The Real Hogwarts Chapter 75: Every Request Will Be Granted
The Hogwarts Castle, which is bustling during the day, becomes silent after night falls.
Jon walked up the stairs, which were no longer as lively and quiet as they were during the day, and reached the eighth floor.
This floor is a restricted area not only for Mudblood students, but also for other half-blood and pure-blood students.
Because the current owner of Hogwarts Castle, Voldemort's headmaster's office is here. Although he basically only comes to Hogwarts Castle once a school year on the first day of school, his authority in the school has not diminished at all.
In addition, with the explicit prohibition from Vice-Principal Snape and Castle Warden Dolohov, no student ever thought of going near the principal's office.
After arriving on the eighth floor, Jon did not go directly to the principal's office, even though his lurking target was most likely in this office.
He came to the blank wall opposite the tapestry of "Troll Beating Barnabas" with a clear goal, and wandered back and forth three times in his invisibility cloak.
"I need a room that only Jon Green can open to make potions."
He repeated this sentence silently in his mind, and before he knew it, an ordinary-looking door appeared on the blank wall.
Jon focused his attention on the door and did not open it rashly. Instead, he stood there and took a deep breath. At the same time, he reached his left hand into his sleeve and touched the Fox feather that had been hidden under his sleeve.
Opening the Room of Requirement was a gamble for him.
This room was not discovered by Harry Potter until later in the original book, but was actually found by Voldemort as early as when he was a student. Later, he hid the Ravenclaw Diadem, which was made into a Horcrux, in it.
John didn't know whether Voldemort's Horcrux was still there , and if so, whether it was still stored in the Room of Requirement, but it was certain that Voldemort knew about the existence of this secret room.
Since he knew about this, he might have made some arrangements here, so opening the Room of Requirement was a very risky .
But he had to take the risk, because there was no other place in Hogwarts Castle where he could prepare the Polyjuice Potion, a potion that took nearly a month to make without being discovered.
In the original book, the place where Hermione made the Polyjuice Potion was in the girls' bathroom where Myrtle often stayed. Because of Myrtle, few people went into that bathroom. But now there is not a single ghost to be found in the entire castle. Myrtle is naturally gone, and the girls' bathroom is certainly not abandoned.
If he couldn't make the Polyjuice Potion, the subsequent infiltration would be a joke.
Jon adjusted himself to the best condition, then stretched out his right hand hidden under the invisibility cloak and placed it on the door handle. He increased the force a little, and then the door was easily opened from the outside.
Behind the door was an empty room with a crucible in the middle of the room. Next to the crucible was a set of brand new tables and chairs, on which were placed a stack of blank parchment, a quill and ink. There were also wooden shelves against the wall for storing materials and finished potions.
This is a room that belongs to Jon alone. Unless someone in the castle knows the name "Jon Green", no one will be able to find it.
Even after entering the room, he did not take off the invisibility cloak, but stayed inside for another ten minutes before Jon was somewhat sure that Voldemort did not seem to have made any arrangements in the room.
Come to think of it, if he really had the ability to monitor the Room of Requirement at all times, he should have set up such surveillance when the Horcruxes were stored in it, and he would not have let Harry enter and take the crown so easily in the original book.
After making sure it was safe, John quickly poured out all the potion ingredients in the bag. He lit the crucible and put dozens of lacewings into it.
The most time-consuming part of the compound decoction is the preparation of lacewings. It needs to be boiled for 21 days to reach the level of medicine. Moreover, this thing cannot be stored for use at any time after boiling. It must be used on the same day after 21 days, otherwise it will become a pile of waste.
Fortunately, Jon doesn't need to be here all the time during the process of cooking the insects. He just needs to take a look every once in a while to make sure there are no problems.
The boiling cauldron was bubbling, and Jon left the Room of Requirement, leaving all the potion ingredients here.
Since Voldemort had not tampered with the room, he could be sure of some other things.
He continued to pace back and forth in front of the wall, mentally requesting a room to hide his things.
Then a door exactly the same as the previous one appeared in front of him. Jon pushed the door open and walked in, coming to a space that was big enough for a small square.
There were all kinds of discarded debris piled here, including crippled desks and chairs, broomsticks broken in two, broken statues, and portraits with broken frames .
Jon searched carefully among the various piles of debris. According to his memory, he searched for about 20 to 30 minutes before he found the wooden cabinet with blistered surface. On top of the cabinet sat a statue of a wizard with pockmarks all over his body and a wig on his head.
But these were all there were around. Jon didn't find anything that looked like a ring, let alone a crown.
The Horcrux has been taken by Voldemort.
Although this trip did not bring any actual gains to Jon, it did confirm a guess in his mind.
The reason why Voldemort has changed now is most likely related to his Horcruxes. Since the multiple divisions of his soul have made him more and more crazy and lose his mind, if he gets his soul back, he will inevitably become the "Tom Riddle" he once was.
Jon did not stay in the Room of Requirement any longer. He left the room and watched the door slowly disappear into the wall in front of him.
There was still a lot of time left in the night, and he actually had a lot of plans to fulfill, such as going to the library in the castle, or to the office of the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, or... to take a look at the principal's office which was less than twenty steps in front of him.
John, shrouded in the invisibility cloak, stared at the door of the principal's office. After hesitating for half a minute, he took a step forward.
Of course he wouldn't do something as rash as going in directly, but he had to find out what was going on in this office sooner or later, so why not tonight?
