Volume 1 Chapter 13 The Liu Family's Corpse Sister
When we arrived at the Liu family compound, Liu Zi'an was waiting outside the door stealthily. When he saw us, he waved at us desperately, thinking that we had an accomplice in their family.
Seeing Lin Wenjing behind me, Liu Zian was stunned for a moment, but Uncle San urged him repeatedly, so he didn't bother to ask and led us in through the back door. The Liu family is indeed a wealthy family in our area. Damn, this house is so many times bigger than my house!
"Is the Zhong guy here?" Uncle San asked. Liu Zian nodded repeatedly and said, "Yes, yes. He was just talking to my grandmother and the others in the front hall."
Uncle San hummed and said that was good, it was a good opportunity to settle accounts with them. Liu Zian was surprised: "Uncle San, what do you want to settle?"
Uncle San said with a dark face: "Settle the bill for our house!"
Liu Zian said hesitantly: "House? What's wrong with your house...it has nothing to do with my house..."
I interrupted unhappily, "My house was burned down by your ghost cousin. Do you think it matters?"
When Liu Zian heard this, he screamed in fear and said tremblingly: "You...you mean my cousin...did I hear it right?"
I was too lazy to talk to him. Carrying Lin Wenjing all the way was exhausting. I asked where their kitchen was. Liu Zian turned pale and asked me tremblingly why I needed a kitchen.
I rolled my eyes and said I was almost starving, so go get me something to eat. Liu Zian then said "Oh", wiped the sweat from his forehead, and glanced at my uncle, probably asking for instructions.
Uncle San said, "Go get some steamed buns or something and eat while you walk."
Seeing that he agreed, Liu Zian turned around and led us in another direction. After entering the kitchen, I drank a large bowl of water and grabbed a few steamed buns, eating as I walked. Although the buns were cold and a little hard, they were still a delicious delicacy for me.
Whenever Liu Zian had time, he would ask me who I was carrying and whether he wanted me to carry her for him. I told him it was my cousin, and he was so scared that he almost fell down. He turned around and tried to run, but was picked up by my uncle and scolded me, "Don't talk nonsense. What if you scare people?"
I held a steamed bun in my mouth and ignored him. Actually, although I was carrying Lin Wenjing on my back, this girl had some of Liu Nan's characteristics, so it was not wrong to say that she was his cousin.
After this commotion, Liu Zian no longer dared to ask who I was carrying, and he led the way, and soon we arrived at the main hall of the Liu family. It looked really lively, with bright lights inside, and a room full of people sitting and having a banquet.
Damn it, my brother was almost killed, but these people are just sitting here drinking and eating meat! When I saw this, I was furious.
"Xiao An, where are you going...who are these people?" A middle-aged woman in her forties came out of the house. She was fair and clean and looked quite dignified. She was about to ask Liu Zian to come in quickly, but when she saw us, she was stunned.
"Mom, these are... my friends." Liu Zian ran to the woman, who turned out to be his mother. Mother Liu patted Liu Zian's shoulder lovingly and said, "Why didn't you tell me earlier that you brought your friends here?" She came over with a smile and greeted us, asking us to come in quickly.
Uncle San nodded to Liu's mother and walked in with his head held high. This old man was quite impressive when he acted pretentiously. Although I was a little reserved because it was my first time to visit such a wealthy family, I was furious when I thought that my house was burned down because of these bastards. I followed Uncle San and walked in with my head held high. But I was carrying Lin Wenjing on my back and couldn't stand up straight.
Rich people are different, their houses are decorated beautifully. There were a table full of people at the banquet, and the host was an old woman with gray hair, rich clothes, and wrinkles all over her face, but her eyes were shrewd and focused on me, as if she could see through me at a glance.
I knew in my heart that this old woman was most likely Liu Zian's grandmother. The dead-faced man surnamed Zhong was sitting on her right, and he obviously had a very high status in the Liu family. When the dead-faced man saw me, his face changed, and he was a little surprised. Then he saw Lin Wenjing, who was on my back, and he stood up suddenly.
A wealthy middle-aged man sitting on the left side of the old woman was about to But when he saw the dead face stand up, he sat back down and looked at us with a smile.
"Were you the one who rescued the person?" the dead man said coldly, but when he said this, his eyes were looking at my third uncle who was in front of me.
As soon as Uncle San entered the room, he put his hands behind his back and looked at the sky with his eyes slanted. Hearing this, he sneered and didn't answer. I cursed in my heart, this old man is still pretending to be cool at this age, so I had to step out from the back and said, "I got it." Anyway, I got it, what can you do to me!
The dead-faced man's eyes scanned over me, and it made me feel creepy.
"You came out by yourself?"
Of course I wouldn't say it was a dream, I had to save face in front of others, so I said nonchalantly, "No big deal."
The dead-faced man was silent for a moment, then he lowered his head and said a few words to the old woman surnamed Liu. The wealthy middle-aged man sitting on the left of the old woman immediately had a few chairs brought over and invited us to sit down.
Seeing Uncle San sitting down, I sat down too and hugged Lin Wenjing to my chest. I was almost exhausted after walking all the way. A round-faced young lady brought us tea. I grabbed her hand and asked her if she had any little girl's clothes and if she could get me a set.
The elder sister was startled by me. After hearing my request, she bit her lip and was in a dilemma, not knowing what to do. But the wealthy middle-aged man nodded at her, and she responded and went to the inner room.
"My friend, your methods are too cruel, aren't they?" Uncle San leaned back in his chair, crossed his legs, picked up the tea bowl and blew on it. "How could you have the heart to kill such a lovely girl?" He glanced at Lin Wenjing who I was holding.
Dead Face also sat back in his chair, picked up the tea and took a sip: "Yes, my method is poison, but it is the most effective." As soon as he said this, it was tantamount to admitting that Lin girl was harmed by him.
I immediately couldn't sit still anymore. If they weren't outnumbered, I would have really wanted to rush up and beat the hell out of them.
"Mr. Feng, you are one of the best in your field. You should be able to see how serious the harm this little girl from the Liu family will cause." The dead face said slowly while drinking tea, "I had no choice but to do this for the sake of the people within a radius of dozens of miles. If it were you, you would surely make the same choice as me."
I was so angry that I was fuming! Damn it! This was the first time I had ever seen someone so confident after hurting someone! In addition, I was almost starved to death when he locked me up in that haunted house. The new hatred and old grudges added up and I was even more furious.
I immediately yelled "Damn it" and interrupted him, "You're justified in hurting others!"
The dead face didn't even look at me, and said, "Master Feng San, is this how you discipline your children? When the elders are talking, why should the younger generation interrupt?"
Damn it!
My third uncle hummed and pointed at me and said, "He is half the decision maker in our family, so of course he can speak on my behalf." He is indeed my uncle, he really gives me face!
The dead face said gloomily: "How is the little girl from the Liu family?"
Uncle San smacked his lips and said, "What else can I do? I'll just run away."
As soon as Uncle San finished speaking, there was a "clang" sound. Someone's bowl fell to the ground and broke. I took a look and saw that half of the people at the table were scared to death. The middle-aged man wiped the sweat from his forehead frequently, as if he wanted to ask the dead face something, but he hesitated for a long time and didn't ask. I think he had some concerns.
However, some young people sitting at the bottom all looked confused, not knowing what was going on .
The dead man's face was stiff and expressionless. He slowly picked up the tea and took a sip, as if he was lost in thought.
Uncle San seemed to be in no hurry, he took a sip of tea and praised it as "good tea". The two of them were playing a guessing game, which made me feel a little depressed. Just then, the round-faced sister came out with a set of clothes, so I asked her to take me to the inner room to find an empty room.
The round-faced sister glanced at the plump middle-aged man, and when he nodded, she led me inside. On the way, I heard her talk and learned that she was Liu Zian's sister, named Liu Zining.
I was puzzled: "There are so many people in your family, why do you have to serve tea and water and do this and that?"
Liu Zining smiled but didn't say anything. I thought about it later and figured it out. It's probably because the Liu family is very patriarchal. It's probably because of the old woman that they were led astray. All the granddaughters in the family have no status.
Liu Zining led me to a room, and as soon as I entered, I smelled a faint fragrance. Looking at the furnishings in the room, most of them were delicate and exquisite. Liu Zining said this was her room and asked me if I wanted to change clothes for the little girl on my back, and she could help.
Sister Ning had been looking for clothes for me, so she didn't hear the previous conversation. Seeing that I was carrying Lin Wenjing on my back, she didn't even think that she was a corpse.
I was afraid of scaring her, so I said no, I'll do it. She looked at me, probably feeling a little weird, but didn't say anything, and handed me the clothes she had found.
I saw that it was a round-neck, ruffled, pale yellow skirt, and it looked like the right size for Lin Wenjing, so I asked whose dress it was. Liu Zining said it belonged to her cousin, but unfortunately she passed away some time ago.
I said "oh" and was a little absent-minded. Liu Zining saw that I was shirtless and asked if she wanted me to get some clothes too, saying that she had a younger brother who was about the same age as me. I said that was a good relationship. She told me to wait here for a while while she went out to get it.
After she left, I left the door ajar, took off the wet clothes of the Lin family girl, and then put Liu Nan's clean dress on her. The two girls had similar figures, and it just fit her.
Seeing that her hair was messy, I tidied it up for her. Just then, Liu Zining pushed the door open with clothes in his arms. When he saw Lin Wenjing's appearance, he was so scared that he screamed and stood at the door with his hands covering his mouth.
