Volume 1 Chapter 16 The Door That Cannot Be Opened

Jon didn't care about the rudeness of the boy who was obviously one of Ron's brothers. He was still thinking about some wand-wielding techniques that Professor Flitwick had taught him in the Charms class.
The magic in this world is undoubtedly a very idealistic ability. The most important thing in casting a spell is the caster himself. Spells, magic wands, and waving gestures can all be used as auxiliary means.
The absence of these does not mean that wizards lose the ability to use magic, but it will make magic more disordered, and the difficulty of learning and mastering specific spells will be infinitely magnified.
Therefore, the reason why spells, wands and wand-waving gestures were created is to enable wizards to master specific magic more accurately and orderly.
Instead of using lighting magic to illuminate the surroundings, he started a fire.
As a foundation, these are of course the key, but Jon also understands that mastering these can only ensure that the wizard can cast spells normally.
No matter what kind of magic it is, there are differences in strength. What distinguishes the power of magic is undoubtedly the most fundamental element of the wizard casting a spell - determination and magic power.
The basics can be acquired through more practice and proficiency, but determination and magic cannot be strengthened by hard work alone.
Whether a wizard has a talent for magic is reflected here. This is a very strange thing that even magic teachers cannot explain in words.
"Percy is the most annoying. Look at his expression, 'I hope I can't mess up even such a small thing'. What does he think we are? A giant monster that only knows how to eat and sleep, and the rest of the time he's just a stupid, howling troll waving a stick?"

Ron complained almost the entire way.
The red-haired boy just now was his third brother Percy Weasley. He looked different from the other children in the Weasley family and obviously lacked a sense of humor.
"Is this the storage room?"
Justin pushed open the door marked with the house number, and inside was a room used as a partition, just like the greenhouse in the herbal medicine class.
There were no wooden racks in this room, but instead there were a few wooden barrels thrown in a corner. There were seven doors on the wall opposite the entrance, with descriptions of "meat", "vegetables", "wine", etc. on them.
The task was indeed simple. The five of them easily found potatoes and onions in the storage room marked "vegetables". However, when they were about to move these things to the kitchen, Lavender's attention was suddenly attracted by a room with no mark on the door.
"What is this room for?"
Everyone else looked in the direction she pointed. The door looked no different from any other door. The only difference was that there was no special marking on it.
"It may be a pile of other useless things. Let's send these food materials to the kitchen first."
Neville was obviously able to control his curiosity. He and Jon looked at each other, and together they lifted the heaviest box of onions.
"It's better not to delay dinner."
Jon also felt that it was best not to be too curious in a magic school like this , otherwise who knows what kind of accidents might happen.
But both Ron and Lavender were already intrigued, and as Jon and Neville talked they both walked over to the door.
"It won't take long to see. Don't worry, if there was something wrong behind this door, George and Fred would have used it to scare me at home."
As Ron spoke, he put his hand on the door, then pushed it gently, and pushed the door open without any resistance.
There was a lot of space behind the door, with just a few wooden boxes piled up. It looked like an ordinary empty storage room.
"I thought there would be some interesting magic props hidden in it." Ron looked very disappointed.
And just a second after he finished speaking, a gloomy and hoarse voice suddenly sounded outside the storage room door.
"Who told you to open that door casually?"
Except for Jon, who noticed the person outside the door at the beginning, everyone else was startled by the sudden sound.

The owner of the voice was Filch, the carriage master, who was responsible for maintaining and cleaning the facilities on the carriage, and also assisted Professor McGonagall in supervising student discipline.
He walked into the storage room with his eyes that were like dead fish, staring at Ron fiercely.
"Professor McGonagall should have emphasized to you freshmen that in the carriage, except for those rooms with house numbers, other doors cannot be opened at will. Didn't you remember that?"
Ron argued as he hastily closed the door again.
"But it's just an empty room... "
"Don't give me those useless explanations. You will be the one cleaning the boys' bathroom for the next week. This will teach you a lesson!"
After explaining the punishment, Filch did not give Ron any chance to speak. He turned and left the storage room, muttering something like "If this had happened seven years ago, I would have deducted 20 points from your house."
Ron's face looked very ugly. Justin looked at him with sympathy. He picked up a bag of potatoes from the ground and walked out of the storage room with Jon and the others, carrying the ingredients.
"George and the others are right. This old guy is so annoying, even more annoying than Percy. There's obviously nothing in that room!"
Neville spoke a few words to comfort Ron, while Jon listened silently.
No matter how unlikable Filch was, he was just following the rules. Ron shouldn't have pushed open the door when they tried to persuade him from the beginning, and he deserved to be caught and punished.
Of course he would not say these words out loud. There were only five of them in the same grade, so it would be better for them to get along with each other as harmoniously as possible.
After delivering the ingredients to the kitchen, the fourth-grade students did not ask them to help with anything else. However, Jon and the others did not leave immediately. Instead, they watched from the sidelines as they prepared dinner.
When they enter the third grade, they will officially start to enter the kitchen to prepare school meals. The first two years are a time for them to learn.
Life on this Hogwarts carriage was not as stressful and depressing as Jon had initially imagined. Overall, life on the carriage was quite relaxing.
The first week of school passed peacefully. Even on a carriage, there would be weekends, but under special circumstances, the carriage would not stop and students would not be allowed to get off the carriage. They had to stay on the carriage for two days of the weekend.
Just when Jon thought that this peace would last for at least a while, he encountered a small accident on Wednesday of the second week of school.
