Volume 1 Chapter 6: The Haunted House
Old Zhang was the cook at the police station. He also worked part-time as a handyman. He was honest and simple. It was really unfair that he was killed by a ghost for no reason. I sighed and pulled Liu Kun back inside, asking him quietly where the kitchen was. He said it was in the northeast corner. I asked him to lead the way, went into the kitchen, found a leftover steamed bun, scooped a bucket of cold water, and walked out of the door again.
First, they tied the old man's hands with a red rope, pinched his mouth open, and asked Liu Kun to break off a piece of steamed bun and put it into his mouth. Then they closed his jaw tightly, and saw his throat roll and swallow the bun. Liu Kun was so scared that his whole body trembled, thinking that the old man had resurrected, and he covered his face and dared not look.
I said it was okay, because he died unjustly, and he died at midnight, so he had nothing in his stomach, which was a common "hungry ghost guarding the door". If he was not given food, I'm afraid the police station would not be peaceful in the future. Now the red rope tied his hands, laid the body of Old Zhang flat on the ground, and asked Liu Kun to put the bucket of cold water around his body, so that the resentment would not dissipate, and would slowly subside, and he would not cause trouble in the future.
After dealing with Old Zhang, I led Liu Kun to continue walking along the paper money road sign. The direction was due west. The street was quiet, without a single pedestrian. This had a lot to do with the fact that today was the Ghost Festival. Since the reform and opening up, our Shangcheng Town has become very prosperous, with karaoke bars, saunas and nightclubs. In the past, during this time, we often encountered drunkards hugging women to sing songs, or people playing cards and going out to eat, and cars drove by from time to time.
It was so quiet at the moment, and I was following the ghost's footprints. It was undoubtedly a huge stimulation. I couldn't help but feel my heart beating wildly.
The further west I walked, the more my scalp tingled, because the town was long from north to south and short from east to west, and soon I was out of town and in the suburbs. According to folk custom, the west is the gate of hell, and the western suburbs of the town are also where the cemetery is. It is quite desolate here, except for the dark graves and a few sparse trees. Under the shadow of the Ghost Festival, the more I looked, the more I felt that there was a ghost standing there!
The night owl added to the trouble, barking from time to time, which sounded very eerie and miserable. Liu Kun, a grown man, was so scared that he was shaking all over and holding on to my clothes tightly.
I suddenly realized that a house had been built next to the cemetery. At first, I only looked into the cemetery and didn't notice its existence. At this time, I saw that the paper money disappeared outside the gate of the house, and I felt strange. However, judging from the appearance of the house and the sky above, there was a strange black air, which was definitely not a normal family. It's a pity that I didn't bring the "eye-dotting pen" when I went out tonight. It is an ancestral treasure that can temporarily open a yin-yang eye in the forehead, making the ghosts and evil spirits nowhere to hide.
Not only did I not bring the eye-dotting pen, I also did not bring many magical tools to ward off ghosts, because I am not in the business of exorcising ghosts, and I basically don’t need these things. However, I can still confirm with my naked eyes that this is a Yin house! The house where we live in the Yang world is called a Yang house, and the place where ghosts live is a Yin house.
Hehe, you dare to stir up trouble on my territory? You are asking for trouble!
I walked to the door with Liu Kun, who was as nervous as a sieve. Just as I was about to raise my hand to knock on the door, the door suddenly opened with a "Ya" sound. This sound was very harsh in the dark night and a bit eerie.
A woman who was about thirty years old, wearing white silk pajamas and had some looks, half of her body was leaning out of the door. Her face was too thickly powdered, and she looked as pale as Shen Bing. Her pouty little red mouth looked as bright as blood under the flashlight, and her two dark eyes were filled with an evil smile.
"I knew you were coming. Come in." Her voice was full of seductiveness. She winked at us and turned to walk in. Now we could see her entire back. Her pajamas were very short, with suspenders on the top, revealing a large area of snow-white skin. The bottom was not enough to cover her buttocks, exposing her two slender legs. She was wearing a pair of exquisite sandals, and her buttocks swayed as she walked, revealing most of her white underwear.
As soon as Liu Kun saw this beautiful scene, he immediately became energetic. This was the first time since the power outage that he no longer looked scared and timid. He stared at the other person's snow-white butt as he squeezed past me.
I laughed in my heart and grabbed him: "Why are you in such a hurry? Don't you think it's strange that she knew we were here before we even knocked on the door, and she didn't even ask why we were here."
"What's so strange? Aren't we here to investigate a case?" Liu Kun opened my hand and walked in with a swagger.
I looked at his back and thought to myself, his soul has been hooked by this vixen. I put the copper coin sword into my belt and followed him into the door.
The courtyard was not big. There was a screen wall at the entrance, and behind it were several rooms. At this time, the woman had already entered the house and left the door open for us. Liu Kun and I walked in one after the other and found that the furnishings inside were quite polite. Although the sofa and furniture looked a bit old, they were very clean and elegant. It was just that the lighting was too dim, which made the atmosphere in the whole house very gloomy.
Liu Kun and I sat down. The woman brought out two cups of steaming tea from the inner room and placed them on the coffee table. Liu Kun's eyes had never left her since he entered the room. He looked like a wolf that had been hungry for three days and three nights, and he was almost drooling.
The woman sat down on the sofa at one side and made a seductive gesture: "Have some tea."
Liu Kun picked up the teacup and was about to drink. I reached out and pressed the cup down, sneering, "We are not worthy of such fresh black tea." Liu Kun was stunned , not understanding what I meant, and kept trying to put it into his mouth. I flipped my palm and smashed the teacup to the ground. Suddenly, a pungent smell of blood rose up, and the tea on the ground instantly turned into a pool of bright red blood. Liu Kun looked at it and was so scared that he opened his mouth wide for a long time and dared not make a sound.
The woman's eyes first flashed with a fierce light, but it disappeared immediately. She smiled coquettishly and said, "Bad guy, why did you break someone's cup?"
Liu Kun said hurriedly: "I'm sorry, I dropped it." As he spoke, he clumsily picked up the teacup fragments on the ground.
I watched his actions coldly, knowing that his soul had been completely seduced. With a cold laugh, I pulled out the copper coin sword and placed it on the coffee table and said, "You are from another place, you don't know who I am, right? "
"Of course I know. You specialize in the dead body business." The woman smiled at me, and she was so charming that I felt a surge of excitement in my heart. Her snow-white thighs and tender breasts dazzled me and I almost couldn't control myself.
"That's good to know. There is a rule in my line of work. As long as you behave yourself, I will never pursue the matter. Let him go quickly and go back to your place of rebirth." I stared at the copper coin sword, and my mind became much clearer.
"You think I'm a ghost? You little brat are so cute." She smiled and stretched out her snow-white arms and took the copper coin sword from me.
This surprised me greatly. The copper coin itself has a huge deterrent effect on ghosts, not to mention that it is smeared with human blood and endowed with spiritual spells to become an exorcist sword. Even the most powerful ghost would not dare to touch it.
