is no one to help, he can only leave the carriage at that time."
Arthur took a deep breath and his mind was relatively calm.
" Why leave school without saying anything? When he came home a while ago, he was obviously very happy about becoming the male president after the new semester started, and he kept showing off to his brothers and sisters."
"You forgot, Arthur." Molly's eyes were red, "Before he returned to school from home, he had a big fight with George and Fred, saying that they had no respect for him as a brother at all."
"They have had many quarrels like this before." Arthur shook his head and sighed, "I don't think this time is any different from the previous ones. Besides, even if there is a quarrel between the brothers, they should not leave the school. Where will he go?"
"Maybe he went home to see us?" Molly guessed hopefully.
"If that is the case, then we should see him at home at noon. He will Apparate and leave the carriage and want to go home. It will take less than a minute."
There was a brief silence in the office. Dumbledore did not participate in their speculation, but kept looking at the fireplace thoughtfully, wondering what he was thinking.
He waited until everyone was quiet and looking at him before turning to Flitwick and asking.
"You said before that you found a robe that Percy left in his bedroom?"
Flitwick nodded.
"That was a Christmas present from the school last Christmas. I found two things in the pocket of his robe."
In the headmaster's office, six eyes turned to him, and Flitwick pulled a small glass bottle and a badge from his pocket and placed them on the desk.
The badge was the Head Boy badge that Percy had received not long ago during the summer vacation, and the small glass bottle contained a third of a bottle of glittering green powder that looked very similar to Floo powder.
"Remus and I have examined this badge, and there is no trace of any spell on it." Flitwick said, "But neither of us recognized what the powder in the bottle was. At first I thought it was just ordinary Floo powder, but Remus reminded me and made me realize that this thing is different from Floo powder. It doesn't seem to have the function of connecting to the Floo network."
Dumbledore's gaze paused on the chairman's badge for a second, then looked at the bottle of powder that seemed to be Floo powder.
He picked up the glass bottle, pulled out the cork, put the bottle mouth to his nose and sniffed it.
"This is a variation of Floo powder," he said. "Two years ago, the magic company that made Floo powder launched a new product. Put the powder on the fireplace, and you can record a video facing the fire. If you want to see the video, just sprinkle the collected powder into the fireplace. But because it is not very practical and it is very troublesome to collect the powder again, most wizards don't have much demand for recording videos. This thing was only on the market for less than a year before it was discontinued."
He put the glass bottle back on the desk, and Arthur and Molly stared at the small glass bottle.
"What message is this Percy trying to leave us?"
"As far as I know, Percy never left the carriage during the time this thing was sold." Dumbledore crossed his arms, his eyes deep. "You haven't even heard of this thing, so it's impossible for him to bring it from home to school. If he wanted to leave a message for us, how did he get it?"
The headmaster's office suddenly fell silent, and everyone else had obviously followed Dumbledore's words and thought of this.
Molly's face turned frighteningly pale.
"My son was kidnapped!"
Arthur's lips were trembling, but he still grabbed Molly's hand, giving her the reassurance that he was still there, and he tried his best to remain calm.
"Whoever left this thing, let's take a look at it, Dumbledore."
Dumbledore nodded and handed the bottle to Lupin, who poured the powder into the fireplace, which had been extinguished all summer.
And the moment the powder fell into the fireplace, green flames rose up, and soon the flames formed a familiar human face, which appeared in the fireplace.
This person was none other than Percy who had disappeared from the carriage!
Seeing that face that couldn't be more familiar, Molly's tears were already streaming down her cheeks.
Everyone in the principal's office was looking at the thin boy wearing glasses who was approaching adulthood. His face made of green flames clearly showed that he had a very cold expression when he was recording the video.
He looked ahead, as if he was looking at all the professors at Hogwarts and his parents face to face.
"I have always believed that outstanding people should have more rights, Professor Dumbledore."
