Chapter 8: Rival in Love 2
The birthday was approaching at the weekend, and in order to give the girl a surprise, Han Shao drove to his former studio alone.
His studio is in the basement of the Art Building of H University, surrounded by green grass, a relatively secluded place. Han Shao stood outside the door of his former studio, looking at the rusty iron door covered with creepers, and his handsome eyebrows slightly wrinkled.
Three years have passed, and he has never returned here since that incident.
Han Shao stroked the dusty key in his hand. It was the key to the studio. Back then, because of his talent, the school directly gave him this studio. Everything seemed to be the same as before. Time had not left any traces here. Except for dust and rust, nothing else had changed.
Han Shao took a few deep breaths and then slowly walked towards the studio. He inserted the key into the lock and turned it twice. With a clang, the iron door opened.
Han Shao stood at the door of the studio against the light, with the sunlight pouring in from behind him. The room was full of dust. No one had been here in three years. Paints that had long been dried and various kinds of drawing papers were scattered around. Dust-covered easels were scattered around the studio. Under the sunlight from the window, it seemed like a forgotten mysterious corner.
Han Shao stood at the door for a long time before he bent down and went in. He began to clean up the place. The studio was not big, but not small either. It was a full 100 square meters, all for him to use. When he was still in school, he almost slept in the studio, so there was a mattress not far away by the window.
The mattress had a hole in it, and when Han Shao was tidying it up, something suddenly fell out of the mattress, reflecting the sunlight and blinding Han Shao's eyes. The man squatted down to pick it up, and then he saw clearly that it was a bracelet inlaid with broken diamonds.
He had given this bracelet to Lin Jinyu. He still remembered that he had spent a week in the studio working day and night to create this bracelet. When he finally exchanged his painting for the bracelet, he didn't expect that something like this would happen...
Han Shao brushed off the dust on the bracelet, and the broken diamonds sparkled in the sunlight. Then Han Shao heard a sound.
"Long time no see, Han Shao."
The clear and beautiful voice in my memory now sounded like a lifetime ago. Han Shao turned around and saw Lin Jinyu standing in the light and shadow. He had heard that she would return to China soon, but he didn't expect to meet her in such a situation.
As expected of a model, after a few years, the girl has long lost her childishness, and now she is mature and beautiful. She is wearing a neat white suit, a high ponytail, and silver hoop earrings hanging on the side of her ears. She is fashionable and elegant, and is very different from the cute and beautiful Lin Jinyu three years ago.
Han Shao frowned slightly: "You're back."
There was no warmth or greetings, just a faint indifference.
Lin Jinyu, who was originally smiling, could not help but frown, then smiled again and said, "I'm back, aren't you happy?"
Han Shao looked at her expressionlessly: "There is no relationship between you and me anymore. Whether you come back or not is irrelevant to me. It doesn't matter whether I am happy or not."
"Han Shao..." Lin Jinyu's expression turned cold. She looked at Han Shao with ice in her eyes. "What do you mean?"
"I don't mean anything." Han Shao put the diamond bracelet aside indifferently and went to pack other things. "We broke up three years ago. You shouldn't have come to see me."
"How can you be like this!"
Lin Jinyu was obviously very angry at his attitude and could not help but walk towards Han Shao. She stood in front of Han Shao and the man looked up at her. It seemed that time had not played any role on Han Shao. He was still as gentle and kind as the boy he was back then, with clear features and noble temperament.
During the past few years abroad, Lin Jinyu regretted her original decision all the time. After experiencing the so-called glitz and glamour, what she missed most in her heart was still the tenderness of Han Shao when he was young.
"I regret it." Lin Jinyu stood in front of Han Shao and looked straight into his eyes. "Han Shao, I want to start over with you."
No one expected Lin Jinyu to be so frank, not even Han Shao. He was slightly surprised, but soon calmed down. He is no longer the young boy he was back then, and he will not get emotional because of other people's childishness.
"But I don't want to." Han Shao ignored her and turned to do something else. However, Lin Jinyu caught up with him again and waved her hand to knock Han Shao's hand away from picking up the paint can.
"Han Shao, I've already bowed my head, don't push your luck."
The air seemed to be silent for a second, and then Han Shao turned around and looked at Lin Jinyu expressionlessly: "Please leave here."
"What?"
"Please leave here." There was a hint of impatience in Han Shao's tone.
Lin Jinyu looked at him in disbelief: "Han Shao, do you know how much courage it took for me to come here? Yes, you were in trouble at the beginning, and I left without saying goodbye. It was my fault, but I admit my mistake, and I'm back now, right? What else do you want? I've been so humble..."
"You are so humble?" The man interrupted her with a cold voice.
Lin Jinyu looked up and saw Han Shao looking at her with extremely cold eyes: "From the time you entered the door until now, have you ever been humble?" Han Shao seemed to smile, "I may have forgotten that you, Lin Jinyu, have been the school belle since childhood. You are the red rose in the eyes of others and the goddess in everyone's heart. It is harder than climbing to the sky to make you, who is proud and arrogant, humble yourself."
"Han Shao!" Lin Jinyu's face turned red because of what he said, and she didn't know whether she was angry or embarrassed.
"Three years ago..." Han Shao narrowed his eyes and looked at her. His gentle face was colder than ever before. "What did you tell me? You forgot, but I didn't."
"Han Shao ..." A trace of panic finally appeared on Lin Jinyu's delicate face.
However, Han Shao still said it: "You say, Han Shao, it's not that I don't care about the relationship between us, it's just that reality is too cruel. Please don't wait for me anymore, and I won't look back."
After saying that, Han Shao looked at Lin Jinyu's pale face, and a sneer appeared on the corner of his mouth: "Now, do you still want to start over with me?"
After hurting him completely, after abandoning him mercilessly...she still wanted to win him back. What did she think he was? Did she think he would always be there waiting for her?
That's ridiculous.
What's more, he had already met the person destined for him, the one who was like a bright light in the darkness, pulling him out and giving him a new life... His heart had long been tied to that person, and no matter who came, it would not be able to shake him in the slightest.
Although Han Shao looked easy to talk to, he was actually an extremely stubborn person. Once he made up his mind, he would never change his mind. He had already severed his relationship with Lin Jinyu, so he would never go back no matter what.
"You...you have changed..." Lin Jinyu looked at him with changing eyes.
"The one who changed is not me, but you. Or rather, I just saw the real you." Seeing that the studio was almost tidied up, Han Shao was about to leave, but was grabbed by Lin Jinyu.
"Han Shao!" The girl looked at him with tears in her eyes, "You can't do this to me!"
Han Shao turned around and took Lin Jinyu's hand away from his arm. He looked at her with distant eyes and said coldly: "Ms. Lin, please respect yourself. Also, please keep your promise and don't look back."
"You..." Lin Jinyu had never expected this to be the outcome today. She took several steps back and looked at the man opposite her with tearful eyes, "Are you serious?"
"I never tell lies." Han Shao said and was about to leave.
"Is it because you have someone you like?" Just as Han Shao was about to leave the studio, Lin Jinyu suddenly shouted from behind. She wiped away her tears, suppressed her anger and came to Han Shao, looking up at him: "Have you fallen in love with someone else?"
Weekend's face instantly appeared in front of Han Shao. The man's eyes, which had been cold all the time, suddenly showed some warmth, but he quickly covered it up. He looked at Lin Jinyu coldly and frowned, saying, "It has nothing to do with you."
"That's it . You already have someone you like, so you don't want to get back together with me, right?" Lin Jinyu saw the warmth in Han Shao's eyes just now. She said jealously, "If it weren't for the fact that you already have someone you like..."
"Whether I have someone I like or not ," Han Shao interrupted her, seeming a little impatient, "There is absolutely no possibility for you and me."
Lin Jinyu looked at the man in front of her desperately, but the man didn't even look at her and brushed past her. The delicate and beautiful woman stood in the newly cleaned studio, in the sunlight with tiny dust flying, she watched the tall figure of the cold man disappear in the backlight, and a line of tears flowed down her face.
But soon, she wiped away her tears, raised her head, and said coldly: "Han Shao, you will regret it!"
Han Shao rushed to Moonlight Radio Station after coming out of the studio. He called Weekend and waited for her in the park near the radio station. Weekend came soon. The girl wore a light white chiffon dress, her long hair was loose, and her white canvas shoes showed her smooth ankles and calves. She walked towards him with a faint smile, and the sunlight shone through the gaps in the leaves on her fair face, like a naughty elf or a pure angel.
Han Shao's heart, which was annoyed by Lin Jinyu, soon calmed down when he saw the weekend.
"What's the matter? Why are you calling me out in such a hurry?" Weekend walked up to Han Shao and asked softly.
"Nothing." Han Shao smiled and pulled Weekend to sit on a bench in the park. "Have you eaten?"
Weekend shook her head and she looked at him: "What's wrong with you? You don't look happy."
Han Shao raised his eyebrows slightly: "Can you tell that I'm unhappy?"
"Your eyebrows..." Weekend pointed, looking a little worried, "From the first time I saw them, they were frowned. What happened?"
The girl's tone was a little anxious. She really cared about him. Han Shao couldn't help but feel a little warm in his heart. He touched Weekend's head and said, "You saw through me. I did encounter some unpleasant things."
"What's wrong?" Weekend asked with concern.
"It's not a big deal." Han Shao didn't want to be unhappy over the weekend because of Lin Jinyu's affairs, so he changed the subject and said, "I bought some puffs, ice cream flavored, do you want some?" He always knew her favorite flavor.
Seeing that Han Shao was unwilling to talk, Weekend had to give up and said, "Okay, I haven't had lunch yet."
Han Shao took out the puffs and cream cakes he had bought in advance from the car and brought them to Weekend: "I'm sorry, I called you out when I was in a bad mood and asked you to have lunch with me in the park."
"It's okay." Weekend waved his hand, "I just didn't know what to eat for lunch, and you bought it, so I don't have to worry about it!"
"When you're with Lu Xiao, do you always struggle over what to eat for lunch?" Han Shao couldn't help but tease. The implication was that Lu Xiao, a little foodie, shouldn't be picky about food.
“You’re probably not my biological cousin, right?” Weekend smiled and opened the puff and took a bite, then immediately stood up for Lu Xiao, “Although we like it more, we are also picky, okay? You can’t insult our ‘important event in life’ like this!”
Han Shao was amused by Weekend's words and started laughing. He looked at her and said softly, "How about I take care of your lunch from now on?"
"Huh?" Weekend turned around and looked at him in confusion.
Han Shao smiled gently and patted her head lovingly: "From now on, I will order food for you every noon. If you need to have a meal with your colleagues, please tell me in advance. I hope I can make you feel very satisfied."
“Actually…” Weekend stuttered, seeming a little flattered.
"Don't refuse me, otherwise I will be in a bad mood when I work." Han Shao looked at her with amusement.
"Hey!" Weekend's face instantly turned red! The trailer and promotion of the radio drama have been sent out! But such a protagonist can't act like a big shot!
"Just kidding." Han Shao thought she looked so cute that he couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"I'm not going to pay attention to you!" Weekend stood up with a red face, stuffed the things into Han Shao's arms, and prepared to leave. But she never expected to be pulled from behind, and when she reacted, she was already gently hugged.
"Thank you, weekend."
The man whispered in her ear. The breeze blew by, and Weekend seemed to hear an elf whispering. His voice was low and soothing, and every word seemed to touch her heartstrings.
"Meeting you is the greatest luck in my life."
