Chapter 94: Why Life Sleeps
Chapter 94: Why Life Sleeps
Harry has been questioning his life ever since he was pulled up.
He is a normal boy, right?
Even though he is relatively thin compared to his peers, he still has the weight of an adult male.
Then why was he easily knocked down by a beautiful girl who looked so fragile, and finally had to trouble others to pull him up?
He carefully glanced at the size of the firefly.
A typical beautiful girl, but she doesn't look as strong as the cheerleader of the football team.
Harry touched his muscles again. Although they were thin and could not be seen from the outside, they could be considered as well-built.
How could this be?
Firefly, who was introducing the famous golden hour attractions to Tim and Peter, noticed Harry's gaze and gave him an apologetic smile.
Player: Do you really think of me as an ordinary girl?
Of course, Tim also noticed the suspicious point that Harry was knocked down by the firefly, but there were too many variables in the dream, so he could only suppress the doubts in his heart for the time being.
Tim: "Ms. Firefly, is there any story about bats in Golden Hour?"
Liuying frowned and thought for a while: "Bats? There is no part about bats in the five major families of Pinocchio, but if it is not family-related..."
There was an unknown light flashing in her beautiful gradient eyes:
"I have an inside scoop, but I need you to do me a favor."
Labor is rewarded, this is a truth that has existed since ancient times. Tim was also very curious about what this lady who suddenly appeared to touch Harry had requested, but Liuying's request was a little strange -
"Think about why life is asleep? Seriously?"
Peter stood next to the pinball machine and scratched his head frantically, and Harry followed suit and complained:
"This request sounds too abstract, doesn't it? Brother, I know you are a fan of the Justice League and you are sad about their death, but do we really have to think about this philosophical question?"
I always feel like I’m getting caught in a vortex of scripture debate.
Liuying pursed her lips awkwardly. This was the future script that Elio told her. Although it was not the story that would happen now, Elio did not say that spoilers were not allowed. This proved that this small deviation in his prediction was insignificant.
"I'm sorry, but I really need the answer. In return, I can tell you the news in advance."
The film review staff of the Iris family withheld the films of the "Clock Boy: Dream Memories" series launched by Clark Film Park because someone maliciously reported that their stories contained inappropriate content.
“What is inappropriate content?”
"It's something that alludes to the current political situation. After all, Pinocchio is the family's territory. How could they allow something that is unfavorable to the family to appear in their movies?"
Liuying gave her own explanation, but her words were obviously inconsistent with her identity as an artist of the Iris family. So far, she has exposed many flaws, but finding out the problems is not a great achievement. Finding out who she is is really useful.
Otherwise, falling out with the only person who could possibly provide clues in this unfamiliar place would be detrimental to Tim's goal of finding Batman. He had already dragged on for long enough. It had taken a lot of time just to get to Pinocchio, and the heroes' mortal identities were already shaky.
"The film is in the Pinocchio Theater, which is heavily guarded by the family. I don't recommend you to force your way in. Maybe you can go talk to the people at Clark Film Park."
Harry looked at the pinball machine and swallowed.
"You won't get carsick, will you?"
"It is true that some visitors cannot adapt to the speed of the pinball machine at first, but that is only at the beginning. Pinocchio's Dream is absolutely safe and there will be no life-threatening situations."
Liuying, on behalf of the family, repeatedly assured the reliability of the beautiful dream and taught them step by step how to use the pinball machine.
"Wow--"
Harry, the only one who had not experienced an exciting nightlife, exclaimed in surprise. For the first time in his life, he experienced what it felt like to be kicked around like a ball. The novelty of the experience made him fail to notice Peter and Tim's calmness.
Wonder Woman dug up the Green Lantern creature that wrapped around Green Lantern and woke him up from his slumber.
"Good morning, Diana, where is this?"
Hal lay on the bed he created and yawned sleepily: "We are saved, right?"
His smile froze when he saw Diana's slightly weathered face. He then realized something was wrong and looked around and found that the scenery was indeed not that of Earth.
Green light, what is this for? Is this still the real world? Whose door is overhead and the corridor is moving? Even Hogwarts is not so outrageous.
Wonder Woman excitedly hugged her lost companion.
Hal understood the whole story.
Green Lantern decided to help Pinocchio win the War of Independence.
Hal and Diana fought together for Pinocchio in the Asdena galaxy, where there was a lack of food and clothing, scarce resources, and only memory bubbles and memory matter. The power of the Green Lantern Ring gave them great help.
Player: By the way, is the term "War of Independence" considered a special attack for Americans?
System: It’s hard to say, but we can make a guess. After all, the War of Independence was one of the few wars launched by the United States on the grounds of justice and fairness.
Player: But we're talking about Pinocchio.
System: No difference.
The pinball machine took them all the way to their destination, and the stream of light sent the three of them down. Harry stood there for a while and found that he was not as carsick as he had imagined.
I'll try again later, he thought with satisfaction.
Standing at the entrance of Clark Movie Park, Tim looked up and saw the Hanu brothers and the Hamster Ball Knights standing on both sides of the gate, and the statue of the Clock Boy standing in front of the movie city.
“There are so many people here.”
Harry sighed sincerely, and followed the tourists with great interest to take pictures everywhere. Humans, omnics, Pixies, Skyrings, foxes, all kinds of intelligent creatures in the galaxy gathered in this movie park, waiting for the next movie to start.
"This is much more exciting than Hollywood." Peter also exclaimed, although he had never been to Hollywood.
Tim couldn't tell which one was more extravagant and decadent. He had just heard with his own ears that someone had spent most of his life savings and, at an old age, brought his spouse here to pursue his dream.
But for the sake of that shiny Clock Boy statue, at least the cartoon is less lethal than the slew of rated films churned out by Hollywood.
Why does life fall asleep? Tim thought about the question raised by the firefly while touring.
It didn't seem like a condition, but more like some kind of codeword. Pinocchio was hiding a deeper secret than he imagined, and the price of touching this secret was unknown.
Sleep...Dream...
An idea flashed through his mind, but he couldn't catch its tail.
With the help of many unknown guests of the Star Train, more and more factions choose to help Pinocchio. In the long tug-of-war between the company and the prisoners, the crucial battle that will decide the outcome is about to come.
Hal saw with his own eyes that Wonder Woman disappeared under the siege of the company's fleet, along with many of his companions who fought alongside him.
The cost of this war was too tragic, even exceeding the worst outcome they had originally expected. Hal didn't even have time to grieve. Before the sadness overwhelmed everyone, he must not give up the opportunity that Diana had fought for him with her life.
System: Didn’t the Justice League die a little too quickly?
Player: War is always brutal. If we don't ban the three giants of the Justice League, what if Pinocchio really lets them turn the tables? No matter how I remake history, I can't change the ending.
To Tim's surprise, he easily met the general manager of Clark Films, a guy wearing a Clock Boy mask on his head.
"Sir, I assure you that the "Sweet Dreams" series will definitely be released. We just had a small dispute with the censors..."
Compared to the head of a famous movie studio, the producer gave him the feeling of a fanatical fan. At least the heads of film and television companies that Tim had met on Earth would not put their own IP products on their heads.
This is probably one of the characteristics of a beautiful dream.
Tim asked the question he had repeated many times.
"Bat? Oh, I know his story,"
Mr. Producer deserves his mask.
"He is the best helper of Brother Hanu and has the smartest mind in the world. He also helped Brother Hanu gather his companions and led the resistance army to occupy the prison step by step..."
"So, he died?"
Tim felt his throat go dry.
The producer shook his head. "There were too many factions involved in that war, including the Masked Fool and the fictional historian. After the family took over Pinocchio, some of the stories were changed. It is impossible to verify the original stories."
"Some people believe that Batman, like Sun Man, disappeared in a primitive synesthesia dream. Some people believe that Batman died together with Miss Wonder in the siege of the company's fleet. Some people even say that the Hanu brothers were jealous of Batman's talent and took action against him..."
The producer mentioned a few names that made Tim fully associate with the old people, which gave him a bold guess -
The time and space turbulence brought the Justice League to the past, when Pinocchio had not yet been built.
After saying goodbye to Harry Peter, he hurriedly exited the dream, returned to reality, and took out the test device.
In the simulated universe, Jason looked at the simulated environment of Pinocchio and was noncommittal about Tim's guess:
"Traveling through time? Sounds like a story about a sea ranger."
"Could you elaborate?"
Jason cleared his throat: "Ahem, this has to start with the power of Emperor Bow Siming..."
The bullets that forever intersect with the arrow of time are pursuing the immortal things that defy time. The bullets of the Sea Patrolman are made of the ashes of the Lord of Extinction, the wails of ancient beasts... materials of countless deaths. The light that is emitted at this moment can transmit information to the past.
"So time travel is possible."
Tim took away Jason's boasting about the Sea Ranger and extracted the central idea.
"Of course," Jason said matter-of-factly.
"The Armed Archaeology School once found projectiles that did not belong to that era in the remains of various monster fossils. They were fired from an era when humans did not yet exist. The Alliance also has records of this."
"Did you hear that, Ms. Black Tower?" Tim knocked on a genius who was definitely online.
"Got it. Hurry up and test the simulated universe. This is not a place for you to chat."
The bird image representing the Black Tower responded impatiently.
