First Chapter 11: The Uninhabited Villa
"It's a pity that I didn't buy this house even though I really thought it had great potential for appreciation. However, at least I gained something from this trip. At least I learned a lot. A few days after I got home, I got a minor illness - a cold and a fever. I thought I was possessed by something . This is also an inertial thinking that I have developed after doing this job - I am suspicious all day long."
After examining him, Qin Yiheng said that he really had a cold, and after taking medicine for a few days, he really got better.
The next day after I recovered, a college classmate came to me. He heard that I was doing this kind of weird stuff, so he wanted me to help him with some advice. His family was very rich, a big family in the county. He built a four-story building in the county. The first floor was used for office, the second and third floors were for living, and the fourth floor was renovated but always vacant.
As a result, in the past six months, every night when he was sleeping on the third floor, he could hear someone walking around in high heels on the fourth floor, and sometimes even heard the sound of a bed being moved. This classmate was very scared and did not dare to check.
When we went there in the daytime, we found nothing. I took Qin Yiheng with me, and he took a quick look and said that it was just a homeless ghost who moved in because there was an empty house. He had no ill intentions and that we could solve the problem by offering sacrifices to a deity. My classmate did as I was told, and sure enough, the sound never appeared again.
Although this incident was small, I learned a lesson: a house should not be unoccupied for too long, otherwise it will easily be used as a residence by homeless ghosts. This is why when we move to a new house, we will invite many relatives and friends to come for dinner and to boost popularity, because after all, the house will be empty for a long time from the time it is built to the time it is decorated and occupied.
Although the little ghosts living here generally have no malicious intentions or the ability to hurt people, and many people still live in the same room with these things, in the long run, they will still be affected to varying degrees.
After helping this classmate solve his family problems, Qin Yiheng and I got busy, because there were already signs of a recovery in the real estate market. There was still constant news from Yuan Zhen, but there were no very attractive houses. Fortunately, after waiting for a few more days, a reliable one was found, also a villa. Although the price was not low, Qin Yiheng and I were very interested.
This villa is located in a resort. It has three floors, and the third floor is actually just a loft, which is not very large. The owner of the villa is the boss of a real estate company and is very famous locally.
The cause of the incident was also very strange. Perhaps the boss had made a lot of ill-gotten gains, and he was also very superstitious, so he always liked things that were blessed to protect him from evil. It stands to reason that if these things were always around, there would be no taboos. However, after the boss spent more than 300,000 yuan to buy a jade Buddha pendant from Thailand that was said to be blessed by a local master, strange things began to happen.
First, when the boss was on vacation at the resort, he would often dream that someone was trying to steal his jade Buddha pendant, and this happened almost every night.
After several nightmares, the boss panicked and gave the jade pendant to a bodyguard and driver who had been with him for many years. The driver didn't know whether he knew about the boss' nightmares or not, but he put the jade pendant on. Unexpectedly, a few days later, the bodyguard swallowed the jade pendant and committed suicide, and died in this villa.
I didn't want to see this house at first, because the price of the villa was too high, and it was not easy to sell. But I was really bored at that time, and it was better to see a house than to wait in vain, so Qin Yiheng and I decided to go and take a look.
The city where the house is located is not big, it is considered the lowest of the second-tier cities. However, there are rich people everywhere, and second-tier cities do not affect these rich people from buying luxury houses. The villa area is located in the suburbs, and there is also a small golf driving range nearby.
When Qin Yiheng and I arrived, we didn't think it would be so far. We went to the hotel first after getting off the plane, and then took a taxi to the villa area. It was already dark when we got there.
Fortunately, we had contacted the boss before, and he arranged for one of his employees to wait for us. After a brief exchange, we found that the employee could not make the decision. He was only responsible for showing us the house and keeping the price at the price his boss had previously told us.
So after talking for a while, I felt that this was not very reliable. Even if someone died in the house, the price would not drop much.
This way we won't have any profit, and it's already night time, so I don't recommend going to see the house at this time. If there is any problem with the house, we will sacrifice it in vain if we rush in.
However, since it was so late, we could only sleep in this resort for one night. The room price was ridiculously expensive, but there was nothing we could do about it. The next morning, we followed the employee to see the house. The villa was decorated with a sense of art, but it was not as big as I imagined.
It looks like a three-story building from the outside, but only two are actually habitable. The third floor is a small attic that you can only enter by bending over, and it can only be used to store some sundries.
Qin Yiheng and I walked around upstairs and downstairs. He walked and stopped to look, and I chatted with the employee on the side. The content of the conversation revolved around the dead bodyguard. The employee seemed to be a relatively honest person, but he was hesitant when talking about the bodyguard, perhaps because the boss had given him some instructions before leaving. When Qin Yiheng finished looking, I didn't get anything out of him, so I could only make an appointment with him to talk again, and then Qin Yiheng and I withdrew.
As soon as I got out of the door, I asked Qin Yiheng, how do you feel?
Qin Yiheng said: "It's good."
I said, “How good is pretty good?”
Qin Yiheng said: "I really can't tell what it is, but this villa makes people feel very awkward."
When I heard him say that, my heart started beating faster, but looking at his expression it didn't seem like it was a big problem, so I asked him what was wrong.
He sighed and said, "This villa is so big, but why doesn't it have a kitchen?"
When he said that, I remembered that when I was walking around the house just now, I really didn't seem to notice whether there was a kitchen. But I think this is normal. A holiday villa doesn't have to have a kitchen. There are many high-end and mid-range restaurants in the resort. Besides, people who come on vacation are here to relax, so I guess no one wants to cook. I told Qin Yiheng my idea. He nodded at first, and then shook his head.
He said: "Indeed, it is normal for a resort to not have a kitchen. One of the most basic ways to identify the Yang energy of a house is to see if there is a fire, that is, whether there is a fire for cooking. Modern life is more vague about this concept, but in ancient times, houses without a fire were basically empty. This is a bit complicated to explain in detail. To put it simply, there is no human smell in the house. Therefore, we find that many supernatural events happen in hotels, and this is actually the reason. Where there is human smell, the Yang energy will gradually become stronger. Unless there is really something dirty, otherwise the harmless wandering souls will be washed away by the human smell."
Qin Yiheng continued, "We've been there just now. Apart from the lack of human smell, everything in the house seems normal. In this case, the dead bodyguard has no grudges. This raises two questions. Assuming that the bodyguard did die in that house, first, the bodyguard must have died a violent death and must be unwilling to accept it. He just died not long ago, and there was no external interference. There is no kitchen in this house, so it is impossible for his soul to dissipate so quickly. Second, if the bodyguard's life span is really over, this is good news for us. However, as a businessman, the boss should still be profit-driven. It is impossible for him to sell us a house with no problems at a discount. If he has asked an expert to look at it and the expert can't solve the problem, then we will be digging our own grave if we buy it."
After that, Qin Yiheng looked at me and didn't say anything for a long time. I felt a little scared when he looked at me like that, so I quickly asked him what he meant.
He said, "How about we do an experiment tonight?"
I got anxious when I heard this. We have done this kind of experiment too many times and none of them had gone through safely.
Qin Yiheng said, "This experiment is very simple, I don't have to go." After he finished speaking, I thought about it for a moment. He said it so lightly, so it must be okay this time, right? Anyway, it would be meaningless for me to go back alone, so I might as well go with him to see the excitement, so I nodded.
Seeing that I agreed, Qin Yiheng took me to prepare some simple things.
These things are very common, but I have no idea what they mean when . We went to the supermarket first, and Qin Yiheng picked out a large porcelain bowl, tapping it against his ear for a long time, and then bought a bunch of chopsticks, also picking them one by one for a long time. Finally, he filled a bowl of water with the porcelain bowl and placed it under the wall outside our window before going to bed. The next day, he carefully brought the bowl of water in and told me that tonight, I would look at this bowl of water.
That night, we both quietly returned to the villa. We walked very slowly because we were holding the bowl of water. Fortunately, it was not the holiday season, so there were not many people in the resort.
Qin Yiheng opened a window of the villa and told me that he had left it open that day. He asked me to go in first, take the bowl, and then he would climb in.
These few simple movements made me exhausted because of the bowl of water. The water was basically flush with the edge of the bowl, and Qin Yiheng also told me not to spill a single drop, so even if I just held it, it was very tiring.
After climbing into the villa, Qin Yiheng became a hands-off uncle and asked me to hold the bowl first, and then he started running around the villa.
My arms couldn't bear it anymore, so I wanted to put the bowl on the ground. Before I could bend down, Qin Yiheng turned around and told me not to put the bowl on the ground. This way, I had to pull back my strength, which really tested my muscle control. Fortunately, I was careful enough and the water didn't spill.
By the time Qin Yiheng came over to take the bowl, my arms were so numb that I almost lost all feeling.
Qin Yiheng took the bowl, holding it step by step, and walked to a corner of the villa. He placed the bowl gently on the ground, then placed a chopstick horizontally on the edge of the bowl and pulled me away.
On the way back, I remembered, is there a camera? I looked back and forth as I walked back. Fortunately, the security facilities in this villa area are not perfect. There are only cameras at the intersection of each small road. The process of the two of us climbing through the window to enter the house was not captured.
There was no conversation that night. Before dawn the next day, Qin Yiheng woke me up and took me back quietly. We went back to the villa and squatted next to the bowl. He didn't move, so I didn't dare to move either, but I didn't know what we were waiting for.
After more than ten minutes, Qin Yiheng looked at his watch and told me that it was almost and asked me to be careful. Then I realized that he might be waiting for dawn.
Daybreak came quickly. I stared at the bowl for a long time, then looked out the window. When I looked back, it was already daybreak.
Qin Yiheng also kept looking at the bowl with a frown, but the bowl did not change at all until he heard the sparrows chirping outside the window.
He said "Huh", tilted his head and looked left and right for a long time.
I wanted to ask him what was going on, but I was afraid of interrupting his magic, so I had to keep it to myself.
He looked at it for a while and then asked me to jump out of the window with him.
On the way back, Qin Yiheng was wondering, saying that although he was not a so-called master, at least he had never failed so badly in using these techniques. He originally wanted to see how the bodyguard died tonight. According to him, "Water is the most spiritual thing in nature (science also believes that water is the most important element of life. Qin Yiheng has always believed that things that can be explained by current technology are called science, and things that cannot be explained are called metaphysics. In fact, it may not be that metaphysics is so profound, but that human technology cannot explain it now). The overnight water he filled that night has a story. Night dew and morning dew are the water closest to the underworld in the world of the living. This is called rootless water. In comparison, it is easier to communicate with spirits than simple water. He placed the bowl in the south of the villa and left it there overnight. If the bodyguard really died in this house, unless he was really taken away by the underworld, he would be able to find traces of his existence on the water anyway. Even if people can't feel or see it, water that is more sensitive than humans can't fail to detect it."
The chopsticks were used to dip in water and hold it high during the period of time when the sky was about to brighten, waiting for the water drops to fall naturally. The place where the water drops floated to was the location of the soul. However, since there was no reaction even to the bowl of water, there was no need to do this part.
