First Film Chapter 22: The Man Without a Shadow

The images in the mirror seemed unable to hear Ke Xun's voice, and they were still doing their own things.
"We should try our best not to let our shadows come into contact with these people." Zhu Haowen was a little alert and subconsciously moved away from the gloomy Zhang Tianwei according to the angle in the mirror.
Ke Xun looked at Ye Ningchen who was about to pull up his sleeves: "These people should not harm us. Even if some of them have malicious intentions, they can probably only play the role of shadows at night."
Ke Xun just watched his reflection in the mirror being "disturbed" by Ye Ningchenyi. The girl seemed to want to pull him up, but there seemed to be a layer between his shadow and her, which made it impossible for Ye Ningchenyi to touch him directly no matter what.
This reminded Ke Xun of words like separation between heaven and earth.
Ke Xun tried raising his arm and greeting Ye Ningchen with his reflection in the mirror. It seemed to work. Ye Ningchen stared at Ke Xun in the mirror and smiled.
Ke Xun mouthed, "Miao Zipei."
Ye Ningchen felt a little confused and sad. He shook his head gently and turned his gaze away.
"No, I feel uncomfortable staying here," Wei Dong slapped his head, "I feel nauseous and want to vomit, as if my body is going to be torn apart."
The others didn't feel well either and were all trying hard to hold on.
Mu Yiran remained silent. He had already entered the entire mirror room, scanning each mirror with sharp eyes: "These people in the mirror can't hurt us. Don't be affected by them, and try not to look closely at your own shadow."
After hearing what Mu Yiran said, Wei Dong seemed to feel better. The discomfort he felt just now was not a physical feeling, but was caused by psychological problems. In a mirror house like this with images everywhere, the first thing to overcome is the psychological problem.
The people in the mirror probably felt bored as well, and they all used their own colors to entertain themselves. He Yu had already painted a large landscape painting with red paint; Mi Wei made the yellow paint look like golden sand and started making sand paintings; Guo Lixia didn't know how to paint, so she dipped her palms in blue paint and left many royal blue handprints on the mirror.
"Have you noticed that the inside of the mirror is actually layered? It's not a unified world." Zhu Haowen touched his chin and looked at the mirror carefully.
Indeed, those colors seem to exist in another level or dimension, and are not affected by the refraction of the mirror. They are simply a domain based on color.
Deep purple, bright yellow, warm red, soft green, refreshing blue, these colors flow in various postures, interweaving into a new world.
"Look over there!" Wei Dong used his advantage as an artist to quickly find the bug in the color and pointed to a corner of the ceiling. "There seem to be two black spots there!"
Everyone focused their attention on the two black spots on the mirror in the corner of the wall. As everyone slowly got closer, they discovered that the so-called black spots were actually two letters, written in very casual handwriting. Both letters tilted towards the lower right corner, forming a strange sense of art: RR.
"Is this Rongrang's initials?" everyone guessed.
Ke Xun had already lifted Wei Dong up. Wei Dong raised his hand and touched the black signature on the ceiling. Wherever his fingers touched, it was like digging into water waves. The two black letters turned into faint ink marks and spread out.
When Wei Dong's fingers left, the ink marks slowly gathered together again and finally merged into the previous two letters.
Mu Yiran frowned: "Is this... the shadow of a signature?"
“Shadow? Signature with shadow?” Wei Dong couldn’t stand the unreal and unreal feeling in this painting.
“Everything has a shadow, especially in this world that places great emphasis on shadows, so a painter’s signature should have a shadow even more.”
Zhu Haowen looked at the window: "I think we should go to the maze immediately."
The five old members left through the window one after another tacitly. Although Ke Xun was confused at this time and didn't understand why they had to go to the maze, another ignorant follower was Wei Dong, who followed Ke Xun out of the window at this time.
No one noticed that a part of the golden color in the mirror in the room had been wiped off, revealing a face inside - it was Miao Zipei. He seemed to be trying to mix the purest color, with a solemn and pious expression on his face.
The five members climbed up the castle wall to the ground and walked non-stop towards the maze.
When passing by the pool, Ke Xun stopped and looked inside. All the coins with the wheel-shaped pattern on them had disappeared.
Everyone guessed the result from Ke Xun's expression, and their hearts were heavy, yet more urgent: tonight the black shadow had gathered the three primary colors of red, yellow, and blue, and its ability would probably have a qualitative leap.
"I have a solution. Although it is against the rules to walk through a maze, it is the only option at the moment." Ke Xun showed a slightly rogue expression.
Seeing Mu Yiran also looking over, Ke Xun continued, "We don't have to grope our way through the alleys in the dark. Instead, we have to climb walls and run like Night Walker."
"What you mean is that we walk on these bush walls, so that we can see the situation in the maze clearly." Mu Yiran looked at the bush walls of the maze and thought that this method would work.
Ke Xun had deftly climbed to the top of the bush wall. The bushes were very strong and could fully bear the weight of an adult man. Ke Xun made a gesture to look into the distance: "The view is good. At least three loops can be seen clearly."
Several other people also climbed to the top of the bush wall one after another. Except for Weidong who was a little afraid of heights, the others were relatively adaptable.
"Now tell me, why did you lock the signature in the maze?" Ke Xun has a good sense of balance and he can stand on the top of the high wall as if he were walking on flat ground.
"While you were working, we made a new discovery in the maze," Qin Ci answered Ke Xun, "We found the person hiding in the maze. He was very fast, so we were unable to surround him. But there was something special about him - he had no shadow."
This discovery was beyond Ke Xun's expectation: "What does that person look like?"
"There were some colorful patterns on his clothes, but he ran too fast to see them clearly. But we can all be sure that he had no shadow."
Ke Xun felt that he was getting closer to the truth: "In other words, this person without a shadow is the real entity of the black shadow?!"
Everyone agreed and began to walk slowly along the wall, observing the situation in each maze loop left and right.
Wei Dong walked the slowest, fearing that he would accidentally fall if he took a wrong step. "It seems that the cerebellum will hinder the functioning of the brain. Now I am just trying to walk on the tightrope... What did you say just now? That person lives in a maze? His shadow lives in the castle? Can he be separated from his shadow?!"
Mu Yiran saw Wei Dong walking leisurely, so he reached out and pulled him up: "That mirror house is definitely not groundless, it should be the place where the shadow and his entity meet."
This was the first time Wei Dong had "contacted" Mu Yiran. He suddenly felt that the other party was not so aloof, and even had a rare sense of intimacy: "Thanks... Then according to what you said, the signature is the same. The shadow is in the mirror house, and the real signature is in the maze!"
Mu Yiran found that after he pulled Wei Dong, the other party never let go of his hand, and held him tightly with sweaty palms.
Just when Wei Dong felt that Mu Yiran was becoming more and more friendly, he suddenly heard him say coldly: "Just wait here."
Weidong, who lowered his chassis for fear of falling, said: …
Ke Xun, who was far away, said to Wei Dong: "Dongzi, you just stay outside and observe!"
Dongzi, who might fall if he took another step forward, nodded hurriedly and squatted on the wall, trembling.
"I saw that man!" Qin Ci moved forward quickly and pointed to an alley in front.
The four people cooperated tacitly and secretly surrounded the person in the maze along the outer road. The person was very fast and familiar with the layout of the maze, but gradually found that one person could not beat four hands, so he simply stopped running.
At this time, everyone had forced the man to the center of the maze. He stopped moving and sat down directly on the lawn at the center of the circle.
Ke Xun climbed down from the wall and kept a relatively safe distance from the man.
Zhu Haowen and Mu Yiran also came down one after another, only Qin Ci remained on the commanding heights, keeping a vigilant eye on the surroundings.
The man was wearing a large robe embroidered with four colored patterns: a blood-red moon, blue circles and diamonds, a goose yellow wheel, and an orange maze-shaped texture.
If the moon represents Zhang Tianwei, the circle represents Guo Lixia, the diamond represents Xin Beibei, and the wheel represents Miao Zipei, these are the members whose colors have been absorbed, then who does this orange maze pattern belong to?
"No wonder we are divided into five colors. In addition to the three primary colors, there are two intermediate colors, purple and green. The only missing color is orange." Zhu Haowen's eyes stayed on this person. "It turns out that you are orange."
This person was very thin, but his eyes were bright and sharp. He looked a little weird, probably because he had no shadow.
The man said nothing.
"In fact, I think that all colors have their own beauty. There are people who like all colors. There are also many people who like duck shit yellow and bile green," Ke Xun cleared his throat and made an opening statement. "Anyway, all colors are black when put together, so why not enjoy the colorful process? You can separate or combine these colors as you like. Why not give yourself some freedom!"
The Shadowless Man looked at Ke Xun coldly and said nothing.
Ke Xun had never experienced such a look that was like a thousand-year-old cold cave. Compared with this person, Mu Yiran's coldness was at most a box of ice cream, and it was lemon-vanilla flavored.
The signature must have been hidden by this person. Judging from his cold eyes, he would not utter a word even if he was tortured.
"I'm willing to contribute some purple." Mu Yiran finally spoke, "This way you can have six colors and get the black you want."
“Don’t do anything stupid!” The large glass jar used to soak people instantly appeared in Ke Xun’s mind, and for the first time in his life, he yelled at Mu Yiran.
"We have searched everywhere we can, and now we can confirm that the signature is on this person."
