Volume 2: The crown and the hat are all over the capital, and the spirit is full of energy and enter the foggy city Chapter 90: Strength Card (Part 1)

Subtitle of this chapter: What do you think? Should we let Lady Lex sink?
Most of the questions about who the twenty-two Major Arcana cards of the SCP Foundation correspond to have been satisfactorily answered.
I am very sure of the following:
Fool No. 0 is Yuan Yanshu himself.
Magician number 1 is Mr. Howard Phillips Lovecraft.
Priestess No. 2 is Ms. Emma Pulitzer.
Queen number 3 is Ms. Helen Brown.
King number 4 is Mr. John McCall.
Pope No. 5 is Mr. Louis Baker.
Lover No. 6 is Ms. Lillian Gish.
Hermit number 9 is Mr. Edgar Hoover.
Fate number 10 is Ms. Enuka Rochelle.
Justice No. 11 is Mr. Julian Hermann Chandler.
Tower No. 16 is Mr. Nikola Tesla.
What I am roughly certain of, but lack solid evidence for, is:
The hanged man number 12 is suspected to be Benito Mussolini.
Temperance No. 14 is suspected to be Adolf Hitler.
The Moon on the 18th and the Sun on the 19th have been mentioned before, so I won’t go into details here.
In addition, cards No. 7 Chariot, No. 8 Strength, No. 13 Death, No. 15 Devil, No. 17 Star, No. 20 Judgment, and No. 21 World do have their own corresponding suspects, but there are plural suspects for these cards, and the author is still unable to determine which one it is.
For example, the number 7 tank card. One theory is that it was Guderian, and another theory is that it was Patton. These two tank commanders did have some contact with Yuan Yanshu. However, there is another theory that the tank was a warlord who was very active in the Central Plains of China in the 1920s and 1930s - Li Jie and Li Ziyi.
There is also the Strength card No. 8, which obviously corresponds to a big banker, because Yuan Yanshu has a catchphrase, money is power. But there are too many big bankers who are familiar with him, some say it is Andrew Mellon, some say it is Joseph Kennedy, some say it is George Baker Sr.... and some even say it is JP Morgan Jr.
But there is another suspect, that is Heinze Siegfried Chandler. He was once a famous senior officer in the US Navy, and he is also the youngest son of Mr. Julian Chandler, Yuan Yanshu's teacher. His eldest brother is Justice No. 11, and his sister Eva Chandler is a movie star, rumored to be Hitler's mistress.
This American naval officer was suspected of swallowing up the huge amount of wealth left by Japan in Southeast Asia with his subordinates at the end of World War II, and this huge amount of wealth is likely to have entered the vault of the SCP Foundation. This has enabled this secret organization to truly start making waves around the world.
Therefore, it can be said that he is the one who provides the real "power" to the SCP Foundation.
Born in Harrisburg, the capital of Pennsylvania, in 1904, he entered the U.S. Naval Academy in 1921, graduated in 1925 and was assigned to the Philippine Fleet. In 1927, he was promoted to ensign and served as the boatswain of the fast transport ship Chaumont. From 1929 to 1932, he was a staff officer of the Asiatic Fleet Transport Formation.
However, since Heintje returned to the Philippines from China, the good officer who was described as "extremely professional soldier" in the graduation comments and even considered to have "the temperament of a Prussian soldier" has become a joke and a source of worry for his superiors.
He was originally extremely strict with his subordinates and had no interest in social activities. Instead, he was keen on literary creation and was a writer of some fame.
But at that time, Lieutenant Heintje not only relaxed the discipline of his own unit, but also became the defender and protector of other soldiers who violated the rules. Therefore, he was quite popular in his own unit.
However, he was popular not only in the army, but also among the ladies outside the army. Later, there was a scandal that the daughter of the deputy commander and the wife of a captain were jealous of him and caused a fight, which almost got him expelled from the army.
But Heintje had some connections in Washington, and finally his superiors had no choice but to send him aboard the ship without having to worry about him.
As for why he changed so much, it was probably because he had too much contact with another famous "playboy" Yuan Yanshu during his time in Shanghai, so he was infected with the "playboy virus". Some people also said that it was a failed relationship that caused his personality to change drastically.
After President Roosevelt was elected in 1932, he was transferred back to the Navy Department in Washington to work as a civilian. It is worth noting that Heintje's recommendation for admission that year was two deputy secretaries of the Navy, both of whom were named Roosevelt, so he should have known FDR before that.
During his tenure in Washington, he learned to fly at his own expense and became a member of the aircraft carrier faction of the US Navy at that time. The author believes that he must have been influenced by Yuan Yanshu's "Air Force Cost-Effectiveness Theory".
However, the lieutenant's remarks seemed very radical at the time. He often published articles in newspapers, claiming that all battleships and heavy cruisers should be retired or converted into aircraft carriers. The navy only needed three main combat ships: aircraft carriers, destroyers and submarines.
Of course, he had his fair share of romantic affairs in Washington.
So even though he had some personal relationship with President Roosevelt, he was eventually kicked out by the Navy. Starting in 1934, he became a lieutenant military attaché, serving in British Singapore, Dutch Malaya, and French Annan, mainly responsible for the dispatch of personnel and materials between the embassy and military bases.
Because of this position and his love for flying, or perhaps for some other reasons, during this period he flew almost all over Southeast Asia, becoming a rare Southeast Asia expert in the US Navy.
He was promoted to captain and went to Japan in 1937. There he met a group of like-minded naval "aircraft carrier factions". Unfortunately, all of them were Japanese.
When in Japan, Japanese naval officers often invited him to places of entertainment. The unmarried captain was especially popular among Japanese geishas because of his handsome appearance and generosity, so he was nicknamed "Captain Pinkerton".
Well, this is the surname of the protagonist in Madame Butterfly, written by Italian playwright Puccini. This opera is so famous that there is no need to introduce it in detail. You just need to know that the protagonist Pinkerton in the opera is also a captain in the US Navy.
After entering the 1940s, the clouds of war over the Pacific Ocean were getting closer and closer. Perhaps it was President Roosevelt's care, or perhaps it was the increasingly prominent role of aircraft carriers, Heinze Chandler finally became a major, and finally returned to the ship unit, and finally got his wish to board the aircraft carrier "Lexington (USS Lexington CV-2)".
On the day when the Japanese Navy attacked Pearl Harbor, the Lexington was transporting planes from Pearl Harbor to Midway Island, thus escaping the disaster and becoming the only surviving aircraft carrier in the Pacific Fleet..
