The Real Hogwarts Chapter 90 Preparation

The temperature in Hogwarts was getting colder and colder, but the professors in the castle all looked unhappy recently.
The library had been closed to all students for two weeks. During this period, Barty Jr. had frequently been in and out of it, sometimes bringing with him several experts from the Department of Mysteries of the Ministry of Magic who were responsible for dealing with special matters.
But it seems that they haven't made much progress in investigating the "disappearance" of the banned book. Little Barty hasn't shown the smile that he usually has on his face for many days. Even the pure-blood students dare not breathe in front of him.
However, these things that happened in the castle, whether good or bad, had nothing to do with the Mudblood students. No one would guess that the problem with the forbidden books would be related to the Mudblood students. After all, these people were not even qualified to go to the forbidden book area, let alone get close to the library.
According to John's estimation, the matter of banned books was already a big deal. If the professors in the castle could not find out the reason, Voldemort would most likely come to the school and go to the library in person to check the situation.
But from beginning to end, Voldemort never returned to Hogwarts Castle. He seemed to have been busy with other important things. Even when such a big thing happened, he had no intention of coming to the school to investigate in person.
After three weeks of investigation without any results, Barty Jr. and Snape left the school for a few days. When they came back, both of them looked pale. No one asked them what they had done during those days. But after they came back, they withdrew all the investigations on the library, and then moved the few remaining banned books that had not been destroyed away from Hogwarts Castle.
The accident in the castle did not have any impact on John. When the school faculty and staff began to investigate the library, he cautiously suspended his spell practice for three days. Later, after using the Marauder's Map to observe at night and seeing that no one was leaving the castle after midnight, he continued with his original schedule.
The whole month of November passed in a relatively peaceful manner.
During this period, Hermione organized another rally. After living a miserable life for too long, these Mudblood students would become numb. Hermione could only try her best to remind them that they still had human dignity. Otherwise, even the most principled people would become accustomed to being trampled on for so long. This was why Voldemort chose to exploit and abuse these children from the time they entered school at the age of 11.
During this period, Jon went to the Hog's Head Inn twice through the secret passage. Not only did he learn all the spells that might be used from Aberforth, he also discussed the plans for Christmas Day with him.
Aberforth was very surprised at the progress Jon made in learning spells. He knew very well that given the living environment of the Mudblood students in Hogwarts Castle, Jon normally could hardly find time to practice spells in private. The spells he taught Jon were not too advanced, but practice makes perfect. According to Aberforth's initial estimate, if he could learn two or three by December, it would be considered a gifted talent for Jon.
But up to now, he has taught Jon a total of eight or nine spells, including several transfiguration spells, and Jon can basically use them smoothly.
Although his proficiency was still obviously a little rusty, this was far beyond Aberforth's expectations.
A normal second-year student would only have to learn so many spells in a school year, but Jon had only studied with him on and off for less than two months. Even if he had been able to practice during this period, his practice time would have been greatly limited, and he could only use them to this extent.
This made him feel complicated and reminded him of his brother Albus Dumbledore when he was a child.
When Dumbledore was in his second year, he was just like Jon now, learning any new spell with ease. What's even more exaggerated is that at the age of 12, he could already perform high-end Transfiguration that turned dead objects into living ones.
Learning magic does depend on talent, and Jon is obviously also an extremely talented student.
"As for the rooster, I have already chosen the target. You can come to my place one last time on the day before Christmas and take the rooster away."
It was very windy tonight, and the whistling sound of the wind could be heard outside from inside the Hog's Head Inn. Aberforth brought Jon a cup of hot cocoa so that he could warm himself in such weather.
"It's probably going to snow in two days." Jon looked at the weather outside the window and said while holding a cup of hot cocoa, "The Dark Lord won't show up at the castle party on Christmas Day, right?"
Aberforth nodded affirmatively.
"His most important identity now is not just the headmaster of Hogwarts. Most of the forces in the entire wizarding world depend on him. On an important day like Christmas, he will hold a grand banquet to entertain his subordinates. I heard that he will also make a summary of the development of the wizarding world in the past year at this banquet. In other words, there will be few professors left in the castle at that time. All his core subordinates will attend the banquet outside the castle."
Jon asked, thinking.
"So, in fact, there are very few students and faculty members staying in school every Christmas?"
"Very few. Basically, there will be only a dozen people attending the castle dinner. Almost all the half-blood and pure-blood students have their own families. They all go home on Christmas Day. The faculty and staff who stay are all those who have not started a family and are marginalized by the Dark Lord's power. So Christmas Eve is indeed your best chance."
"I have another question."
As Christmas is getting closer, Jon must anticipate all possible accidents and situations before taking action.
"If I succeed in killing the basilisk in the end, will the Dark Lord be able to sense it immediately?"
Aberforth frowned and thought seriously for a long time, then shook his head and said.
"No, there is no such magic in the magic world. Connecting human perception with the state of magical animals involves a part of the magic blind spot. The Dark Lord is strong in the destructive power of black magic and strange curses. He can't do such a thing."
In fact, John felt that no matter how much Voldemort changed, it would be unlikely for him to do so.
After all, in the original book, even if his own Horcrux was destroyed, he himself did not even feel anything, not to mention that the connection between him and the basilisk was definitely not at the level of a Horcrux.
