Chapter 9: Emotional Arousal 4
Since he was already here, Han Shao was of course ready to go meet his parents this weekend. However, when the car drove downstairs of the community, the man suddenly became nervous.
"Should I go buy a new set of clothes now? I've been wearing this coat for two days. Isn't that rude?"
"I didn't expect to go to your house when I came here. I didn't buy anything. This shouldn't be a good idea."
"Will your parents think I'm too old..."
Weekend burst out laughing. Seeing this usually steady and mature man panicking about meeting her parents, she couldn't help but feel her heart swell slightly. Being valued by others must give you such a happy feeling, right?
"My parents are very nice people, and they're not too serious, so you don't have to be nervous. Just come upstairs with me."
Although he said this on the weekend, Han Shao was still worried, so he walked around downstairs in the community. When he appeared again, he was holding a lot of bags in his hands.
"It's never good to go empty-handed." Han Shao smiled at her.
Weekend's family lives in a residential area that was newly built in Town A a few years ago. Although it is quite ordinary, it is well-landscaped and has basic fitness equipment, so it is suitable for the elderly to live in. Along the way, Han Shao followed Weekend with a lot of bags. When the girl rang the doorbell, Zhou's father and mother appeared in front of them.
"Mom and Dad, I'm back!" Weekend opened his arms and gave each of his parents a hug. Han Shao stood straight behind him. When he saw them, he was the first to greet them: "Uncle and aunt, hello, I'm Han Shao."
"Hello." Zhou's mother is a middle school teacher. She wears a pair of glasses and looks a little confused. "You are Momo's classmate, right?" Then she shifted her eyes to Weekend, whose cheeks blushed.
"Hello, auntie. I'm your boyfriend for the weekend." Han Shao said seriously.
Mr. Zhou, who was holding a newspaper, said: “!”
Mother Zhou was also surprised.
Weekend didn't expect Han Shao to be so straightforward, and suddenly she became nervous. But no matter how nervous she was, she couldn't just stand at the door and talk, so she quickly led him in and solemnly introduced him, "Well, Dad, Mom, this is my boyfriend, Han Shao."
"Boyfriend..." Mother Zhou was still a little confused. She had never heard Weekend say that she was in a relationship, and she was a little surprised that she suddenly brought a boyfriend home today. But despite her surprise, she still warmly entertained Han Shao: "Xiao Han, right? Are you Momo's classmate or..."
"I'm a few years older than Weekend, so I guess I can be considered Weekend's senior." Han Shao answered seriously.
The atmosphere was very awkward for a while, but fortunately Han Shao got over the initial panic and, seeing the chessboard and literary books everywhere in the house, he suggested playing a game of chess with Zhou's father, and also chatted with Zhou's mother about some celebrity anecdotes. The atmosphere at home gradually improved.
Because it was getting late, Han Shao stayed for a while and then left to go back to the hotel. Before going to bed at night, Weekend went to see her mother to find out how she felt about Han Shao. Because in her heart, she cared a lot about her parents' opinions. She didn't want to find a boyfriend that her parents didn't like. This would not be a good thing for her and Han Shao.
"Silly child, your boyfriend is so outstanding, of course your father and I like him, the most important thing is that you like him." The mother held her hand and couldn't stop looking at her. The daughter in front of her had grown into a big girl without knowing it, but growing into a big girl meant that she was going to get married.
"Mom just feels that time goes by too fast. I always feel that our child Momo has not grown up yet..." Mother Zhou said, her voice choking with sobs.
The weekend was also a bit uncomfortable. She was a delicate and sensitive person. She knew that her mother loved her, so she quickly hugged her mother and said with a smile: "Oh, Mom, otherwise I don't want a boyfriend and just stay at home with you and Dad."
"What nonsense are you talking about." Mother Zhou tapped Weekend's hand, "I think Xiao Han is a good person, good-looking, calm and sensible."
Weekend immediately pouted: "Is it okay to have me? Mom, you can't be partial so early."
The mother and daughter laughed together in the end. The night outside the window was as dark as ink, and even in her sleep on this weekend night, her smile never fell.
During the three days in Town A, Weekend took Han Shao to visit all the attractions here. She took him to the junior high school and high school where she spent her teenage years, and also took him to the old house where she used to live. The old house is now empty and will be demolished and rebuilt in a few months. Weekend had never thought that there would be such a day, taking her beloved to walk these roads that she had walked countless times. This feeling was very strange, as if there was no long time between them when they had not met.
These old roads and old times seemed to be just sinking in the long river of time, waiting for them to meet one day, so that they could turn them out and enjoy them. Weekend was especially grateful to God for letting her meet Han Shao, otherwise she would not know that there would be such small beauties in the world.
On the last day, Weekend had to go back to school to take an exam. Han Shao came to the house for dinner that day. After dinner, he helped Zhou's mother clean up the dishes. After washing the dishes, he and Weekend helped clean the house again. Finally, they cleaned the house and left Zhou's house with Weekend.
"My performance these days has been okay, right?" Han Shao asked while helping Weekend fasten his seat belt before departure.
"More than okay, my parents almost treat you as their own son." Weekend's tone was sour, but there was a bright smile on her face.
"Really? Is it so good that you're jealous?" Han Shao reached out and pinched her delicate nose.
"Of course it's true. My dad is a terrible chess player who likes to regret his moves and has a bad temper. It's hard for him to find chess friends. You've been accompanying him to play chess every day these days. All the old men in the community have a new respect for my dad. How can he not be happy? And my mom, usually those old ladies talk about things like the price of vegetables going up today or whose child will be able to walk tomorrow. No one talks to her about books. She must be so happy that you can talk to her..."
"What about you?" Han Shao suddenly asked before Weekend had finished speaking.
"What?"
"What about you? Are you happy?" Han Shao sat in the driver's seat, looking at Weekend seriously, "I've been busy trying to please your parents these past few days. Have I neglected you?"
I was speechless for a moment on the weekend.
She thought quietly, Han Shao had indeed taken good care of her parents these past few days, but he did not ignore her as he said. When she could not walk with her bags, when her neck was stiff from reading for too long, when she forgot the time and her tea had grown cold... it was all Han Shao who helped her carry things, massaged her shoulders attentively, provided her with hot water without interruption, and never left the fruit plate empty... He did all of this, so how could he have ignored her?
Weekend smiled: "You didn't ignore me."
"What?"
"I said, you are very good to me and to my parents, I..." Weekend said this and her face blushed slightly, "I like you very much." After saying that, she quickly turned her head to look out the window, and the heat on her face spread from her face to the roots of her ears.
A big hand suddenly covered her eyes. Weekend turned her head and saw Han Shao looking at her affectionately. When their eyes met, he lowered his head and kissed her on the lips.
"I like you too."
