Chapter 8: Rival in Love 4
On the day Han Shao held his art exhibition, Weekend got up very early, but the strange thing was that even though she had gotten up at seven o'clock, Lu Xiao, who was in the next bed, seemed to have gotten up earlier than her. He was nowhere to be seen early in the morning, and the bed was neatly made. When Weekend was wondering about this, she received a call from Han Shao.
"Are you awake?" As soon as she picked up the phone, she heard Han Shao's low and gentle voice, and Weekend couldn't help blushing.
"Yes."
"Then come early, I'll wait for you."
Han Shao hung up the phone. Weekend held the phone in her hand, stunned for a moment, and then she covered her red face. Ever since she knew he was silent, she could take almost every word he said into the second dimension. The man's voice was so nice, especially every time he spoke to her gently, Weekend felt like she couldn't breathe.
After being in a daze for a while, Weekend came to his senses, quickly packed up and washed up, and went to the address indicated on the ticket.
But when I arrived at the place on the weekend, I found that the exhibition site was very deserted. This was a semi-basement in the Art Building of H University. The outside of the basement was covered with green ivy and various plants. Because there was an exhibition today, extremely beautiful roses were placed at the door. The warm sunlight shining down made the semi-basement look literary and elegant.
Weekend looked around and found that the door of the semi-basement was open. She took two steps inside and suddenly, cheers rang in her ears!
“Happy birthday, weekend!”
Suddenly, a lot of people jumped out from nowhere in front of me, stood in front of me and held up a banner that read "Happy Birthday to you". Countless media also rushed in from outside and started taking pictures of Weekend.
Just when Weekend couldn't react in time, Lu Xiao came out of the crowd holding a cake, with a blessing smile on his cute face: "Happy birthday, Weekend!"
Weekend looked at everyone in surprise and moved. Today was her birthday, so of course she remembered it. She was just thinking that Han Shao was going to hold an art exhibition, so she would wait until after the exhibition before telling Han Shao. Unexpectedly, he actually gave her a surprise.
"Weekend," just when Weekend was so moved that she couldn't control herself, she suddenly heard a gentle and pleasant voice in her ears. Weekend turned around and saw Han Shao standing beside her, "Lower your head."
"Hmm?" Weekend was puzzled, but still lowered her head obediently. The next second, a dazzling light fell into Weekend's eyes - Han Shao put a necklace inlaid with star flowers on her neck.
"This..." Weekend looked down and was shocked.
This is not an ordinary necklace, it is clearly a gemstone necklace inlaid with diamonds! The star in the middle is a pure ruby, and the surroundings of the star are petals carved out of diamonds, and the entire necklace is inlaid with broken diamonds!
"This is too valuable! Han Shao!" Weekend was about to take off the necklace, but was stopped by the man.
The gentle man gently held Weekend's hand, his tone gentle but unconditional: "This is a gift from me to you. It is the most suitable one I can think of. If you don't accept it," Han Shao gestured to Weekend, leaned close to her ear and whispered with a smile, "There are so many people watching, and there are also news media. You won't embarrass me, right?"
Weekend blushed at the words, and she looked at Han Shao and had no choice but to accept the necklace. Han Shao then smiled with satisfaction.
"Come, I'll show you my paintings." Han Shao took Weekend's hand, parted the crowd, and took her to walk through the decorated studio corridor. The small studio was decorated in a modern style by Han Shao, and his paintings over the years were hung on the dark gray glass walls. People dispersed to appreciate the exhibition, and Han Shao took Weekend to walk through the exhibition.
Compared to the art exhibition that Lu Xiao and I went to last time, Han Shao's paintings didn't seem difficult to understand on the weekend.
The man seems to have a rich and soft inner world, a world full of brilliance and hope, very much like him. Every painting seems to tell the world his full love and warmth for life.
Just like the picture in front of you, a girl walking in the slums, everything around her is black and white , except for the ragged girl with two pigtails walking in the poor residential area. The eyes of the people on both sides are full of despair and deep sadness. Only the girl, holding a loaf of bread in her hand, is exchanging a bouquet of flowers from the owner of the flower shop on the corner.
In the whole painting, only the girl and the flowers in the shopkeeper's hands are brightly colored. The girl has a pure and defenseless smile on her face. She is like a bright light in this desperate world, illuminating this hopeless world and even people's hearts.
The author wrote a footnote in the lower right corner of the painting: The light in the darkness is hope.
Weekend likes this kind of painting very much. Compared with those postmodern styles and abstract styles...she prefers this warm and delicate way of expression, which is straightforward, reflective, but gentle.
"I can understand your paintings." After admiring them, Weekend whispered to Han Shao.
"Really?" Han Shao looked at her with interest.
"Well, because you have footnotes." For some reason, Weekend always felt like a pure little girl in front of Han Shao. It seemed that no matter what she did or said, he would always see through her at a glance.
"If I don't annotate my paintings, a hundred people will have a hundred different ways of understanding them." Han Shao touched Weekend's head. He always liked to touch her like this, as if she was always a child who would never grow up in front of him. "But today, I hope that what you understand is consistent with what I want to express."
"Huh?" Weekend was stunned.
"I hope you can understand everything about me." Han Shao leaned down and looked at Weekend with a smile in his eyes. He stretched out his index finger and gently scratched the tip of her nose. Weekend's face turned red.
"What, what..." She ran away shyly. Seeing her like this, Han Shao couldn't help but straighten up and smiled indulgently.
Weekend looked along the way, and when she reached the center of the last art exhibition, she suddenly saw her own name. She turned back in surprise, and Han Shao walked up to her.
“It’s a charity fund.”
"Huh?" Weekend looked at him puzzledly.
Han Shao took her to the transparent glass box in the center of the exhibition and said, "Today is your birthday. I held this exhibition especially for you. I thought about it for a long time, what kind of birthday should I give you to be sincere, so I thought of this."
Han Shao pointed to the words "Weekend Charity Fund" on the glass box and said, "I have set up a charity foundation specifically for you. All of my paintings on display here today will be auctioned off, and all the proceeds from the auction will be put into this fund. You can donate it to the mountainous areas, or use it for other charitable activities. In short, this fund belongs to you , and from now on, all the proceeds from the auction of my paintings will also belong to you."
Weekend's eyes became moist, and for a moment, she didn't know what to say. She could only bury her head in Han Shao's arms with gratitude. Han Shao hugged her and stroked her hair, but asked carefully and seriously: "So Weekend, are you... still angry?"
"What?"
"I am silent." Han Shao seemed to be concerned whether Weekend was still upset about what happened at that time. "Now... can you accept that I am silent? I mean, Weekend, are you still angry with me? Forgive me, okay?"
Han Shao looked at her eagerly, as if this was a very important matter to him. Instantly, Weekend's heart softened, she lowered her head, revealing her elegant neck, and whispered, "I'm not angry."
"Then you can accept..."
"I accept." Without waiting for Han Shao to finish, Weekend raised his head, looked directly at the man, and said firmly and softly.
At this moment, even Weekend herself did not realize that her heart had already completely belonged to Han Shao...
After the birthday party, Weekend had an extremely sweet dream. In the dream, she seemed to be with Han Shao. A gentle and elegant man proposed to her on one knee with a diamond ring as big as a pigeon egg in his hand. The surroundings were filled with the fragrance of flowers. When Han Shao asked her "Are you willing to marry me?", Weekend was suddenly awakened by a loud scream!
"Weekend! Weekend! Weekend!" Lu Xiao jumped onto Weekend's bed and woke her up.
Weekend barely opened her eyes and saw Lu Xiao's big face in front of her.
"Lu Xiao, what are you doing?" Weekend was startled and was about to lie down again.
"Hey, don't sleep! There is important news!" Lu Xiao pulled Weekend's quilt over, and the 6-inch mobile phone screen appeared directly in front of Weekend - Han Shao, a talented painter from H University, hired someone to write for him to defraud charity funds and make money!
Weekend's eyes widened instantly. She sat up from the bed and asked Lu Xiao: "What on earth is going on?"
Why would Han Shao ask someone to write for him?
