Volume 1 2009 Chapter 7: The Fear Within
A dark forest path gradually appeared in his mind. It seemed to be evening, the sun was about to set, and the darkness of night began to climb up the sky. The dense woods on both sides of the road looked dark and a little creepy. He described what he saw to the professor.
"Are you scared?" the professor asked.
“I’m not scared, but I’m a little uneasy. I feel like there’s some unknown existence in the forest that I don’t want to explore.” Yi Haoyan replied.
The picture in my mind continued to change, and a lawn appeared at the end of the road, with a small house on the lawn.
"What kind of house?"
"It's a wooden cabin, a bit like a forest cabin in a fairy tale, with windows and a chimney."
"How do you feel?"
"There was no one in the house. It was filled with wooden furniture, a long wooden dining table, a wooden bed, and wooden armchairs. It felt a bit deserted. It was completely dark outside, and there was only a candle in the house that was about to go out. I felt very lonely."
"Well, anything else?"
"The candle went out and the room became dark. I could see the stars in the sky outside through the window and it felt cold. There was a mirror on the bedside table and I wanted to take a look."
In his mind, Yi Haoyan groped his way to the mirror in the dim room and looked inside.
The scene he saw shocked him! What appeared in the mirror was not his own face, but the head of an insect-like monster! There were dozens of red compound eyes on the oval black keratin, and the sharp mouthparts were covered with dense hairs!
In an instant, an uncontrollable tremor spread from the brain along the spine to the coccyx. All the nerves seemed to be pulled by a big hand. The heart beat like a drum, vibrating the entire chest! The muscles of the whole body were tightening, and cold sweat was coming out of all the pores. It was as if a big stone was pressing on the chest. The breathing became rapid in an instant, but no matter how much I inhaled, I couldn't suppress the fear of suffocation!
Sudden!
A large number of fist-sized spider-like unknown insects began to crawl out of the mirror! Yi Haoyan ran out immediately, and the insects that emerged from the mirror swallowed up the hut in a blink of an eye.
Running desperately on the path, the wind whistled past Yi Haoyan's ears. He didn't dare look back, as he could feel a huge insect emerging from the mirror behind him, chasing him relentlessly.
After hearing Yi Haoyan's description and seeing his breathing becoming rapid and his face becoming paler due to fear, Sun Enxi couldn't help but frown. She looked at Professor Jin, not knowing what to do.
Subconsciously, Yi Haoyan felt that he had shaken off the pursuing insects as he ran and rushed into an unknown space, like the vast space, with stars in the distance and a huge planet hanging in the center of the sky nearby, occupying most of Yi Haoyan's vision and giving him a clear sense of oppression.
"How do you feel when you see this ? Scared?" the professor continued.
"I'm not scared. The planet turned into a giant eye staring at me. It felt very weird."
"Okay, let's end our conversation here! Take a deep breath, rub your hands together to warm them up, put them on your eyes, then stretch and open your eyes." Professor Jin ended the conversation.
"Professor Jin, what do these things mean to Xiaoyan?" Wang Ruhui asked anxiously.
"Based on the images in his mind, he has a lot of fears in his heart, and the insects that appeared are a concrete representation of this. Yi Haoyan, you usually hate insects, right?"
"Yeah, I don't like insects."
"In addition, he is very lonely and depressed inside. He cannot see other people in his imagination, and most of the colors are dark. And in Yi Haoyan's subconscious mind, he cares a lot about what others think of him, and the huge eyes in his imagination show this." Professor Jin said with a smile.
"It's okay. We will have an intention dialogue every week from now on to release the repressed things in our subconscious mind. Slowly, things will get better. The effect of this intention dialogue was particularly good. The fear in my heart was released. This is a good sign."
"Thank you, Professor Jin. I will bring Haoyan here every week in the future." Sun Enxi bowed to the professor to express her gratitude.
"You're welcome. In addition to taking medicine on time, you should go to crowded places more often, maintain contact with society , increase physical exercise appropriately, and it would be even better if you have personal hobbies. Don't let yourself be idle. These are all good for recovery from depression." Professor Jin said.
"Okay, I'll pay attention to these, thank you professor."
After saying goodbye to the professor, my aunt went straight to the company, and Sun Enxi drove Yi Haoyan home.
"How do you feel?" Sun Enxi asked Yi Haoyan with concern.
"It's okay. I didn't expect to see something scary in my intention."
"It will get better. The professor said that I should go to more crowded places, keep in touch with society, and do more physical exercise. I should live a more fulfilling life. Do you have any hobbies?"
"Well, in terms of sports, basketball is one of them. I like pop music and reading. Recently, I have also become interested in photography. Of course, what I like most is to think about things. Pursuing the essence of a thing is my greatest hobby."
After listening to this, Sun Enxi smiled and said, "Take a break recently, stop thinking, and let your brain rest. Korean pop music is very developed. You have heard of 'Korean Wave'! Sister, my current job is also considered half of the entertainment industry. Anyway, it's summer vacation now, and you don't have anything to do, why don't you come to my company for an internship?"
Yi Haoyan looked bewildered: "What are you going to do?"
"My company is an advertising company, so there are plenty of photo opportunities. And since you like photography, let's go together!"
Yi Haoyan didn't comment, as he was just sitting around anyway.
