The Real Hogwarts Chapter 96 It's Difficult
Jon retreated back into the principal's office.
His brain is working quickly and calmly now.
The basilisk was obviously the first line of defense against the principal's office. If he was right, the four relics on the table were the second, and the three portraits in the room in the tower were the last.
Portraits in the magic world are alive, and the portrait of the same person can instantly travel back and forth between his own portraits at any location, without being restricted or limited by any magic.
There is a high probability that those three portraits are related to Voldemort. This last line of defense may seem to be just three paintings, but in fact it represents Voldemort himself!
If he had not used the telescopic eyes that Aberforth had prepared for him, and had just pushed the door open and walked in, the next moment, the most powerful person in the wizarding world would probably appear in front of him, and would not even give Jon the chance to pick up his book and pen and run away.
Facing Voldemort, even with Dumbledore around, the situation was unsolvable.
But John's current situation is far from unsolvable. After all, the three paintings have not received any alerts yet, which means that Voldemort does not know that his headmaster's office has been broken into.
This means that Jon still has time to plan.
If Voldemort came in person it would of course be a dead end, but what if there was a way to prevent the three paintings from being connected to Voldemort?
Jon was thinking in his mind, but his hands did not stop moving. He waved his wand to clean up the messy hallway and the smelly blood of the basilisk that died in the principal's office.
The presence of a basilisk guarding here means that Voldemort has forbidden anyone in the castle to enter his headmaster's office. Although the basilisk has its own consciousness and can choose who to kill or not, the magic on its eyes will be triggered as long as it looks. Unless it is a Parseltongue speaker, it will use its eyes to see any movement at the door. No matter who comes in, even Snape, the deputy headmaster, will die immediately the moment they look into its eyes.
As long as he cleaned up the strong smell of blood, no one would know that the basilisk guarding here had been killed by a mudblood student, unless Voldemort came to attend the opening dinner at the beginning of next year.
Just after Jon cleaned up the hallway and wiped away all the blood from the basilisk, the sound of a door opening suddenly sounded behind him!
Jon's body froze instantly!
The moment he heard the voice, his hand slipped into his sleeve and grasped a bright red feather. Then he suddenly turned to look at the person who opened the door of the principal's office.
Hermione stood outside the door blankly, looking at the huge dead venomous snake beside Jon. Jon was also looking at the girl who was panting and obviously ran all the way here.
This is a difficult situation.
He frowned and slowly relaxed his clenched palms. When he was about to speak, Hermione reacted first and spoke in an extremely hurried tone.
"Dolohov is back early, and he's looking for you now!"
Jon reacted quickly, he knew very well that if what Hermione said was true and he didn't handle the situation well , he would have to face even more difficult things.
He quickly patted his dirty robes and did not use the cleaning spell directly, because if they were too clean, it would arouse more suspicion.
He patted his robe and walked quickly out of the principal's office, then turned around and closed the door tightly.
"How long did it take you to come up here to find me?"
He put away his wand, took out his invisibility cloak, and asked quickly.
Hermione replied just as quickly.
"Three minutes. I went to the storage room on the first floor first. I didn't find you there, so I came here. The stairs helped me. They saved me a lot of walking."
"Did anyone see you coming up from underground?"
"No, I walked up the stairs around the corner in front of the dormitory door. They all thought I was going to your dormitory to look for you. I made an excuse for you, saying that you had an upset stomach from eating rotten cookies."
The two of them now tacitly agreed not to ask each other why they were here. As long as they could resolve the current crisis, there would be plenty of time to ask such questions in the future.
Jon directly covered them with the invisibility cloak. The cloak was big enough. The two men were only 12 years old and small in stature, so it was more than enough to cover three people.
They just ran to the stairs together. Those stairs looked very familiar to her just as Hermione said. They automatically led them down and quickly reached the first floor from the eighth floor.
During this time, Jon took out the Marauder's Map. He couldn't stare at the map all the time in the principal's office, but the map had been opened before he killed the basilisk, so he could check it at any time.
At this time on the map, Dolokhov's name was clearly located in the basement.
Hermione did not lie. At this time, the administrator had not noticed anything wrong and was still waiting there.
After making sure there was still room to hide, Jon quickly put away the Marauder's Map, then grabbed Hermione's arm and ran from the first floor towards the basement stairs.
When he was near the basement, he put away his invisibility cloak. Then, without steadying his breathing, he and Hermione pushed open the basement door with rapid breathing.
Dolohov stared at the two of them as they walked in, and when his eyes fell on Jon's pale face, which had been knocked against the wall by the basilisk, a sneer appeared on his face.
"I ate something expired and felt sick... I spent a long time squatting in the bathroom?"
Jon lowered his head "timidly" and spoke in a low voice.
"Sorry, sir, I shouldn't have kept the cookies secret for so long."
"It's not your fault Smith, Mudbloods should not waste food like this. But I hate waiting for people, especially for a Mudblood."
He stared at Jon with a "fearful" look on his face, as if he would whip him at the next moment, but then he suddenly laughed.
"But you're lucky today. I'm in a good mood, and you usually behave well, so I can not beat you. But for the rest of the holiday, you have to clean the bathrooms in the entire castle."
Only after hearing what he said did Jon breathe a sigh of relief.
He managed to get through this stage.
"Yes, yes, sir."
Afterwards, he and Hermione returned to the group of Mudblood students. Dolohov didn't know what happy things had happened to him today. He was really happy. He even called a house-elf and asked the kitchen to prepare a small cream cake for each Mudblood student to add a dessert to the Christmas night.
