Volume 1 Chapter 1 Jon Green
The air quality in London in 1991 was really average.
Even though he has been in this world for almost a year, Jon is still not used to the slightly gray sky even on sunny days.
In this world, he is an orphan adopted by an orphanage.
But in fact, just like millions of stories, Jon, who looks like an ordinary 11-year-old boy, actually has a soul from the 21st century.
In his previous life, Jon was a worker who had just entered the workplace.
One day on his way to work, he witnessed an electric bike hit someone. The two young men, the one riding the bike and the one who was hit, who were about his age, both tragically fell into the river beside the road.
Jon, who was confident of his good swimming skills, did not stand idly by and watch, but took off his coat on the spot and prepared to jump into the water to rescue the man.
As a result, just as he hugged a young man who fell into the water and was about to swim to the shore, unfortunately, water plants entangled his ankles, and his calf cramped during the struggle. In the end, not only did he fail to save the young man, but he also got himself in trouble.
Fortunately, God did not close his eyes. When Jon, who had completely lost consciousness underwater, opened his eyes again, he had appeared in a British hospital. He had turned into a 9-year-old boy named Jon Green, who was abandoned by his parents and taken in by an orphanage.
The doctor diagnosed that he had suffered a severe blow to the head, causing a concussion.
When Jon woke up, he did not inherit any memory except for the language talent that had become the original owner's body instinct.
Fortunately, the symptom of concussion became the perfect excuse for his amnesia. After all, the human brain had not been fully studied even in the 20s of the 21st century, let alone now at the end of the 20th century.
After being taken back to the orphanage from the hospital, Jon basically understood the situation of this body he was reborn into.
The original owner had always been a silent, withdrawn, timid and inferior person in the orphanage. Apart from his outstanding appearance, he looked ordinary among all the other children. It was because of this that he became the lowest among these orphans.
During a spring outing, several boys took the opportunity to force the original owner to the edge of a slope.
Later, the original owner's head hit a protruding stone while rolling down, which led to Jon traveling through time and possessing the poor boy.
However, according to the kids, Jon was not forced to roll down by them. Instead, when they forced him, he suddenly flew up, bounced everyone else away, and then fell from the sky, and finally rolled down the slope and hit the rocks.
This is obviously a lie that only a child could tell. Adults certainly won't believe it and will just treat it as an excuse they make up to escape blame.
But Jon, who had just traveled through time and experienced unscientific events, became suspicious about this.
But later on, no matter what he tried, he couldn't find anything special on his body, so he completely gave up the fantasy that he was actually a person with super powers after traveling through time.
After all, no matter how you look at it, he actually just traveled from 2020 to 1991. Whether judging from history or the current situation, it is exactly the same world, just the timeline is different.
After understanding the situation clearly, Jon, who knew that time travel had become an established fact, took the attitude of making the best of it.
Anyway, although he was not an orphan in his previous life, his parents divorced when he was very young. Apart from giving birth to him, the couple never took care of him and instead formed new families.
Jon grew up with his grandmother, but after he was admitted to university, his only relative passed away. Since then, he has lived alone without any worries.
Since there is nothing to worry about, it doesn't matter where you live. What's more, he has returned to the 20th century. Even in the unfamiliar Britain, Jon has the advantage of foresight. He doesn't think that his life will be unhappy with such a good hand in his hand.
However, as a child now, it is very inconvenient for Jon to do anything outside, so he can only stay in the orphanage that adopted him for the time being.
Jon’s situation in the orphanage now is of course completely different from that of the original owner.
It wasn’t that he had done something, but after the incident during the spring outing, the other kids spread the word and regarded him as a freak, and the verbal and physical bullying turned into cold violence.
He actually wished for this. No matter from what perspective, he didn't want to have anything to do with this group of people who were only good at bullying at home and would mostly be troubles in the future when they entered the society.
Jon, sitting on the swing in the yard, was looking up at the .
There were a few children around who were slightly older than him. They all looked at him strangely, and then avoided him as far as possible as if they were avoiding the plague god.
Jon didn't care about their expressions because his attention was all drawn to one place at the moment.
At the entrance of the orphanage, Mrs. Chris, the director, was leading a young man in.
There is nothing special about this action. Although the orphanage where he works is not large, London citizens come here to volunteer every once in a while.
What really puzzled Jon was the young man's attire.
He was wearing a black robe with a snake emblem embroidered on his chest.
Such clothing does not look like what modern people should wear. Instead, it is very similar to the illustrations of medieval wizards in the folk legend storybook that Jon has read through in the orphanage.
The young man does not look very old, probably less than 30 years old.
He had a very fair complexion, as if he had rarely been exposed to the sun all year round. His light yellow hair was neatly groomed. He walked side by side with Mrs. Chris with a faint smile on his face all the time, and seemed to be someone who was easy to get along with.
As if noticing Jon's gaze, the young man in the black robe looked towards him.
The two looked into each other's eyes. Jon looked into those eyes and for some reason he seemed to feel a bone-chilling coldness from them, and his body couldn't help but shiver.
At this moment, Mrs. Chris said something to him, and the two of them walked up to Jon together.
"Jon Green?" the young man asked gently.
Jon was obviously caught off guard by this situation. The other party's attitude seemed as if he had come to find him specially.
"Yes, sir."
After hearing Jon's words, the young man did not introduce himself, but turned to Mrs. Chris and said.
"I need to talk to this child alone."
Mrs. Chris, contrary to her usual harsh and sarcastic attitude, did not hesitate or ask any more questions when faced with the young man's words, which sounded like an order. She turned around and gave them some private space.
There was no change in Jon's expression, but he could vaguely feel something was wrong.
Just as he was feeling uneasy, a yellowed parchment and a feather pen suddenly flew out of the young man's pocket, contrary to common sense of physics, and hovered in front of Jon!
"Congratulations, Mr. Jon Green. Because of your unique talent, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has opened its doors to you. Just sign your name on this admission letter, and you will become a young wizard who is about to enroll."
