The Real Hogwarts Chapter 67 School Starts
The girl's facial features were delicate, but they were covered with dust, and her messy hair made her look like a wild girl begging on the street.
After being sent to this room, the girl sat on the ground silently like other students, without any contact with anyone else.
Gradually, the number of students in this basement increased, even exceeding the total number of students Jon had seen in the carriage. There were about seventy or eighty children gathered here. Each of them was dirty, wearing tattered linen robes, thin, with yellow faces, and looked malnourished.
Just as the time was approaching seven o'clock, the door that had been tightly closed was suddenly pushed open from the outside.
A burly wizard with a long, twisted face walked in.
When they saw the wizard, most of the students sitting here shuddered . They were obviously afraid and terrified of the man who came in.
Jon looked coldly at the wizard in the corner. He held handcuffs in one hand and a whip in the other. As he entered the door, an excited grin appeared on his face.
There were two house-elves in charge of taking the "Mudbloods" back to the castle. When they saw the wizard coming in, they immediately handed him the parchment respectfully. It was the "Holiday Practice" assessment score sheet for all the students present.
The two house-elves addressed the wizard as "Mr. Dolohov".
Before coming, Dumbledore provided John with all the information about the teachers in Hogwarts Castle that the Order of the Phoenix currently had.
The full name of this "Mr. Dolohov" should be "Antonin Dolohov". He is the current warden of Hogwarts Castle, a former loyal lackey of Voldemort, and also an extreme purist.
He was keen on using whips and shackles to punish students who made mistakes, whether they were mudbloods or half-bloods, and simply turned a blind eye to any behavior of pure-blood students in the castle.
Taking the form from the elf, Dolohov waved his hand, and the two house-elves bowed and disappeared from the room.
"Very good. After two months, we meet again, kids. I missed you so much after being apart for so long."
He spoke kind words in a cold voice, making the students in the room feel no warmth at all. The younger children subconsciously shrank into the corner.
…
The lights in the Hogwarts Great Hall were on as the pure-blood and half-blood students, who had been away from school for two full months, returned to the castle.
The auditorium was beautifully decorated, with hundreds of candlesticks carrying lighted candles floating in the air, and the ceiling was a gorgeous starry sky. It was not a glass, but a magic ceiling that could directly display the starry sky outside the castle.
There were a total of four long tables below, one of which was placed closer to the platform with a clear distinction from the other three, while the other three long tables were placed flush in the center of the auditorium.
The students sitting at the long table near the platform wore more exquisite school robes, with a circle of gold embroidered on the cuffs and collars. There was also a tattoo of a dark green snake coiled around an H emblem on their chests.
Draco Malfoy was sitting among them. He glanced with disdain at the mixed-race freshmen who were being led into the hall by a professor and were excitedly sitting at the other three long tables.
"After all, they are just a bunch of ignorant mixed-blood bastards."
He sneered and whispered to the two burly boys beside him.
Goyle and Crabbe also laughed as if they had heard some funny joke.
Crabbe pointed to a handsome boy with a gentle expression sitting at one of the three long tables below.
"I heard that the man is highly appreciated by Professor Snape. His name seems to be... Diggory?"
Malfoy saw the boy he was pointing at and said with disdain.
"Cedric Diggory, his father is an employee of the Ministry of Magic, but no matter how talented a half-blood is, what can he do? Snape can only take care of his own kind."
He spoke the last sentence in a very low voice, and as he spoke, his eyes unconsciously looked towards the long table filled with Hogwarts teachers.
He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that the man, who was covered in a black robe and looked like a big bat, was not paying attention to them.
At the three long tables below, students from the Mixed-Blood Academy were welcoming the freshmen. Seamus and Dean, who had already entered their second year, were enthusiastically introducing the proceedings of tonight's welcome party to the freshmen.
"The headmaster will be here soon. This is the only time he comes to Hogwarts Castle in a school year. However, when we entered school last year, he did not give a long speech. He just welcomed the new students and then announced the start of the dinner. The food here is great. I strongly recommend that you try the roasted pork knuckle. The taste is really intoxicating."
"The students at that long table alone? Don't bother with them. They have privileges wherever they are, but don't mess with any of them. The professors won't be on our side. Other than that, Hogwarts is great everywhere. It's a great school!"
…
Soon, the door in the room was opened from the outside again.
This time, the person who came in was someone Jon was familiar with - Barty Crouch Jr. He still had that faint smile on his face, and walked in with a few boys and girls.
"These are the new students this year. Remember to take good care of them, Dolohov."
"Of course I will, Professor Crouch."
Dolohov replied with a smile. He sent little Barty out and then brought the freshmen into the room. One of them was a child who looked confused at what was happening.
"Are you a professor too? Sir, why don't we go to the big room in the castle with the others? And Professor Crouch said he would prepare wands for us..."
"Snapped!"
Before he could finish asking his question, the thick and long whip hit him!
The boy's whole face was distorted by pain and he burst into tears the next second, not understanding what he had done wrong.
Dolokhov ignored him and urged the other frightened freshmen to find an open space to sit down.
"We still have a lot of time, kids. Don't be afraid if you don't know the rules . Your seniors will show you what the rules are for Mudbloods in this castle!"
His eyes fell on the report card in his hand , as if he saw something that satisfied him. The curve at the corner of his mouth became bigger and bigger, and he shouted a name loudly.
"Tyler Stebbins!"
