As for those Bamboo Grove Sages who stubbornly resisted to the end, "they personally exterminated over 460 of those who had violated the ban and buried them all buried alive in Xianyang, so that the world would know about it and serve as a warning to future generations."
This is the famous "burning of books and burying of scholars" in Chinese history.
Some Chinese alchemists who were unwilling to submit to the emperor's tyranny were forced to flee. Among them, a group went west and west, and finally arrived at the ruling area of the ancient Roman Empire along the ancient Silk Road.
The descendants of these alchemists naturally joined forces with their counterparts along the Mediterranean coast, and thus the Gnostic sect emerged around BC.
"Gnosticism" comes from the Greek word gnostikos, which means knower, referring to a person who possesses gnose or "secret knowledge". It is also called "Gnosticism" and "Theosophy".
This is a general term for the many mystical sects that were popular throughout the eastern Mediterranean during the Roman Empire.
As the name suggests, this sect believes that matter and the flesh are evil, and only by understanding the mysterious "Gnosticism" can the soul be saved. People who master this knowledge are called "Gnosticism".”.
From this perspective, the mysticism proposed by Gnosticism is very similar to the Taoist ideas.
This kind of mysticism advocates the extinction of human consciousness and the pursuit of knowledge bestowed upon humans by heaven or nature, and claims that only those who possess the mysterious truth can be truly saved.
If we translate the Greek word "knowledge" into Chinese "Tao" and "true knower" into "true person", we will find that Gnosticism and Taoism are exactly the same.
The gods worshipped by the Gnostics were also very strange. Unlike the "human gods" of ancient Greece and Rome, and unlike the irritable Jehovah of the Jews, the Gnostic God was an other and an unknown being that was completely unrelated to the secular world.
This hidden God is a nihilistic concept: from him no norms flow, no laws for nature and for human behavior as part of the natural order.
The saying "Heaven and earth are unkind and treat all things as straw dogs" is the best footnote to the Gnostic gods.
In addition, some Gnostic sects believed that the flesh was evil and the spirit was good, and thus advocated indulgence in physical promiscuity, allowing people to have sexual relations with priestesses in temples.
This is similar to the Huangchi technique of Chinese alchemists.
The above content can show that the similarities between the two are too great to be explained by simple coincidence.
The earliest core Gnostic sects existed even earlier than the formation of Christianity and flourished in the 2nd and 3rd centuries.
During its heyday, some Christians were influenced by Gnosticism, but their doctrine of "pursuing true knowledge" was incompatible with the orthodox Christianity of "justification by faith", so they were denounced as "heretics".
This group of "Christians" created the famous "Gospel of Judas." The Gospel of Judas subverts the New Testament, claiming that Judas was actually Jesus' closest friend and most loyal disciple, and that his betrayal of Jesus was entirely at Jesus's behest, handing Jesus over to the authorities in order to fulfill God's plan of salvation.
The Gospel of Judas challenges the perspective and moral values of traditional Christians and is considered the "devil's defense book" by orthodox sects.

Secondly, he himself claimed that the SCP Foundation was a mysterious organization hidden behind the scenes of history, and even cooperated with secular governments and various religious sects to achieve its own goals, including the Roman Catholic Inquisition.

In 1930, Jung first used the term "synchronicity" to describe supernatural phenomena such as divination and prophecy.
