Chapter 98 Brainstorming
“This feeling?”
"Is it the innate qi mentioned in the inner alchemy classics?" Chen Jue felt a little confused.
This was also the first time he encountered a pregnant woman with a big belly like Mrs. Biao after he woke up, and he unexpectedly sensed the extremely weak feeling of "positive radiation".
As for the "Innate Qi" that Chen Jue thought of, it was the only extremely abstract concept he could think of that had been mentioned by Taoist predecessors and was the closest to this situation, after he had made some progress in his practice and read Taoist culture and inner alchemy classics in group files.
What is the innate qi?
Taoist classics call it the basic element that constitutes the universe and all things.
Zhang Boduan of the Northern Song Dynasty, also known as Ziyang Zhenren, who is revered as the founder of the Southern School of Quanzhen Taoism, wrote a Taoist alchemy book "Wu Zhen Pian" during his lifetime. In it, he mentioned this sentence: "Wu and Ji are born from the five numbers, and the three families meet to form a baby. The baby contains the true Qi, and after ten months of pregnancy, it enters the holy foundation."
The word "true Qi" is mentioned here, which is the same as "innate Qi".
As for the rest, Chen Jue originally thought that the descriptions about "forming a baby", "round fetus" and "holy foundation" were similar to the ones mentioned in the boxing classics: "holding the elixir and sitting on the hips to form a holy fetus, building the foundation for a hundred days to exchange blood."
They are all about mobilizing the body's qi and blood and gathering them inwardly at the Shangqu point, allowing the body to slowly transform and allowing one's spirit to reach an extremely miraculous "forming a pill" process.
This is boxing martial arts or inner alchemy that has been practiced to an extremely high level of "Golden Elixir"!
It was also similar to the situation where Chen Jue accidentally entered "fetal breathing" during his sleep.
After forming the elixir, one needs to go through a long process of rebirth, changing marrow and blood, and building the foundation for a hundred days, and then let the body shed the acquired impurities and return to its innate state, just like a newborn baby.
The sentence in Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching mentioned earlier: "Concentrate your energy and be gentle. Can you be like a baby?" describes the temperament characteristics of such innate masters.
The process of building the foundation for 100 days varies according to a person's physical condition. Those with strong constitutions may need to last 100 days, while those with weak constitutions may need to take longer. One must be extremely careful throughout the process to avoid "pill explosion" before the foundation is built.
Throughout history, many famous masters of martial arts, or masters and high-level Taoists who practiced inner alchemy, died of diarrhea in their later years. This means that they failed to form the elixir and died directly from "elixir explosion".
The long process of holding the elixir and building the foundation is just like a pregnant woman's ten months of pregnancy. One has to be very careful throughout the whole process, so it is described in Taoist classics as "nurturing the fetus". It is difficult all the way and one must avoid "miscarriage" at any time.
Just like in ancient times when medical care was underdeveloped, giving birth to a child for a woman was like walking through the gates of hell. In palace fighting dramas and costume dramas, we can often see bloody dramas about miscarriage, difficult labor, and saving the mother or the child.
"The inner golden elixir will become round everywhere."
"The fetus is born after ten months and enters the holy foundation."
From Chen Jue's perspective, the meaning of these two sentences is not that a tangible pill has really formed in the body.
Instead, after the Qi and blood are internalized at the Shangqu point, the person reaches a wonderful state of being invisible and formless, and able to burst out at any time the so-called "True Martial Divine Power" in Taoist classics.
Wang Chongyang, the founder of Quanzhen Taoism, once called this strange state "the living dead."
Master Wang Chongyang practiced in the Tomb of the Living Dead in Nanshi Village. Two years later, he came out to preach after achieving great success in the art of alchemy. In fact, he should have experienced the process of holding the elixir and nurturing the fetus during these two years.
The whole body's qi and blood are concentrated in one place, and the blood flow in other parts of the body has dropped to an extremely low state. Accompanied by the introversion of consciousness, the brain is in an extremely mysterious state, similar to a state of stopping thinking but being able to sense the outside world. This is close to the "living dead" described by Wang Chongyang.
To put it in a more modern, straightforward, simple and appropriate way, the "living dead" can also be understood as a special type of vegetative person who can wake up on his own at any time.
Because vegetative state is also accompanied by decreased blood circulation function throughout the body, artificial assistance is needed to prevent necrosis of limbs caused by long-term immobility.
The brain of a vegetative person has developed a special consciousness disorder and has lost the intelligence, thoughts, will, emotions, etc. that a human should have. It is very similar to some of the characteristics of the "living dead" described by Wang Chongyang.
It is just holding the elixir to nourish the fetus and returning to the innate state, but the process is not completely risk-free!
Among the ancient great masters or monks, we often hear rumors and descriptions such as "sitting in meditation and remaining alive after death".
This description may not be an exaggeration, nor does it mean that a great man or monk dies of old age and passes away while sitting.
According to the concept of Chen Jue, who has made some progress in practicing inner alchemy, this rumor is most likely about the person practicing inner alchemy unable to stop, unable to regain consciousness, and the blood gathered in the Shangqu acupoint unable to flow back to the whole body, so he accidentally turned from a "living dead" into a vegetative state that ancient people could not understand, and finally became a real dead person.
This strange state is very close to the term "colorless and formless" mentioned in the Diamond Sutra translated by the ancient monk Kumarajiva , and to the meaning of a sentence that Sakyamuni told Subhuti: "If there is color, if there is no color; if there is thought, if there is no thought, if it is neither some nor no thought."
Even Laozi's Tao Te Ching describes this state: "The Tao is so bland that it has no taste. It cannot be seen, heard, or used."
The classics of the three religions are mixed with a large number of cryptic words, secret languages, and terminology, and most of them are written in ancient poetry and classical Chinese. As a result, when modern people read them, they seem confusing, awkward, and difficult to understand.
In this article, we will simply call this wonderful state "golden elixir". Buddhists call it sarira, and Confucians call it Tai Chi. Therefore, Master Sanfeng said in "Chan Song": "The three religions are originally one family." The "three religions" are Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. In the end, they are different in name, but the essence is the same, which has nothing to do with words.
For ordinary people, this golden elixir state is too profound, unfathomable and untouchable.
But for a successful practitioner like Chen Jue, there are no secrets.
Of course, all of the above are just literal understandings, which can be said to be extremely superficial understandings.
When he accidentally got close to the fetus in Mrs. Biao's belly and sensed that trace of innate Qi, all these superficial understandings were overturned by Chen Jue!
Since this extremely incredible state of "Golden Elixir" really exists and is written into the classics of the three religions.
Then the "innate Qi" or "true Qi" in Taoist classics, which is said to be the basic element that constitutes all things in heaven and earth, should not be a fictional product.
Chen Jue, a beginner in alchemy, can personally feel the subtle "positive radiation", which shows that the illusory Taoist term and pictographic word "innate qi" may not be a casual fallacy in the classic works of ancient predecessors.
It may be that those ancient masters who have achieved enlightenment through cultivation, such as Lao Tzu, Sakyamuni, Zi Yang Zhenren, Chun Yang Lu Zu, Quan Zhen Wang Chongyang, etc., have personally felt this kind of "positive radiation" that is beneficial to the human body but invisible.
However, due to the limitations of the times they lived in, they could only describe this "positive radiation" as the innate Qi or the true Qi. If they had used their intelligence to master modern scientific theories, the term for the innate Qi would have to be changed.
The word "positive radiation" is the only word Chen Jue can think of for now. It is a relatively modern word to describe the "innate qi", but it cannot be used to make a final conclusion yet.
Because he didn't know whether this "innate qi" was radiation, or a special force similar to gravity that had the characteristics of both "wave" and "particle", or some even rarer dark matter or dark energy.
Those ancient masters first discovered its existence from the perspective of observers, and then they wrote it into the alchemy classics using the most straightforward and simple words of that era to tell future generations that this "innate qi" actually exists.
In order to sense this "innate qi", the observer must first go through the stages of 'holding the elixir', 'nourishing the fetus' and 'entering the holy foundation', which is the so-called perfection of the elixir method.
Or to understand it more intuitively from the perspective of "babies contain true Qi", that is, the observer can also sense and experience the weak innate Qi from the real mother's fetus, just like the situation Chen Jue is facing now!
Chen Jue speculated that the "innate qi" emitted by the fetus that he could sense was too weak and different from the scientific phenomena such as radiation, force, and energy currently studied by humans, so it has not been monitored and discovered by scientific means until now.
After all, the universe hides endless mysteries, human life is so short, and the level of science and technology is limited. There are many problems that I am afraid that human civilization will never be able to analyze and explain clearly.
Looking back at history, we can see that those scientific pioneers and great men who amazed an era, one after another, devoted themselves to the study of these mysteries of the universe, and spent their entire lives only to make achievements in a small field.
This is the limitation of human life and wisdom, and it is also the result of human beings passing down knowledge and culture from generation to generation, allowing countless human wise men to conduct in-depth research and promote the rapid progress of the entire civilization, until one day in the future we can leave the earth and truly look to the stars. This is the so-called community of human destiny.
Having said so much, let’s get back to the topic.
The reason why Chen Jue could sense this innate Qi was because he had practiced his boxing martial arts to an extremely high level, and had also mastered the art of internal alchemy.
Although Chen Jue is not yet a true "Golden Core" master, his extraordinary physical fitness, coupled with the assistance of the attribute panel, is already comparable to the "Golden Core" masters of ancient times, and he can even surpass them in some aspects. Only then can he become this observer and sense the subtle fluctuations of the "Innate Qi" from the perspective of a real fetus.
Let’s go back to what was mentioned above. Since this “innate qi” is known as the basic element for constructing the universe in Taoist culture, and it has been observed personally by Chen Jue.
Then, conversely, from the current scientific perspective, what are the basic elements that construct everything in the universe?
Is it a unified entity composed of time, space, matter and energy ?
Or is it a mysterious radiation or force like the "innate qi" that has not yet been measured by humans, or is it some special dark energy or dark matter?
Or, as long as we use scientific and technological means to detect this "innate qi" and prove it with mathematical formulas, we can directly substitute it into the reference to form a theorem and completely solve the speculation about the components of the universe that has plagued mankind for countless years?
Thinking of this, Chen Jue felt that his knowledge reserves were not enough.
I have an IQ of 1.61 (1.11), but I just can't figure it out.
At this moment, the whole person fell into some extremely wonderful contemplation, or it could be said that he entered a state of enlightenment, but he was unable to fully understand it.
…
"Old cat, what are you standing there for?"
"Hurry up and sit down and eat!"
Seeing Chen Jue standing there in a daze for a long time, Wang Biao on the side reached out and patted Chen Jue on the shoulder.
Only then did Chen Jue suddenly wake up from the wonderful realization he had just had!
It’s just that what he was thinking about just now was too profound, so after waking up, Chen Jue felt as if he had been practicing martial arts for a long time and became hungry.
This is because Chen Jue experienced a brainstorming session and overused his brain, causing his brain to consume energy at an accelerated rate.
Some well-known large companies in the society often organize such brainstorming meetings from time to time, and before the meetings, each person is placed in front of a can of high-calorie cola or functional drinks like Red Bull , or refreshing coffee and tea, just to cope with this situation of excessive brain use.
“Ah?”
"good!"
"Have a meal!"
"When you are hungry, eating is the most important thing!"
Chen Jue came back to his senses, put away his solemn and thoughtful expression, and replaced it with a smiling face like someone who is going to a guest's house for dinner.
After just one look at the plate of crispy fried bamboo worms on the table and a plate of bamboo fungus slices with meat that looked a bit like claustrophobia to him, Chen Jue, who was already starving, couldn't help but shiver .
