Chapter 74 Water Curtain Cave
The water monkey pulled me into the water.
It was diving so fast that I couldn't even open my eyes.
I reached into my pocket and the glass bead felt hot in my palm.
I don’t know how long it took, but I felt that the water flow was not so fast anymore. I guess we were almost reaching our destination, and there was still more than half of the oxygen left in my chest.
I suddenly felt a chill on my back, as if there was some wind blowing.
But I'm in the pond, how could there be wind?
I opened my eyes anxiously, only to find that I had reached the shore of the pond.
I didn't know there was a bank under the pond. I guessed that there should be something like a sewer under the pond.
As long as I put the glass beads into a small golden tripod next to the sewer, the sewer will open the door for us to escape.
But this is just my imagination.
Faced with the world below the pond, I was a little overwhelmed.
I sat on the shore, my mind racing with thoughts about what to do next.
The little water monkey whose head I touched just now suddenly popped its face out of the pond. Its eyes were bright but there was no malice in them, which made me feel relieved.
Seeing that I was not aggressive towards them, the other water monkeys slowly emerged from the pond.
There was a howl from behind me.
This howl is not a sound that these water monkeys can make.
I turned my head in the direction of the sound and saw a giant monkey that was hundreds of times bigger than me.
It was obvious that this big monkey was the king of these water monkeys. After hearing its howl, everyone came out of the pond and knelt down before it.
I rubbed my eyes before I could see clearly that this monkey should be a hairy ape.
It doesn't look much like the water monkeys and seems smarter.
The hairy ape walked towards me. It was so huge that the ground shook slightly with every step it took.
It was getting closer and closer to me, and I saw that behind it was a palace.
It’s just like the Water Curtain Cave in Journey to the West.
At the gate of the palace, there is a constant flow of water.
And at the entrance, there were actually two monkeys standing, also long-haired apes.
But those two monkeys were not as big as the one in front of me.
One of them was wearing a crown with golden feathers on both sides of the crown. He should be the heir.
The other one has red feathers on both sides of his crown, and he is probably also the offspring of the Monkey King, but he only has a title and no real power.
The Monkey King squatted down in front of me, lifted my chin with his dirty paws, then looked at me and took a deep breath.
At this moment, my heart suddenly rose to my throat.
I don't know what it will do next, or whether it will hurt me.
But it is obvious that I judge others by my own standards.
The Monkey King didn't intend to do anything to me at all. After he stood up, he turned around and went back to his palace .
The water monkeys kneeling behind me suddenly all stood up, and they surrounded me and walked towards the Monkey King's palace.
After entering the palace, I was assigned a seat by the water monkeys.
Not long after, they brought various fruits and placed them in front of me.
Then I realized that this is why they don't eat humans.
Because at the bottom of the pond, there is a place where all kinds of fruits and vegetables are grown.
They eat fish only to supplement protein, and the big pond above is just a place for them to play.
I didn’t dare eat the fresh fruits brought by the water monkeys. After all, I had to leave here and my cousin was waiting for me. I was afraid of getting an upset stomach.
But not only the water monkeys, but even the Monkey King was watching over me at this time.
I gritted my teeth, picked up a small date and put it in my mouth.
To be honest, after working all night, I was actually hungry.
But now my mind is full of thoughts about how to find the exit. In less than half an hour, it will be dawn outside.
I looked around in the Water Curtain Cave, trying to find an excuse to leave.
And I found that there was a small golden tripod behind the heir.
Before I went into the water, my cousin told me that after finding the golden tripod, we could put the glass beads inside the golden tripod and leave here.
Perhaps sensing my burning gaze, the heir suddenly looked up.
We looked at each other, and I swallowed subconsciously.
I am scared.
Because I don't know their temper.
After all, they are just beasts. If my snooping makes them unhappy, they will probably tear me to pieces in a minute.
At this moment, the heir suddenly stood up.
It followed my gaze and looked behind it, and saw that I was staring at its small golden tripod.
That thing is like its treasure, otherwise it would not be placed on the high platform behind it.
It took the small golden tripod down from the platform, and its action obviously attracted the attention of the Monkey King.
The Monkey King bared his teeth instantly and reached out to hit it.
The heir was frightened by the Monkey King and started screaming. He jumped up holding the little golden top to avoid being beaten and scolded by the Monkey King.
It ran to my side as fast as it could, then grabbed my hand holding the glass bead and forced me to put the glass bead into the small golden tripod.
Before I could figure out what was going on, the glass bead had already fallen into the small golden tripod.
Then I felt dizzy, and then my vision went dark and I lost consciousness.
When I woke up again, I was already at the construction site.
My cousin was also lying next to me. He had no shirt on and his whole body was purple from the cold.
There were also wounds on the back.
I thought I had a very long dream, but now it seems that’s not the case.
I took off my coat and covered my cousin with it. He was weak after being injured and might not wake up so quickly.
I sat beside him and watched over him. By this time, the sky was about to dawn.
I breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, I came back in time, otherwise my cousin and I would have been trapped in the Nine-Ring System.
I thought carefully about what had just happened, and it didn't seem like I had done it alone.
But my memory seemed to be missing a piece, and I couldn't remember who helped me.
My cousin slowly woke up and kept coughing beside me until he spat out a mouthful of black blood.
"Cough cough... ugh... Oh my god, it hurts so much."
My cousin got up and saw that he had clothes on. He quickly put them on, cursing as he did so: "I'm freezing."
I looked at my cousin. After spitting out the black blood, he should be fine.
"Were you the one who found the little golden tripod just now?" My cousin's voice was a little weak, and his eyes could not find the focus.
I was stunned for a moment. Although my cousin was not traveling with me, he seemed to know everything.
