Chapter 902: Innate Spirit (2)

“Shh! Shh!”
A sharp cry was heard in the thick fog in the distance.
Zhou Laodao carried a long sword and followed the simple stairs that grew naturally behind the metal wall. After a few jumps, he rushed to the top of the wall.
At this moment, the metal wall was only concerned with extending to both sides, and no one cared about thickening it. The wall was only three feet thick, and Zhou Laodao could barely stand on the top of the wall, and so could the others. Being able to swing a knife and shoot arrows on the top of the wall was all that mattered. As for any heavy weapons, it was impossible to place them on the current wall.
Where the cry came from, the thick fog suddenly split into ripples, just like ripples formed by a high-speed ship cutting through the water.
Accompanied by the sharp sound of breaking wind, dozens of strange creatures fled in a panic.
These small creatures are shaped like red deer, with a black body, shiny and hairless, and a light metallic sheen on their skin. They are only about one foot and five or six inches long from head to tail, and only seven or eight inches high from top to bottom. However, such small creatures can run at an astonishing speed, often jumping up to more than twenty feet high and running two or three miles away.
Its speed was so fast that it left an afterimage in the air!
But running at such a fast speed... the laws of this world are particularly strange. If it were in other worlds, running at such a fast speed would have already produced a 'Mach ring' and circles of sonic explosions visible to the naked eye.
But in this world, these little creatures only made a harsh sound of breaking wind, without any strange signs that "supersonic" should have.
Dozens of strange little creatures came running wildly, rushing towards the city wall that was growing rapidly, absorbing metal materials from the ground, and constantly thickening and reinforcing.
Such small creatures, and when Zhou Laodao and others saw them , they were less than two miles away from the city wall. These small creatures jumped up, like cannonballs, and hit the city wall straight.
There were continuous loud clanging sounds, and large sparks flew up from the city walls.
According to Zhao Ding, the city foundation that even a general-level master could not easily break through was actually created by these dozens of fleeing little creatures, creating a hole the size of a bowl and over a foot deep!
What can be determined is that these small creatures did not use any magic or supernatural powers. They relied entirely on their own bodies to create such huge holes in the wall formed by the city foundation!
Zhou Laodao and the others stared with their eyes wide open in shock , and two Zhou youths suddenly swung their swords and slashed heavily on the battlements of the city wall in front of them. There was a loud "clang" sound, and countless sparks flew between the blade and the battlements of the city wall, but there was no trace of it on the city wall. Instead, the two Zhou youths were shocked so much that their wrists went numb, and their bodies swayed and stepped back two steps, almost falling headfirst from the city wall that had grown to a height of about a hundred feet.
Everyone who witnessed this scene gasped.
The two young men of the Zhou family had both successfully awakened their spirits and had both "entered the Dao". In this pioneering group, their strength would at least be ranked among the top 20. However, they were swinging their fine swords and were unable to damage the city wall at all, while dozens of fleeing small creatures outside the city actually used their bodies to break through the city wall?
A mournful cry was heard.
Dozens of small creatures with bloody heads hit the city wall and were bounced back dozens of feet by the recoil force. They twitched on the ground for a while, and actually shook their bodies, crawled up little by little, and turned around in circles on the spot weakly, gasping for breath.
On the city wall, dozens of dazzling holes flickered with faint light.
Countless runes were flowing in the foundation of the city, and a large amount of metal that had just been absorbed turned into juice and flowed towards this side. Dozens of small holes were completely healed in the blink of an eye, leaving no trace.
A sharp sound of breaking through the air was heard on the city wall.
Zhou Changgong pulled the bow, and an arrow flashing with a faint cold light flew out from the city wall and hit a small creature with a cracked scalp and black and red blood plasma like mercury constantly dripping out.
The little creature obviously had extremely sharp perception. It suddenly raised its head, shook its body, and jumped to the side. It just hit the wall hard, and even though it reacted quickly, its body movements were still three points slower, and it could not escape the arrow.
'bite'!
Including Lu Yi who took a few steps to the top of the city wall, countless people saw the arrow splashing large sparks on the little beast's head, and the half-foot-long special three-edged armor-piercing arrowhead was blown to pieces. The arrow shaft vibrated violently, swirling backwards, and flew nearly a hundred feet away with a "whoosh" sound.
Zhou Changgong looked back at Lu Yi with a numb expression.
The arrows he used were the finest arrows that Lu Fu had refined using the spiritual gold in his stockpile on the night when the Zhou Family Sword Workshop was besieged in Luoyi City.
Even though Lu Yi's weapon-refining skills were not that great, the quality of these arrows, in Luoyi City, was already top-notch stuff. Ordinary heavenly soldier-level armor could be easily broken through with just one arrow!
And in this world, an ordinary little creature actually took the arrow with its head. It did not suffer any damage itself, but the arrow was shattered into pieces.
If arrows can do this, one can imagine that if swords, spears, swords, or halberds were to fall on this little creature, the effect would probably be the same.
And these small creatures that look like sika deer, assuming that they are the same "herbivorous" animals as the well-known sika deer...then, what about the carnivorous beasts in this world?
Could it be that their minions could easily break through the most sophisticated armor of the pioneering group, tear everyone into pieces with ease, and eat them as snacks?
In the thick fog, the sound of footsteps could be heard.
Scarlet eyes lit up one after another, and several strange creatures, about one foot tall, shaped like humans but with slender bodies and faintly silver-black skin, slowly walked out of the thick fog.
These little creatures held weapons that looked like spears, but judging from the workmanship, they were obviously crudely made. They stood in the mist and looked up at Lu Yi and others who were standing on the city wall, overlooking them from above.
Dozens of 'elks' that were dizzy after hitting the wall let out frightened cries, staggered to their feet, and tried to run away further.
In the thick fog, dozens of spears whizzed in, piercing through the necks of these small creatures and pinning them heavily to the ground.
The little 'elk' fell to the ground, its body twitching violently, and thin drops of blood spurted out. The blood beads were like mercury beads, swirling and rolling on the ground, and slowly seeping into the soil.
On the city wall, everyone exclaimed in surprise.
The spears in the hands of these little guys can kill these little 'elks' as easily as piercing through tofu... It's really... terrifying when you think about it!
