Chapter 71 Lamb (Part 2)
"How much is this lamb?"
"Ah?" The vendor raised his head and looked at Gu Yi in confusion. "What do you know as a little kid? Go back now. If you want to buy something, you should ask your parents to come and buy it, right?"
Do I need my parents’ consent to buy a sheep?
Gu Yi was stunned for a moment and looked around.
All the customers asking prices here were a little older than him. Gu Yi was silent for a moment, then lowered his head and ran out of the market.
"It seems we need to change our approach."
Gu Yi bought a baseball cap and a mask at the market entrance and squatted on the roadside waiting silently.
You may have your own neighbors in the market.
Since the adults in the town are so taboo about the sale of mutton, it is very likely that my parents will know when I appear at the market. Although I don't know what the consequences of doing so will be, it will definitely increase the difficulty of passing the customs.
Gu Yi drank a sip of almond water out of boredom, and just in time he saw a family leaving with a lamb.
If I'm not mistaken, that lamb is the one that tried to escape just now.
Gu Yi closed his eyes.
(Deduction begins!)
(You put on your mask, lowered your hat, and followed.)
(The couple put the lamb in the trunk and drove away. You quickly followed them on your bike.)
(The buyer's home is near your school. After parking the car, the buyer and his wife carried the lamb out.)
(The lamb landed on all fours, bleating, and struggled to break free from the ropes on its hooves.)
(The wife cursed, but was knocked to the ground by the lamb.)
(The husband took out a shovel from the yard and hit the lamb on the head. The lamb pushed hard and broke its horn, knocking the shovel away.)
(The lamb raised its front hoof, kicked the husband in the chest, and ran out of the yard in a few jumps.)
(The buyer and his wife screamed loudly.)
(The lamb is running towards you in a panic, so you quickly push the bike aside. The lamb is very fast, and you probably won’t be able to catch up with it if you don’t ride your bike.)
(The buyer couple saw you and scolded you for not stopping them.)
(You said nothing and rode your bike around the couple.)
(You took a shortcut and caught up with the lamb.)
(The couple's car blocked the lamb's escape route first, and the lamb jumped over the front of the car and ran towards the town entrance.)
(The husband rolled down the window and shouted for help. The neighbors heard the noise and rode their electric donkeys to help catch the sheep.)
(Soon, half the residents of the street ran out.)
(You wonder why a sheep is worth so much trouble?)
(The lamb ran into the woods, and the inhabitants followed him.)
(You didn’t hesitate and rode into the woods.)
(The bike was hard to ride in the mud, so you left it alone.)
(Residents shout.)
(A: "Go look over there!")
(B: "This forest is not big. It can't get out.")
(C: "You can leave the town from the west. A few of you go block the exit over there, and the rest of you follow me into the woods to search.")
(You follow the sheep's hoof prints to find the lamb.)
(When you reach the center of the forest, you find that the sheep's hoof prints are hard to follow. The voices of the surrounding residents have also become quieter. It seems that they are not going to search anymore. As long as the exit is blocked, the sheep will have nowhere to escape.)
(You didn't give up, you kept searching.)
(About ten minutes later, you spot the lamb behind a bunch of bushes .)
(Its body was covered with wounds and one of its horns was broken off.)
(You try to get closer to the lamb.)
(The lamb immediately stands up and points its broken horns at you.)
(You take two steps back.)
(You: “I’m here to help you leave.”)
(The lamb tilts its head and looks at you.)
(You: “I’ll take you away.”)
(The lamb seemed to understand what you said and rubbed its head against your calf.)
(You walked to the edge of the woods with the lamb, and found that there were four or five adults standing at the entrance of the town, including the buyer's husband.)
(You: “Wait here for a while while I lead those people away.”)
(The lamb made no sound.)
(You ran out of the grove and said you saw the lamb leave the grove and head north.)
(Everyone believed it.)
(You turn around and lead the lamb to the town entrance.)
(You also want to step out of the town, but are immediately pushed back by an invisible force.)
(The lamb left town.)
(The void storm outside the town came violently, and immediately rolled the lamb into pieces.)
(You take two steps back in surprise.)
(The residents are now standing behind you, and the buyer and his wife are glaring at you.)
(Husband: “You actually let the sheep run away?”)
(Wife: “Beat him to death!”)
(You were hit on the head with a shovel.)
(Your eyes turn red.)
(you are dead.)
(The deduction is over!)
Gu Yi opened his eyes and just saw the buyer and his wife leading a lamb passing by him.
The lamb made bleating sounds, and the couple worked together to stuff the lamb into the trunk of the car.
"Another rule... It's just a lost sheep, is it necessary to beat someone to death?"
Gu Yi scratched his head, took out a pen and paper and wrote down the new rules.
[When a lamb tries to escape, you must stop it and not let it leave the town.]
The residents of this small town are simple and honest, just like those in Gotham City.
Of course, Gu Yi would not really treat the sheep as sheep.
There must be a metaphor behind this.
Before Gu Yi had time to think, the phone rang.
It was another call from my mother.
"Mother."
"Will you come back for dinner tonight?"
"Well, come back."
"We're having braised lamb , so come back early."
"Uh... okay."
Gu Yi nodded and looked at the sky.
There was nowhere else to explore now, so Gu Yi had to go home.
There are no extra clues in the town. After today, a new diary will be unlocked, and then you can get new clues.
Gu Yi picked up his sister, strolled on the road for a while and then went home.
Mother brought a plate of braised lamb and placed it on the table. Her cooking skills were excellent and Gu Yi didn't smell any fishy smell at all.
Gu Yi held the chopsticks, but he didn't dare to pick up the mutton to eat. He remembered what was written in his diary - "The mutton may have gone bad."
Gu Yi closed his eyes.
(Deduction begins!)
(You pick up a piece of lamb and put it in your mouth.)
(It tastes a bit weird, but it tastes pretty good.)
(You continue to pick up a piece.)
(You feel a sharp pain in your abdomen.)
(You feel paralyzed and your breathing becomes rapid.)
(Your parents look at you in confusion.)
(Your eyes go dark.)
(you are dead.)
(The deduction is over!)
"Son, why don't you eat mutton?" The mother looked at Gu Yi with a smile, "It seems like you haven't eaten mutton for a long time?"
"No, I've been having a sore throat lately, so I'd better not eat it."
Gu Yi forced a smile and didn't dare to look at the plate of mutton again.
