Chapter 90: Heading to Koyama Temple
I don’t know how long I slept before my cousin woke me up.
"What's wrong?"
I was still asleep and my voice was hoarse.
My cousin looked at me with shining eyes.
"Hurry up and pack your things. We're going to Gaoshan Temple tomorrow."
Koyama Temple?
My brain didn't react for a moment. Why would I go to Gaoshan Temple for any reason?
After saying this, my cousin ignored me and went to his room to pack his things.
I sat on the sofa for a while and then I remembered about the soul-returning bead.
"If you're hungry, eat first. You guys don't have much food anyway." Dong Jing came out of the kitchen with food.
Judging from her appearance, she seems to be going along with us.
It’s nothing, as there are more people on the road, so it’s less boring.
In addition, my cousin and I are both men, so we don’t think about many things carefully enough.
It would be good to have a girl with us, she can help us take care of everything on the way.
Since the food was already prepared and hot, of course I ate first before cleaning up.
Just as Dong Jing said, I'm a boy and I don't have much stuff, so it only took me half an hour to pack it up.
"Let's go to the funeral shop tomorrow morning and buy all the things we need, so that we don't run out of things when we need them on the road."
After saying this, my cousin closed the door and went to sleep.
For a moment I didn't understand what he meant.
Isn't it just a trip to Koshan Temple? It's a place that can be reached by car, so why do we need to prepare all those things for the road?
But it makes sense. If there is any accident or someone comes to life, we will still have something to deal with it.
The next morning, I called Lin Mu.
I told him that I wouldn't be in the city recently. He wanted to ask, but I changed the subject and he didn't say anything.
It’s better for him not to know some things, at least there are people watching over the company.
My cousin drove us to the funeral shop. While I was adding things to my treasure bag, he went to the grocery store in the next alley.
When he came back, he was holding a black plastic bag with a lot of things in it.
There are black sesame seeds, black glutinous rice, and some grains, which are what we need to expel the evil spirits in our daily life.
"Don't look down on these little gadgets, they can help us a lot, you should know that. And if we are hungry on the road , we can cook some porridge made from whole grains." My cousin smiled, and I didn't know what he was happy about.
I always felt that this trip was more like a spring outing, and he didn't see any danger.
"Are you going on a trip or to Koshan Temple?" I said disdainfully.
"Isn't it all the same? Go for an outing in spring, the sky is high and the air is fresh ." My cousin chuckled and drove us on the road again.
The car was driving further and further away, and I had no idea where it was going.
Halfway through the navigation, the navigation function no longer exists.
I woke up from my sleep and it seemed that his car couldn't find the way.
I curled my lips: "What kind of broken car is this?"
When I mentioned his car, my cousin got upset: "What a crappy car! What a crappy place! There's no signal."
Only then did I turn around and look, what is this place? !
All I could see was a patch of grass with a road in the middle, but I had no idea where it led to.
The trees on the left side grow on the edge of the cliff. The road has many corners and is very winding.
If one is not careful or the driver falls asleep, it is easy for the car and the people involved to roll off the cliff together.
"What is this place?"
Only then did I feel anxious and couldn't help but ask a question.
My cousin frowned and said, "This is the way to Gaoshan Temple, but I don't know if we are lost."
What do you mean you don't know if we are lost?
Isn't this the car you drive?
I looked at my cousin without saying anything, but my eyes were full of questioning.
"You can't blame me for the navigation getting here. It's also not my fault for the navigation losing signal after getting here."
My cousin's expression was innocent. He muttered, "If you have the ability, go ahead and drive..."
???
I was instantly furious.
"Now what?"
Dong Jing, who had been silent the whole time, suddenly said, "Stop arguing. Now is not the time to argue. There is only one road. The navigation should be correct. Let's drive forward. We can't reverse anyway."
"Yeah, at worst, when we reach the end of the road, we can just slowly go back."
My cousin lit a cigarette, opened all the car windows, and then the car slowly moved forward.
He was actually quite tired after driving all day, and lighting a cigarette just helped him to liven up his mood.
I sighed. There was nothing I could do. This was the only way .
The car kept driving forward and came to a fork in the road.
My cousin turned his head and looked at me in the passenger seat, obviously asking me where I was going.
This is my first time here, and I haven’t checked the navigation before, let alone looked at a map before coming.
I really couldn't tell left or right, so my cousin and I could only look at each other in confusion.
“Oh my…”
“Oh my…”
Just when we didn't know which way to go, a wailing sound suddenly came from not far away.
The three of us looked towards the direction where the wailing was coming from almost at the same time.
"Let's get out of the car and take a look. Maybe someone is injured." Dong Jing said, opened the car door and jumped out.
I looked around here, and there was no one else except us, especially no evil aura.
But it seems that I was worrying too much. There was no evil air at all in broad daylight.
We got out of the car and walked towards the sound, and saw a man about my age sitting on the ground with an injured foot and a pale face.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked softly.
The man heard a voice and looked up quickly.
After seeing us, his face fell and he almost cried.
"I was going to Takayama Temple, but my car broke down on the way, so I had to call a tow truck to take it away. But I had no choice but to rush to Takayama Temple, so I had to walk. But I never expected to be attacked by a poisonous snake on the way. I thought I was going to die. I didn't expect to meet a few living people. Please save me."
The man had a sad face and looked extremely scared.
In addition, the snake venom had already spread from his ankle to his calf. If he moved and his blood circulation improved, he would be dead in less than half an hour.
But none of us is a doctor, and even if there was a doctor, as far as I know, after being poisoned by a snake, serum is needed to remove the toxins from the body.
This really left us at a loss. We just stood on the side of the road watching, not knowing what to do.
