The Real Hogwarts Chapter 77 Administrator's Office
After the afternoon class, Hermione and the others went to get the tools they would need to clean the bathroom, but Jon found an excuse not to go with them.
He walked out of the classroom alone, then went into the bathroom reserved for mudbloods, and put on the invisibility cloak.
It was already evening, but it wasn't completely dark yet. In such an environment, Jon only had to walk close to the wall and be careful so that he wouldn't be easily discovered by other students.
After putting on the invisibility cloak, he also cast a levitation spell on his body, which would make his subsequent movements lighter and faster.
Walking up a staircase that Mudbloods were not allowed to step on under normal circumstances, he met many half-blood and pure-blood students who had just finished classes and were heading downstairs to the auditorium to prepare for dinner.
They chatted and laughed, just like normal students living in an ordinary school , passing by Jon, but they did not notice that a mudblood who should not be here was swimming upstream.
Jon moved quickly, counting the floors in his mind, and in less than half a minute he reached the fifth floor from the first floor. The place had become empty, and most of the students had left for the auditorium.
Just as Jon arrived on the fifth floor, Dolohov happened to walk out of his office. He turned over, closed the door of his office, then walked past Jon and went downstairs.
This was certainly not a coincidence. In the three weeks since he came to the castle, Jon had been observing Dolohov's behavior habits every day, and he had basically figured out the castle manager's schedule.
Some professors would have their dinner delivered directly to their offices by house-elves, but Dolohov preferred to go to the Great Hall. He seemed to enjoy the feeling of students bowing to him and calling him "Mr. Dolohov" when they saw him.
So he had his three meals a day in the auditorium like normal students. That is to say, after dinner, there would be a window of about half an hour in his office, and this was the opportunity that Jon had been eyeing for a week.
Watching Dolohov walk down the stairs with his own eyes, Jon quickly walked to the door of his office.
The door was not locked because there was no foolish student in the castle who dared to sneak into the office of this perverted administrator.
Jon carefully opened the door and then closed it again.
After entering the door, he first took a quick look at the office environment.
It was very dark here. The orange-red sun outside the window had already half set, and only a ray of sunset shone in, falling on the dark ground.
There were four or five cold chains and shackles hanging from the ceiling, making this room look more like an interrogation room than an office.
There were no portraits of anyone hanging on the surrounding walls, which was the best news for Jon.
Portraits in the magical world are generally alive, and the characters in them have their own consciousness and can communicate with people. If there is also a portrait hanging in Dolohov's office, then although John will not be discovered wearing an invisibility cloak, the purpose of coming to this office will not be achieved, and it will also expose the fact that someone has broken into Dolohov's office.
The various parchments on the desk were placed in a messy manner. It seemed that the administrator was not very diligent in tidying up his room. Jon did not look at the things on the desk, but walked directly to the wooden cabinet by the wall.
The items here are basically all contraband that Dolohov collected from half-blood and pure-blood students. He cannot use force against students other than Mudbloods, even if they are half-bloods. The most he can do is confiscate the tools used in the crime and punish them by putting them in solitary confinement.
Jon began to rummage through the wooden cabinet. Even at this time, he did not take off his invisibility cloak, and his movements were very gentle when he searched for things. Once he was sure that it was not what he wanted, he would put them back in place.
The wooden cabinets were not very big, and there weren't many things stored in them. They were basically all prank props, the kind that could be bought at the Magic Joke Shop in Diagon Alley. It took Jon about ten minutes to search through both wooden cabinets, but he still didn't find what he was looking for.
Looking at the administrator's office in front of him, he frowned slightly.
Come to think of it, maybe he was going in the wrong direction.
The thing he was going to find was confiscated from James and his friends by the former caretaker Filch before the fall of Hogwarts Castle. Now the castle has a new owner, and the caretaker has become an extreme purist wizard. Would he still keep the things left behind by his predecessor, the rebellious Filch?
Just as Jon was thinking, a conversation suddenly came from outside the office door, approaching from far away.
"Is it really okay for us to steal things from Dolokhov like this?" The voice sounded a little silly and the tone was relatively rough.
The voice that answered him sounded familiar to Jon. He had met this boy before in Diagon Alley.
"What are you afraid of? He only loves his shackles and never checks whether the contraband he collected is missing. We won't be discovered. Besides, even if we are discovered, what can we do? My father is the office director of the Auror Command, and your fathers also work in the Ministry of Magic. At most, he will put us in solitary confinement for a few days, and he won't do anything to us."
The conversation outside the door was still going on. Jon had already folded up his invisibility cloak and hid under the desk.
The door of Dolohov's office was opened again by three students from the outside, and in came Draco Malfoy and his two followers Crabbe and Goyle.
They were far less cautious than Jon and just poked their heads into the office, as if they wanted to steal the contraband that Dolokhov taken away.
"Go find the cabinet over there, Goyle. Be careful with your movements and don't mess things up."
Jon was just under the desk and watched the three of them come to the wooden cabinet and start rummaging around. However, they were obviously much luckier than Jon and quickly found what they wanted.
The thing was found by Crabbe. It was a blue ball about the size of a ping-pong ball.
Draco grabbed the ball and an excited expression appeared on his face.
"I brought this to school from home without telling my father. Luckily, Dolohov didn't throw it into the room on the first floor like he did with the other half-bloods' stuff. I don't want to go to the first floor to look for things and run into the mudbloods!"
