Volume 1: First Arrival Chapter 049 Furious

"Corpse ...corpse..."
A bean sprout stumbled into the hotel lobby, shouting loudly, his face pale, his unfocused pupils looking around aimlessly, but he was completely distracted and had no idea what he was looking for. He rushed around like a headless fly, repeating the same word over and over.
But obviously, in this bean sprout's short life of six or seven years, he had not yet learned the formal professional terminology of "corpse", so he shouted "corpse" without even a prefix, which sounded like "body" to others and did not cause any commotion or confusion .
To be more precise, after seeing that it was a tiny creature that made the sound, the guests coming and going around didn't have time to even look at the little guy.
So the little guy walked along in confusion and fear. In his eyes, the adult world was like a forest and he could not see the exit.
Then, the little one saw a uniformed figure, like a lighthouse in the vast ocean, running away quickly with a series of small steps.
But because he was too anxious and eager, he was about to reach his destination, but he didn't know how he stepped on empty air and flew forward.
Sizzle.
It glided all the way and finally appeared in front of Kirk.
There was no time to groan. He raised his head and called out again, "Corpse."
It was the same word over and over again. Paul was a little annoyed. "Shut up, kids. Please stop your nonsense and stop playing pranks."
Kirk ignored Paul, quickly squatted down, picked up Xiao Douya, and said in a slow tone, "Body, what body?"
It was obvious at first glance that Xiao Douya was so frightened that he had even forgotten the pain, fear, and crying. He was immersed in a state of shock and unable to extricate himself. His brain froze and he kept repeating the same idea and concept over and over again, supporting himself with an obsession.
"Dead-Body."
Xiao Douya swallowed his saliva, stared at Kirk blankly, and spoke blankly, like a robot being input with commands.
This time, Callum couldn't help but be startled -
It was one thing to believe Kirk, but the fact that Callum had never found any definite evidence made him inclined to believe that this was a false report.
However, now, another child appeared, and Callum could clearly sense the subtle change in the atmosphere. There was indeed something weird surging.
"Kirk!" Callum couldn't help but exclaimed.
If Mrs. Johnson was not the victim, then who was responsible for the accident in Room 411 and the body that was just discovered?
Callum's first reaction was that they needed to go to Mrs. Johnson's room and confirm her condition with their own eyes; otherwise, was there a possibility that Corbyn asked his assistant to pretend to be his wife and call the front desk to forge evidence, confuse the public, and hide the truth?
"Ridiculous!" Paul cursed almost at the same time.
Obviously, he had different ideas than Callum.
"Shut up!"
"Shut up, all of you! This is the Plaza Hotel, not the Easter Fun Fair."
"It's not funny at all that you two teamed up to play a prank!"
Cursing, Paul was about to swear, but Kirk stopped him, "Sir, you need to watch your words."
Calm, cold, yet with a sense of chill.
Paul's words were cut off in an instant, and then he realized that the children of the hotel guests were either rich or noble, and none of them could be provoked by him. Although he was angry, he had no way to deal with these children. Otherwise, if they complained to their parents, who knew what would happen.
However, Paul was not completely helpless. "Officer, these kids have been playing pranks and reporting false cases. Are you going to be fooled like this?"
Killing with a borrowed knife, Paul looked at the police and...private detective in front of him, they were like ready-made knives.
Kirk was 100% sure that the little bean sprout in front of him was not lying.
Eyes don't lie.
It was not fear or panic, but a kind of bewilderment and confusion. You could tell at a glance that he was completely frightened.
While there are many possible explanations, the best one is that he actually saw the body.
Kirk looked at Paul and said, "In order to confirm that the child has made a false report, should we go and check it out? If there is no body, then the truth will be revealed."
Kirk did not respond. The whole scene was too chaotic. He did not have time to deal with Paul's temper, so he might as well take advantage of Paul's anger.
Sure enough, Paul was completely unaware of Kirk's plan. Instead, his eyes lit up and he looked impatient, "Let's go and take a look."
It seemed that as long as there was no corpse, it could be proved that this was a prank by a group of children, and then he could make Kirk shut up. He didn't even need to wait for thirty minutes, and the hotel could return to normal order in a turn. He was even more proactive than Kirk and started quickly.
However, Kirk did not follow immediately.
One second, two seconds——
Paul came back with an embarrassed look on his face. "Where? Where did you see the body?"
Xiao Douya was still a little confused and muttered to himself, "...the game room."
Paul did not stop. He turned around and strode forward, looking at the noisy crowd in front of him, just like a tour guide in Bali, waving his right arm and shouting "sorry" and "make way" repeatedly, while shaking his arms, fearing that Kirk and the others behind him would accidentally fall behind.
Time is precious.
Kirk held Bean Sprout in his arms, and Callum held Henry's hand, and the two of them followed quickly, one in front and the other behind.
It was a little surprising that there was still some distance from the lobby to the game room, but when I thought about it carefully, the Plaza Hotel covers a vast area, so it didn't seem that surprising.
Kirk thought of the little bean sprout in his arms——
After seeing the corpse with his own eyes, he stumbled out and shouted for help but received no response.
Kirk didn't say much. He just gently hugged Xiao Douya in his arms and patted his back lightly. He could feel the tense muscles in his back seemed to relax a little. His cheek rested on his shoulder, and his chubby little face bounced gently with his footsteps.
"I saw……"
As if he finally felt safe, Xiao Douya came back to his senses a little and muttered in Kirk's ear.
"I'm trying to play a game, but it seems to be broken."
"They told me no, it was probably just not plugged in."
"I crawled around the back and the fender came down and then I saw it."
"She was wearing a plastic bag, like a snowman. I thought it was a snowman and was about to get closer, and then she fell down."
"It tastes weird, really weird."
"But, I really saw it, why did no one pay attention to me?"
Vague and ambiguous, with only broken language and no complete context, Xiao Douya was immersed in his own thoughts, recalling those scenes.
Despite this, Kirk was still able to capture enough information from the fragments of information. The truth was hidden in the fog, as if there was only a layer of window paper; but that layer of window paper made everything hidden in the haze.
Perhaps, seeing the bodies and the victims, the truth will come to light.
"where?"
"Where?"
In a blink of an eye, the game hall was right in front of them, and Paul's impatient voice was heard.
