chapter eight
The low pressure lasted until we entered the house.
Xie Yan finally spoke the first sentence: " You went out to play without telling your father, your father is worried about you."
I paused. “There’s no signal in the mountains. Sorry.”
He didn't say anything more, just went straight into the bedroom and slammed the door.
This atmosphere continued until midnight again.
It has become a habit for me to wake up in the middle of the night to drink water.
I put down the cup and just in time saw Xie Yan coming out of the room. He was only wearing a bath towel, with clear lines on his upper body.
He stared at me and walked to my side. I felt embarrassed by his stare, so I had to speak first: "You haven't slept yet?"
Xie Yan didn't say anything, but took a bottle of wine from the cabinet.
He took out two more cups, filled each one, and pushed one to me.
After I took a sip, he spoke: "Jing Yuan, why did you lie to me?"
I knew he was talking about Qi Han: "No, we just confirmed our relationship last night."
"Did he touch you last night?" I was stunned and realized that this was the question asked by Xie Yan.
We have been together for such a long time, and although he likes to bring women back home, he has never been so straightforward in front of me.
Most of the time, he is innocent and sincere, and everything is written on his face. He also takes good care of me.
But at times he is extremely vulnerable and does not hide it at all.
"Why don't you answer me, Yuanyuan." Xie Yan lowered his eyes and continued to pour and drink.
"Guilty? Are you afraid that I will tell your father, or are you afraid of me?"
To be honest, I do feel a sense of guilt towards him.
But it does not come from emotion, but an inexplicable premonition and sign.
It's like I was supposed to be loyal to him.
But the strangest thing was that I felt no emotion at all. I knew clearly that I had no emotional support for him.
"No, Xie Yan, stop drinking and go back to sleep."
I put down the cup, not wanting to say anything more, but when I turned around he grabbed my wrist: "What do you like about him?"
"have no idea."
Finally I ignored his gaze, forced myself away from him and went back to my room.
That night, I became accustomed to having nightmares.
But this time, it was obviously different from usual.
I dreamed of some long, beautiful little fish.
Someone blindfolded me and tied my limbs, and I could feel the wet touch going up my ankles.
A sickening chill rose in my heart, and every cell was clamoring, like a dream filled with evil desires and darkness.
I finally woke up at 4:25 in the morning.
There were two messages from Qi Han on the phone screen, three hours ago.
Qi Han: “Pictures.”
Qi Han: "Say hello to the little ones in advance."
In the glass fish tank, there were several slender, silvery-white fish, jumping around so lively that they even became blurs in the photo.
But I felt sick and slammed the phone back onto the bedside table.
Those fish were exactly the same as the ones that were rampant in my dream.
It's like, I know them, just as they know me.
The Doraemon-shaped night lamp on the bedside table fell to the ground with a clang. The light flickered and a black object fell out.
I slowly picked it up and saw the small black square with a red light flashing on the top.
monitor.
…
"What's wrong? Is your breakfast not to your liking?" Today's breakfast was a takeaway ordered by Xie Yan. I lowered my head to drink the porridge and just said "hmm".
He was a little suspicious: "Didn't you sleep well last night?"
I shook my head and put down the bowl after finishing my meal: "You don't have to send me off today, Qi Han will come to pick me up."
As expected, Xie Yan paused with his chopsticks and his tone turned cold: "Are you so anxious?"
I didn't answer, but got up, packed my things and went out.
"Jing Yuan, we're just in love, why are you so disobedient?"
"Not riding in your car and not answering your calls means I'm not listening?"
I looked at him coldly: "Xie Yan, I'm just in love, and you're just my cousin's brother."
Actually, I lied. I didn't let Qi Han pick me up.
I didn't go to school either, but wandered around outside alone with the small monitor in my pocket.
If nothing unexpected happens, Xie Yan will know that it has been discovered soon.
I turned off my phone and went to my father's company, but the first thing he said when he saw me was a frown: "Why are you here?"
Second sentence: "What are you doing here? Where is Xie Yan?"
It was Xie Yan again. I didn’t say anything and asked everyone else to leave.
In the office, I took out the monitor and placed it on the table: "Dad, you know everything, right?"
My father's expression froze for a moment.
The next second, he put on a smiling face again: "What are you talking about? Yuanyuan, where did this come from?"
"Xie Yan installed it in my room."
I suppressed my inner emotions: "Not only did you know, you also deliberately gave me to him, and he is not my relative's brother, right?"
"Yuanyuan, don't talk nonsense."
But his father just smiled. "Student Xie is an excellent student, how could he do such a thing? Tell me honestly, how did this come about?"
I stared at his smile and was speechless for a long time.
In my memory, I have a vague concept of father.
It was as if he suddenly appeared in my world, and my mother died during childbirth.
Eventually, I left his company, taking the monitor with me.
I stood on the steps of the park, which was a hill planted with flowers. It was a good season and the park was full of vitality.
But I didn't have the heart to appreciate it.
It's all so weird.
"Jing Yuan." I turned around and it was Qi Han.
Behind him was Xie Yan, who was leaning on his knees with his hands and looking up at me.
I guess they might have just had a big fight over me.
The guess is reasonable, but I can't find any evidence that they have any intersection or contradiction in reality.
"Yuanyuan, I've been looking for you for a long time."
Qi Han extended his hand to me: "Come, let's go back."
Xie Yan sneered on the side.
And I stood there without moving.
I saw a .
The next second, he ran towards me.
I turned and ran, but didn't notice that I stepped on empty space.
The head was spinning and my whole body was in excruciating pain. I rolled down the stairs and fell into the freezing cold lake water.
In a daze, I saw two figures running towards me.
And a name I've never heard of.
"Thank you."
